RMS Titanic Stock Certificate, Coal Remnant and Photo on Matted Display W/COA - This striking, professionally matted display brings together three historically significant artifacts related to the RMS Titanic: an original stock certificate, a certified piece of coal recovered from the ship's boiler room, and a photo of Philip Albright Small (P.A.S.) Franklin, a key figure in the Titanic tragedy. The centerpiece is a 1916 stock certificate issued by the International Mercantile Marine Company, parent company of the White Star Line, and signed by Franklin himself, who later became the company's president. Franklin played a pivotal role in the aftermath of the Titanic disaster, famously assuring gathered press and relatives in New York: "There is no danger that Titanic will sink. The boat is unsinkable, and nothing but inconvenience will be suffered by the passengers." Within hours, he was forced to acknowledge the full scale of the tragedy. Despite the misstatement, his leadership during the crisis earned him a promotion. The certificate is made out to company secretary Emerson E. Parvin for a large allotment of 94,277 shares, and features a strong, clear ink signature. It includes standard cancellation holes and stampings on the reverse, typical for documents of its time. Also included is an authentic piece of coal recovered from the Titanic's wreck site, a haunting yet tangible connection to the ship's ill-fated maiden voyage, and a photograph of Franklin, completing the narrative of this historic moment. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. A compelling and beautifully presented collectible from one of the most infamous maritime disasters in history, ideal for Titanic historians, collectors, and museums alike. Shipping Note: This item is located in Florida. Shipping will be at the expense of the buyer.
