Model 12 pump action shotgun mfg. by Winchester in 1949. Left side of the bbl. exhibits standard factory markings denoting Winchester's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations above "FOR SUPER SPEED & SUPER-X FULL". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock with grooved wood pump. Buttstock exhibits a layer of added varnish, and is fitted with a Winchester red rubber recoil pad. Aluminum bead front sight. Right side of safety switch exhibits a flat checkered panel. Receiver and bbl. are matching. LOP is shortened to 12 15/16" with refit original pad. Aftermarket big head safety. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting light to mild edge wear, a few areas of light thinning, as well as light superficial handling marks overall. Mirror bore. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered superficial marks and minor impressions (primarily under the finish on buttstock), but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original box containing original packing material, with instructions, 3-shell mag. plug sheet, and Poly Choke instructions hang tag. Box has matching S# label marked "MODEL 12/ REPEATING SHOTGUN/ WITH POLY CHOKE". Upper left corner is stamped "SPECIAL". Small round forearm...more with point pattern wrap around hand checkering. Straight grip stock has trap grade wrap around hand checkering and black diamond inlays on both sides of wrist. Stock is altered with added piece of wood raising the comb and adding to the length. LOP: 14 7/8" over a Morgan adj. solid black pad with aluminum base and 1 1/4" of length on the added piece of wood. DAC: 1 3/4" over added wood. DAH: 2 1/16" at butt. Mfg. in 1901. CONDITION: 40% dull blue showing substantial carry wear with scratches and marks. Stocks have worn finish and checkering showing scratches and dents. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original blue finish, showing some areas of wear and thinning fading to brown and gray patina, with light surface oxidation/pitting present overall. Bright bore, exhibiting areas of light surface oxidation and pitting. Wood furniture shows numerous scattered marks and impressions, with the butt exhibiting chip on the right side at the spacer and a crack stemming from the receiver tang on the underside of the wrist. Box contains instruction manual, warranty card, and hang tag, along with cardboard inserts. CONDITION: near new retaining virtually all wood and metal finish. Bright near excellent bore. Box exterior shows fading with age related staining and wear. Label is partially loose, missing small pieces along the right end. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1974/DS). Box contains instruction manual, warranty card, and hang tag, along with cardboard inserts. CONDITION: near excellent retaining over 98% original blue. Breech end of bbl. shows slight spot of blue wear from box rash. Original stock finish shows a few small marks. Bright near excellent bore. Box exterior and label shows fading with age related staining. Perforated lid seam is detached for a length of 4" at one end. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1975/DS). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: card included with the gun states "extra finish, checkered & engraved by Nick Kusmit for a Winchester employee who worked in the finishing department of the Winchester custom shop in 1977".
