Pair of Colt Model 1861 Revolvers from Movie "Wild Wild West"

Lot # 553 (Sale Order: 552 of 604)

Iconic Cased Pair of Engraved, Silver Plated Colt Black Powder Series Model 1861 Conversion Revolvers Carried by Will Smith in the Hollywood Film "Wild Wild West"

Iconic Cased Pair of Engraved, Silver Plated Colt Black Powder Series Model 1861 Conversion Revolvers Carried by Will Smith in the Hollywood Film "Wild Wild West"
Manufactured in the 1990s, this pair of beautifully embellished revolvers were carried by the world famous Hollywood actor Will Smith in the 1999 film "Wild Wild West". Smith portrays the character Jim West, a post-Civil War U.S. Army captain sent on a mission to the American Western Frontier by U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant. This pair of revolvers appear to have originally been manufactured by Colt as part of their Black Powder Series of percussion revolvers, and they are believed to have been sent to Kenny Howell of Howell Arms to be converted to cartridge use. The conversion appears similar to some period conversions with the addition of a loading gate, though the percussion loading lever remains. Both of the revolvers have matching floral scroll engraving on all the major components which was executed by an unknown artist. They both have silver inlaid borders on the frame and flourishes on the barrel lug and barrel and "Lilliquoi" inlaid on the back strap. The hammers, cylinders, loading levers, and trigger guards are finished silver, and the muzzles of the barrels are finished bright with the front sight blades removed and filled. They are both fitted with a smooth rosewood grip with both having silver mounted "JW" initials on both sides for "Jim West". One of these revolvers is very clearly seen in the scene where Smith's character West fires his gun into the ceiling of the White House. Both of these revolvers are housed in a glass-topped case with poker chips attached inside, a leather strap marked "JIM WEST", and a tag marked for "The World-Famous Stembridge Collection".

Robert Burt Signed Master Engraved Colt Combat Commander Pistol

Lot # 554 (Sale Order: 553 of 604)

Attractive Robert Burt Signed Master Engraved Colt Mk. IV Series 70 Combat Commander Semi-Automatic Pistol with Relief Carved Ivory Grips, Case, and Factory Letter

Manufactured in 1975, this Colt Combat Commander was subsequently beautifully embellished by Colt Master Engraver Robert Burt, apparently as a freelance piece. Burt took over as Master Engraver at the Colt factory in 1970 at 26 years old, becoming the youngest craftsman in the 20th century to be appointed to the role. Burt continued in that role until 1981, when he left the factory and continued as a freelance engraver. This particular pistol appears to have been engraved by Burt some years after its manufacture, after he had left the factory and begun work on his own. The pistol shows near full coverage, beautifully executed floral scroll and oak leaf/acorn engraving on essentially all the surfaces and is signed "Colt Master Eng./R.Burt" on the frame under the left grip. In addition to the engraving, the pistol has the standard Colt markings overall. It is fitted with blade and notch sights and a very attractive pair of relief carved ivory grips, which feature a steer's head on the left and an American eagle and shield on the right. The included factory letter lists the pistol in .45 ACP, with a 4 1/4 inch barrel, blue finish, grips not listed, and shipment to John Jovino Company of New York on 17 March 1975 as part of a 172 gun shipment. Includes a hardwood Colt case with interior fitted for the pistol.

Class: Modern Handgun

Very fine as embellished by Colt Master Engraver Robert Burt, retaining 99% plus of the nickel plated finish with only the slightest handling marks overall and crisp engraving. The grips are also very fine with an attractive lightly aged tone, a few hairline age cracks, and crisp carving. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some light handling/storage wear.

