Early Production Kimball Arms .30 Carbine Pistol with Box

Lot # 1577 (Sale Order: 578 of 581)

Rare Early Production Serial Number "78" Kimball Arms .30 Carbine Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box

One of less than 250 manufactured between 1955 and 1958. The Kimball was a failed attempt at producing a blow-back operated pistol chambered for the .30 Carbine cartridge. It uses a series of rings machined into the chamber wall, which in theory would allow the casings to swell into the recesses and lock, delaying extraction long enough for pressure to drop. Of the reported 238 manufactured, many were destroyed during use by the severe recoil, making examples in this kind of condition even more rare. Features a ramped blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, with the Detroit, Michigan, address on the left side of the chamber, serial number on the right. The frame features a magazine release button on the left side behind the grip and a ribbed safety tab on the right above the trigger. Fitted with a pair of checkered plastic grips. Includes shipping box, factory box identifying the pistol as "MODEL Nov. 1955", extra magazine, and manual.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with attractive plum color, limited edge wear, and minor handling marks. Grips are also excellent with crisp checkering. The slide release is stiff, otherwise mechanically fine. Box is very fine with peeling on the lid.

Gold Plated and Blue Two Tone Semmerling Model LM-4 Pistol

Lot # 1578 (Sale Order: 579 of 581)

Rare Gold Plated and Blue Two Tone Semmerling Model LM-4 Pistol

Introduced in the early 1980s. The LM-4 pistol is not a semi-automatic, although it physically resembles one. The slide is flicked forward and back after each double action squeeze of the trigger. The frame has the rarely seen gold finish with a blued slide.

Class: Modern Handgun

Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and gold plating with limited handling marks and a plum coloration to the slide. Mechanically excellent.

MBAssociates Mark I Model B Gyrojet Pistol with Box

Lot # 1579 (Sale Order: 580 of 581)

MBAssociates Mark I Model B Gyrojet Pistol with Box

Manufactured in the 1960s, the Mark I Gyrojet uses a 13 mm solid fuel rocket in place of a standard bullet and cartridge. As the rocket does not require a solid chamber to contain ignition nor extractor equipment to eject a casing, the entire pistol is greatly simplified and constructed from mostly lightweight materials. Features adjustable blade front and fixed notch rear sights, front-mounted hammer, "MARK I/MODEL B" marked on the left side, and a pair of smooth walnut grips. Includes a MBAssociates "Rocketeer" box.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Excellent overall, retaining 98% original black finish with limited handling marks and minor edge wear on the bottom of the grip frame and slide. Grips are also excellent with minimal handling evidence. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with storage and handling wear.

Whitney Firearms Wolverine Rimfire Pistol with Box

Lot # 1580 (Sale Order: 581 of 581)

Whitney Firearms Wolverine Semi-Automatic Rimfire Pistol with Box

Manufactured between 1955 and 1962 with a futuristic, space age design that utilized a cast aluminum frame in lieu of the standard steel frames of the day. The Wolverine is a straight blow-back design that uses a round bolt inside the upper part of the frame, with exposed cocking knobs on the rear of the frame and an exposed hammer. It was designed by Robert "Bob" Hillberg (1917-2012), an intuitive firearms designer who worked for High Standard Mfg. Co. as the head of research and development, and was involved in a number of different design projects including the COP .357 Derringer pistol and M37 machine gun. Features fixed front and rear sights, standard markings, and checkered grips. Includes a reproduction Whitney box.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Excellent, retaining 95% original black finish with light edge wear and handling marks mostly focused on the frame and controls. Grips are exceptionally fine with minor surface scrapes and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very fine.
