HAIDA-TLINGET STYLE STOCKS Cal. 44-40. S# 4612. Mfg 1875 with a 24" octagon bbl. Having German silver blade front sight & sporting rear sight. First model action with pro...morevision for inside mortis dust cover (not present). Right forend cap screw, buttplate screw & tang screws are replacement. The stock of straight grain walnut embellished overall with Haida Tlinget Clan figural carving in shallow relief. A totem figure on the foregrip and the partial image of a stylized falcon on the main stock body with crescent steel trapdoor buttplate. SIZE: 43 1/2" long overall. CONDITION: metal has an overall cleaned appearance, turning brown & patina with evidence of prior pitting. Right sideplate screw & surrounding metal show signs of improper screwdriver use. Stock has very good rich age darkened patina with smooth polished surface. Dark bore with intact rifling. Mechanics in need of attention, firing pin does not retract and carrier does not always lift completely. (05-1132/BH/TG). ANTIQUE. $4,000-8,000.