Pair of Ben Lane Engraved Colt Gold Cup National Match Pistols

Very Attractive Matching Pair of Ben Lane Master Engraved and Signed Colt Mk. IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match Semi-Automatic Pistols with Scrimshawed Ivory Grips -A) Colt Mk. IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match Pistol

Very Attractive Matching Pair of Ben Lane Master Engraved and Signed Colt Mk. IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match Semi-Automatic Pistols with Scrimshawed Ivory Grips -A) Colt Mk. IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match Pistol
Originally manufactured in 1978, this pair of Colt Mk. IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match pistols were beautifully upgraded and embellished by Master Engraver Ben Lane Jr. (1940-2023), who signed his work on the frames under the grip panels with his typical conjoined "BL" marking. Lane was a Colt Master Engraver, founding member and past president of the Firearms Engraving Guild, and a founding member of the Colt Collector's Association. This very attractive pair of pistols show matching engraving featuring near full coverage vine scroll engraving on the sides of the frame and sides of the slide, while the upper surface of the slide and lower surface of the frame show a more matte nickel finish. The initials "J.F.B." are engraved on the left forward portion of the frame on the "A" gun and on the right forward portion of the frame on the "B" gun. The left sides of the slides have the three-line model and caliber marking followed by the Rampant Colt, while the right sides of the slides have the two-line Gold Cup National Match marking. The single line address and serial numbers, which are only 126 digits apart, are on the right side of the frames. Both of the pistols are fitted with Patridge blade front sights, Elliason adjustable notch rear sights, and adjustable serrated triggers. They are both fitted with smooth ivory grips that have a scrimshawed eagle on one panel and the initials "FB" on the other, the designs are mirrored on the right and left between the two pistols.

TNW Firearms Model AA-M3 Belt Fed Firearm with Accessories

Lot # 576 (Sale Order: 575 of 604)

Desirable TNW Firearms Model AA-M3 Belt Fed Semi-Automatic Firearm with Tripods, Parts, and Accessories

Manufactured in Vernonia, Oregon, and configured as a semi-automatic only commercially made version of the venerable U.S. Browning M2 HB "Ma Deuce" .50 caliber heavy machine gun, with a TNW Firearms marked semi-automatic right side plate along with surplussed U.S.G.I. components. One of the most well known firearm designs from the legendary John Moses Browning, the precursor to M2 was developed after World War I as an enlarged adaptation of Browning's Model 1917/1919 belt fed design. Chambered for the powerful .50 BMG (12.7x99 mm NATO) cartridge, which was itself based in part off of the Imperial German 13.2x92 mm SR Mauser cartridge, it was intended to deal with armored vehicles and aircraft that emerged by the end of World War I. Finished after Browning's death and adopted in 1933, the M2 and its sub-variants proved to be some of the most prevalent and versatile heavy machine guns in the world, being utilized in a wide range of roles from infantry support, vehicle mounts, ship defense, and even as the armament of aircraft, by the United States and her allies from World War II onward. Though its use on aircraft has largely been surpassed, the M2 and its sub variants are still extensively used by the United States and a number of other nations around the world in those same roles today, a century after its initial conception. Features hooded blade front and adjustable folding ladder rear (graduated from 100 to 2,600 yards) sights installed on the receiver, a "ordnance bomb" proofed and "D282'53A-11" marked heavy profile barrel installed in a "19200-550491/MFR 10506/P3" marked short ventilated heat shield, a push-bar safety installed underneath the trigger paddle, a barrel mounted carry handle, "D-7312711 SA" marked barrel extension, and other part numbers on various components. Fitted with a brown polymer charging handle grip and a pair of oiled walnut spade grips. Includes a green "1942" dated Lamson M1917A tripod mount, an unmarked green M3 tripod mount, Israeli pattern counter-sprung vehicle pintle, an ammunition box tray mount, a vehicle pintle mount with green hardwood display base, along with a "BROWNING M.G./.50 CAL. M2HB" marked tool box containing several sealed bags of spare springs and components, two segmented cleaning rods, a head-spacing tool set, two M12 hand-held belt loading devices (one still in box), a broken case head extractor, and chamber brushes. Note: This item is restricted under various state-level assault weapons bans and cannot be sold or transferred to residents of CA, CT, DE, HI, IL, MD, NJ, NY, and WA. Please check your local laws and regulations prior to bidding.
