Elmer Keith challenged Smith & Wesson to legitimize the 44 magnum for hunting big game. Smith & Wesson responded by producing the first Model 29 .44 Magnum in 1955. This is a stainless 629-5 with a 4” barrel. It has Hogue pebble grips to help soften the recoil of full-house loads. This is a very nice revolver.
