Our dedicated motorcycle auction for The Classic Sale at Silverstone is taking place at Silverstone Circuit (The Wing Building, NN12 8TN) on Friday 30th July at 2pm. Viewing will be available on Friday 30th July from 9am. We are also holding Classic Car, Race Car and Automobilia Sales on Saturday 31st July & Sunday 1st August.

1977 Kawasaki Z1000 A1

Lot # 226 (Sale Order: 26 of 63)      

  • Correct numbers, Z1000 A1 imported from the USA
  • 'Cosmetic' restoration by Classic Bikes at Market Drayton in 2015 to a superb standard (frame, tank, seat, mirrors, front brakes, carbs etc. The engine wasn't opened)
  • Fitted with optional twin front discs and stainless exhaust system
  • Very smart in the correct 'Diamond Wine Metallic'
  • From a small private collection whose owner is particularly fastidious about keeping his bikes in top mechanical condition
  • In good running order and regularly used. Great 'riding' bike
  • Original owner's handbook included
  • History file containing old MOTs, receipts and associated paperwork
  • In showroom condition, a very usable and appreciating 1970s classic

1951 BMW R35 350

Lot # 227 (Sale Order: 27 of 63)      

  • After the war, R35 production restarted. Despite its distinctive looks, the R35 was to prove the most successful model in BMW's motorcycle history
  • This matching numbers example was restored in 2018 to a very high standard
  • Extensive history file with restoration info
  • UK registered with a current V5c
  • Dry stored in a private collection for last year or so
  • Will need recommissioning before road use
  • The R35's innovative looks proved divisive in period, but are now regarded as seriously stylish and rather cool

1954 Francis Barnett Falcon 67

Lot # 228 (Sale Order: 28 of 63)      

  • Introduced in March 1954, the 67 was a development of the Falcon 58
  • It featured a revised steering angle, better wheel bearings, dual seat and an optional 4-speed box. Powered by the ubiquitous 197cc Villiers 8E
  • This bike was restored by the owner some 30+ years ago
  • Not run for last 20 years. Engine turns with compression
  • Same owner since 1965. Complete machine. No paperwork
  • In garage find condition. Arden Green paintwork still looks decent
  • Will need restoring or recommissioning before road use

1955 Vincent Black Prince Series D

Lot # 231 (Sale Order: 31 of 63)      

  • Following on from the legendary Shadow, Phil Vincent wanted to produce a 'two-wheeled Bentley' so, in 1954, he developed and launched the Black Prince with all new aerodynamic bodywork clothing the traditional 998cc V-twin engine and suspension
  • Only 132 were ever produced when production ended in December 1955 with the company's demise
  • This stunning example is mostly original, never been restored, and appears to have been well maintained throughout its life
  • Rear frame number RD12848BF. Matching crankcase numbers I26V
  • 5,616 recorded miles. Two registered keepers with details included
  • Maintains its original registration number. Still with its spade headlight key
  • The history file includes its original Vincent Parts Book and Owner's Manual
  • Recent recommission and is now in running order
  • The Black Prince is often regarded as more a piece of Art than a mere Motorcycle. Very special

  • This example was shipped to BSA West Coast California on 10/03/1967
  • Y-spec engine (factory supplied upgraded version)
  • Very rare matching numbers example
  • Restored and in good running order
  • Original fibreglass tank replaced with a hand-made aluminium exact replica
  • Still complete with its original one gallon larger oil tank, Dunlop alloy rims, upgraded 190mm front brake, Amal brake and clutch levers and throttle control
  • Recent engine rebuild by Terry Macdonald including crank bearings, new valves and guides and hardened seats
  • Now fitted with electronic ignition, new fuel taps, correct monobloc carbs, Leighton seat and new clutch
  • Very collectable
