Manufactured by Remington for the U.S. military during World War II, primarily for use by military and industrial guards and for aerial gunnery training, both freehand and in elaborate simulator mounts. "U.S." and flaming bomb along with "MILITARY FINISH" marked left of the receiver, replacement Savage Model 720 barrel stamped with a flaming bomb on the left, chamber marked 2 3/4", choke marked "****" (improved cylinder), and 14" LOP.

Condition: Fine with much of the original finish, some scattered light surface freckling, and replacement barrel as mentioned above. The forearm is good as sanded and varnished, with a slightly oversized replacement varnished buttstock. Mechanically excellent.

Receiver manufactured in 1934. "U.S.M.C./12-43/(circled S)" marked replacement Sedgley barrel, "R" bolt, wrist of the stock stamped with a faint boxed cartouche.

Receiver manufactured in 1955, "SA" and "11-66" Springfield Armory rebuild markings electro-stenciled on the right of the receiver leg, "SA" marked and "3 55" dated barrel with parkerized (refinished) chamber, post-war "SA" operating rod, World War II era "-2SA/C13" bolt, and "-12-SA" trigger housing with "-3 SA" hammer, "-4 W.R.A." safety, an unmarked milled trigger guard. Fitted with a boxed "DoD eagle" inspected walnut stock set glass bedded to the trigger housing.

Very fine as Springfield Armory refurbished, with limited edge wear, some minor cycling wear, and limited minor handling marks. The stock is fine as arsenal refurbished with a few light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Early Production Colt Government Model Pistol

Early Production Colt Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol, Serial Number "C666"

Manufactured in 1912, the first year of Colt Government Model production. The frame is marked with the early serial number placement on the left of the frame (used roughly up to serial number C2250) and Government Model nomenclature on the front right of the frame (used roughly up to serial numbers C4500 to C5000), along with "triangle/VP" and "K" on the left of the trigger guard. The slide is marked with the Rampant Colt logo behind the slide serrations along with "S" behind the firing pin stop. "S" and "P" marked on the blued barrel recoil lug. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips, and a 'keyhole' relief cut two-toned blue magazine with pinned lanyard loop base.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Fine as factory refinished, with period replacement blade front and notch rear sights, some softened markings on the slide and frame, some minor pitting and light handling marks under the finish, minor edge wear, scattered brown patina visible, thinning on the grip straps, and some mild handling wear. The replacement grips are very good with compression wear and minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Texas Public Safety Department Colt New Service Revolver

Lot # 680 (Sale Order: 679 of 1022)      

Highly Desirable Texas Public Safety Department No. 250 Colt New Service Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter

The included factory letter lists this revolver in .38 caliber with a 4" barrel and nickel plated finish and also indicates that "'Texas Public Safety Dept.' is engraved on the strap and the number 250 is engraved on the butt of the revolver." It was shipped to the State of Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin on November 6, 1937, in a shipment of 60 guns of this type. Marked "No. 250" on the butt Some of these revolvers have been documented to Texas Rangers which were part of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Manufactured in 1917. "Triangle/VP" and "X" marked on the left of the trigger guard, unmarked blued barrel with polished chamber hood. Fitted with a pair of 'double-diamond' checkered walnut grips and World War II era parkerized magazine marked "S" on the toe.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Very good, with some of the original finish retained with scattered light edge wear, a hole drilled through the bottom of the slide, scattered minor patches of spotting/freckling, some visible grey and brown patina, and mild handling wear. The grips are good with moderate compression wear and handling marks in the otherwise defined checkering. Slide does not properly remain locked in the rearward position, otherwise mechanically functions.

Manufactured in 1890. The 4 1/2 inch barrel has the two-line Colt address/patent dates legend stamped upside down on the right side. The left side of the barrel has the standard "COLT. D.A. 38" caliber marking.

Fine with unpolished original nickel finish, edge wear and flaking on the balance. The grip is very good with chip on right panel and some softened checkering. Mechanically functions fine, although slightly loose.
