L. Sherman Signed Highly Embellished Engraved, Gold Inlaid and Carved Winchester Model 71 Lever Action Rifle

Originally manufactured in 1953 and later highly embellished by L. Sherman who has signed the left side of the receiver. The receiver features a profusely engraved floral scroll pattern on a stippled background, gold inlaid scroll bordering, and inlaid big game scenes of gold elk bull and cow under a silver moon in a mountain scene on the left side, gold buffalo head on the underside, and gold moose and mountain lion in a forest on the right side. The bolt, lever, hammer, forend cap and barrel at the breech and muzzle are embellished to match. Discreetly Birmingham proofed. It is fitted with a hooded ramp front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The highly figured walnut forearm and pistol grip stock feature fine checking with relief carved fleur-de-lis bordering. The buttstock is fitted with a skeletonized grip cap and checkered steel buttplate.

L. Sherman Signed Highly Embellished Engraved, Gold and Platinum Inlaid and Relief Carved Winchester Model 53 Lever Action Rifle in Desirable .44-40 WCF

Originally manufactured in 1925, the second year of production, and later highly embellished by L. Sherman who has signed the left side of the receiver. The receiver features a profusely engraved floral scroll pattern on a stippled background, gold inlaid scroll bordering and inlaid big game scenes of two caribou in gold in a forest on the left side, a polar bear in silver in an arctic scene and a muskox in gold on the underside. The lever, hammer, takedown collar, forend cap and barrel at the breech and muzzle are embellished to match. Discreetly Birmingham proofed. It is fitted with a beaded blade front sight, a folding two leaf rear sight, and a folding tang peep sight with engraved base. The highly figured walnut forearm and straight grip stock feature a fine leaf and vine carved motif with the addition of fine checkering on the wrist. The buttstock is fitted with a checkered steel buttplate.

Winchester Model 71 Deluxe Serial Number 3 Rifle

Documented Pre-World War II Winchester Model 71 Deluxe Serial Number 3 Lever Action Rifle

Manufactured in 1935 and subsequently finished prior to 1976 presentation with standard Winchester markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The included letter from U.S. Repeating Arms certifies that the rifle was manufactured in 1935 and indicates that it was presented to a retiring Winchester employee in April of 1976. A letter dated 12 October 1988 from Mr. Walter M. Bellemore states that serial number 3 Model 71 was presented to him by W.E. Talley of Olin Corporation on 27 April 1976 at his retirement party. Mr. Bellemore also notes in the letter that he was told that this rifle had been in the reference collection of the Product Engineering Department of Olin Corp. prior to its presentation to him. Fitted with a ramped beaded blade front sight with hood, filler in the rear sight dovetail, and a bolt mounted peep sight. Mounted with a checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a Winchester grip cap, sling swivel studs, and a checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as finished by the factory at a later production time for employee presentation. 99% original bright high polish blue finish remains with the receiver and hammer showing an attractive plum hue, only the slightest handling marks, and some very light cycling wear on the hammer. The highly finished wood is also very fine and has a few scattered minor dings and scratches and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. A rare opportunity to add a single digit serial number Winchester rifle to your collection!

Manufactured in 1964. The carbine has standard Winchester markings, hooded ramp and elevation adjustable sights, smooth forearm and straight grip stock and checkered steel buttplate. The correct factory box has a Model 94 carbine label but is without a serial number. Also with the hanging tag.

Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun

Excellent. The carbine retains 97% original blue finish showing some patches of brown patina on the receiver. There is a patch of minor pitting on the left side of the receiver. The wood is also excellent showing a couple minor pressure dents. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair with a few tears on the long sides, split lid corners and wear.

Engraved-Inlaid Winchester 1 of 1000 European Model 94 Carbine

Cased Limited Production Bottega C. Giovanelli Signed, Relief Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Winchester One of One Thousand European Model 94 Lever Action Carbine with Certificate of Authenticity

There were only 250 of these One of One Thousand Model 94 carbines exclusively engraved for Winchester with this carbine being number 67. The Italian nitro proofed receiver features profuse relief engraved floral scrollwork on a matte background, gold inlaid scroll bordering, and highly detailed panel scenes beautifully engraved on each side. The left side of the receiver has the iconic Winchester horse and rider logo, and the right side of the receiver has a bugling elk standing over another elk in a mountain scene. Bottega C. Giovanelli has signed and numbered ("067/250") his work on the left side of the receiver. The floral scrollwork extends to both barrel bands and buttplate, an engraved floral motif accented with gold inlaid scroll bordering appears on the lever, a floral blossom is engraved on the magazine tube cap, and gold inlaid bands are found on the barrel at the breech and muzzle. "One of One Thousand" is signed in gold on the barrel and buttplate. The tang model marking, Model 94 barrel legend and serial number are also in gold. The highly figure walnut forearm and straight grip stock feature fine checkering. Comes with the correct One of One Thousand combination lock case featuring an original blank oval brass plaque and a certificate of authenticity affirming this Model 94 is no. 67 of only 250 carbines. Each one of these carbines required 70 hours of engraving and 8 grams of gold, and they were distributed in Europe only.

