Item Description: Translate description
Impressive hand-thrown redware pitcher attributed to North Carolina folk potter Fred Beane. Stands just under 17 inches tall with a boldly arched strap handle and pronounced pinched spout. The body is decorated in Fred Beanes signature swirling slip-glaze pattern, blending rich chocolate brown with creamy ivory in a fluid, marbled effect. Glossy surface with light surface crazing and kiln-fired character throughout. A fine example of modern Southern folk pottery with strong sculptural form and decorative appeal.