Near mint showing the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some minor handling/storage marks. A stunning work of late 1970s firearms art commissioned by Winchester and embellished by renowned Italian master engraver Bottega C. Giovanelli.

Limited Edition J.P. Bailly Signed, Master Engraved, and Gold Inlaid Winchester Model 94 Centenary Edition Lever Action Carbine

There were only 100 of these Model 94 Centenary Edition carbines exclusively engraved for Winchester with this carbine being number 65. These carbines were sent to Italy for a high quality embellishment. The Italian nitro proofed receiver features profuse floral scroll engraving on a matte background, gold inlaid portraits of O.F Winchester on the left and J.M. Browning on the right and gold inlaid banners of "065 of 100" on the left and "Model 94 Centenary Edition" on the right. J.P. Bailly signed the left side of the receiver. The buttplate, lever and rear barrel band are engraved to match. The barrel has a gold inlaid band at the muzzle, and "Winchester" in the barrel legend is in gold. The highly figured walnut forearm and straight grip stock feature fine checkering.

Class: Modern Long Gun

Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus of the original finishes with only a light scuff on the barrel and limited mild handing marks on the buttstock, otherwise mint. Mechanically excellent.

Receiver manufactured in 1942 and subsequently custom rebarreled. The high quality, professionally made, unmarked octagon barrel is equipped with a beaded blade serrated integral ramp front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The top of the receiver has a Winchester factory oval proof. The bolt has provision for a sight. The forearm and pistol grip stock are checkered. The buttstock has a quick release sling swivel, Winchester hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine. The period replaced custom barrel and magazine tube retain 98% plus of the blue finish showing minor handling marks. The buttplate has a mixed smooth brown-gray patina. Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Super Grade Rifle

Excellent Pre-64 Winchester Super Grade Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle

Manufactured in 1950 during a period that saw an increase in yearly production to satisfy the growing demand for the Model 70. The rifle is a deluxe version of the standard rifle with Type III receiver. The barrel and receiver are without the factory proof (note that on occasion pre-64 Model 70s will be found with either or both proofs missing). Equipped with a hooded ramp front sight with a filler block in the rear sight slot and a period scope mount on the left side of the receiver. Polished bolt (not numbered), straight receiver tang, late safety, and Super Grade quick release sling swivels. Standard Winchester legend on the left side of the barrel and "-SUPER GRADE-" marked on the hinged floor plate. Select walnut checkered and capped pistol grip stock with cheekpiece and checkered steel buttplate.

Excellent. The rifle retains 98% original blue finish with some mild high edge wear, an area of light spotting on the floor plate and a series of minor scratches on the trigger guard. The bolt handle has been ground (likely to clear a scope). The stock is excellent with some scattered minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Some flaking and crazing of the finish featured on the forearm tip is present. There is a very slight cut out on the left side of the stock to accommodate the side mount scope base.

Excellent with 99% plus original blue finish, light cycling marks on the receiver rails and bolt, and evidence of light firing on the bolt. The stock is very fine with moisture spots on belly and bottom of pistol grip, sharp checkering and just a few small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good with corner and edge wear, minor deformation, and moisture staining.

Pre-World War II Winchester Sporting Model 52 Bolt Action Rifle

Manufactured in 1936. Ramped, hooded beaded blade front sight and receiver mounted fully adjustable Lyman rear peep sight, standard barrel markings, and Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Standard markings on the receiver with "SPORTING" marked on the trigger plate between the magazine well and trigger guard. Checkered pistol grip stock with black forend tip, hard rubber Winchester grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and checkered blue steel buttplate.

Fine with 80% original blue finish, some mild muzzle and edge wear, small scratches, visible flaking on the trigger guard and brown/gray patina on the trigger guard and trigger plate, and handling wear on the bolt handle. Non-factory scope block taps on top of barrel with filler screws. The refinished wood is also fine with crisp checkering, dings and bruises throughout, and a mostly gray patina on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.

Early Production Pre-War Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle Serial Number 1307

Manufactured in 1936. Ramped, hooded beaded blade front and elevation adjustable sporting notch rear sights, standard model, caliber, and patent markings on the left side of the barrel, Winchester two-line address on the right, and Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The receiver ring and bridge are matted with factory drilled and tapped holes in the ring with filler screws in place. The bolt is electro pencil numbered to the gun. Multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine. 85% original blue finish remains on the barrel and receiver with areas of edge wear, gray patina on the bolt handle, clear markings, and handling marks. The trigger guard has been professionally refinished. The highly figured stock is also very fine as professionally refurbished with crisp freshened checkering, some small dings, and freshened coat of varnish. Mechanically excellent.
