*Colt, New York Engraved Model 1851 Navy,

Lot # 24 (Sale Order: 26 of 58)      

.36 cal, s/n 7042, BP revolver, brl length 7.5", single action, very good condition, Manufactured 1851 First Year production. This revolver has Germanic scrollwork on a ...morepunch-dot background throughout with a serpent engraving either side of hammer typical of the work found done by Louis D. Nimscke for the New York retailer Schuyler, Hartley & Graham. Nickel silver finish is present on all surfaces showing some thinning on barrel, loading lever and some areas of cylinder mostly on one of the ships in the navel engagement scene. Single line barrel address on top barrel flat reads "-ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY-" with border engraving. Shell engraving either side of back strap at top edge with shell engraving top center. The grips are antique ivory with a bolo/lasso having a shield in the center on the right panel both showing a few age hairlines. All numbers matching barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, loading lever, cylinder and cylinder pin. Wedge is unmarked and retaining screw isn't present. The rifling in the bore shows off well. There are few handling marks present. Very nice example of a New York engraved 1851 Navy.

*Colt, Fluted cylinder 1860 Army Model,

Lot # 25 (Sale Order: 27 of 58)      

.44 cal, s/n 5214, BP revolver, brl length 8" round, single action, good plus condition, Manufactured 1861 having the rare fluted cylinder with the correct patent date ma...morerking which reads "PATENTED SEPT. 10 in 1860" in the fluted valley between two chambers. This example has the single line barrel marking which reads"-ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT.-" with the left side frame marking present but light in a two line configuration "COLTS/PATENT". Having an iron backstrap with brass triggerguard with numbers matching on barrel, frame, guard, backstrap, rear cylinder face and wedge with the numeral stamping on the frame are dissimilar and the wedge has a missing retaining spring. There are two screw lugs either side of the frame at rear for shoulder stock attachment. The revolver is mostly in the white showing some handling marks and freckling with a few areas of very minor light flash pitting. The bore shows nice rifling and the smooth walnut grips show light indentations with some scratches and are slightly undersized. The cross hatch checkered hammer spur shows thinning and the brass triggerguard shows some handling wear. Nice example of a fluted 1860 Army.

Colt, 1873 Single Action Army,

.38 colt, s/n 350661, revolver, brl length 7.5", single action, very good plus condition, Manufactured 1927 with a case colored frame, fire blued trigger and blued barrel...more, ejector rod housing, cylinder, trigger guard and backstrap. All 4 hammer clicks are audibly noticeable, right grip panel is pencil numbered to the revolver and last 2 digits of serial number are present on the rear cylinder face. Fixed blade front sight with notch rear and a checkered hammer spur with board. Bore shines very bright. Case coloring present on frame with thinning and some very light freckling present. Bluing on the cylinder shows some thinning with 2 small areas of very light pitting around one flute. Bluing on trigger guard and backstrap show some thinning where the hand grips the revolver. The barrel shows a few very light surface scratches left side towards muzzle with a very small spot of freckling with thinning on muzzle edge. Left side of barrel is marked "38 COLT" having standard markings on barrel top and left side frame. Very nice example of .38 colt SAA. 12-1-11

.30 cal, s/n 12952, BP revolver, brl length 5 5/8", single action percussion, very good plus condition, Belgian "ELG" in oval on cylinder with crown over "P" just below, ...morethere is also a crown over "P" left side of frame as well. Front face of cylinder has a crown over "PP" and the loading lever is marked with an "FW" at the link. The serial number appears on the barrel, frame and trigger guard with the addition of "49" above the serial number on frame and barrel. Highly engraved relief cut walnut grip panels showing some tool marks at butt end having an engraved brass trigger guard and backstrap in a feathered scroll pattern with a nice overall medium patina. High gloss blued barrel and cylinder with the later being engraved with a front and boarder ring showing thinning toward the back and front ends. The barrel shows off very well some thinning and light freckling showing minimal handling wear. Iron frame loading lever and plunger along with hammer all have a mottled grey patina with the frame being scroll engraved either side flats as well as blast shields with the flats having a line border. The bore is smooth and has a nice shine. The red hue mahogany case appears European with a deep green velvet style lining with 5 compartments an unmarked revolver size flask, 2 bullet brass mold, original key and caps. Lid shows some handling marks. Fine little cased Brevate.

.41rf, s/n 44616, deringer, brl length 2.5", pivot swing out single action, good plus condition, Colt marked top of barrel with caliber marking left side of frame with 2 ...moreproof marks underside of barrel. The nickel finish is lifting on the steel barrel toward muzzle end and breech area as well as around Colt marking. The nickel finish on the brass frame appears to be all present showing a few tool marks not through the finish. Majority of the Colt fire bluing still present on small components with visible rifling in bore showing some light pitting. Blade front sight with checkered hammer spur having a border. Birds head walnut grip panels show some handling and are both pencil numbered to the deringer.

Smith & Wesson Pre-World War II Registered Magnum .357 magnum s/n 53336 revolver brl length 8 3/8" Single-Double action Very Good Plus condition The .357 Magnum was intro...moreduced in 1935 and was a custom manufactured revolver. This being the first production firearm chambered for the .357 magnum. Each revolver was manufactured to the individual's specifications and stamped with a registration number. This revolver, bearing the number 2647, was shipped July 30, 1937 and delivered to Mr. William R. Kruse, Jersey City, NJ. The records indicate that this revolver was shipped with an 8 3/8" barrel equipped with a Call gold bead front sight, a King white outline rear sight, blue finish, butt swivel and checkered walnut grips. The Smith and Wesson letter also states it was shipped with a special pair of magna grips in a single unit shipping order and it was billed at $39.00. The registration card and magna grips are not present but the letter will be included. There were approximately 5,500 Registered Magnums ever built and this is a fine example having the correct sights and butt swivel, the hammer spur is checkered with the sides being serrated. The trigger is also serrated and both show a lot of case coloring present. The cylinder release along with the top barrel rib and top strap are all checkered. The back strap and front strap are serrated and there is a light dragline present. The bore shines bright and the bluing is crisp with some very light handling surface scratches pesent, a few small ones on either side of barrel as well as left side of frame. There is a very small amount of freckling just in front of cylinder on right side of frame with a few small areas of loss at muzzle and a few edges. Fantastic example of a Pre-war Registered Magnum.

Winchester Model 1886 Deluxe .45-70 s/n 141277 rifle brl length 26" octagonal lever action Very Good Plus Manufactured in 1907, received in warehouse October 3. The rifl...moree is correct to the letter, having a fancy walnut checkered pistol grip stock and forend. With stock removed the left side of the lower tang is marked "400XX" with to top of the stock underneath the top tang is marked "400". It also has a "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO." grip cap with an engraved screw head retaining it, with a crescent steel butt plate. Appears untouched original condition with the wood showing light handling both side with nice fitment to metal standing proud in most areas and the checkering having a double line border. The sights are fixed front with adjustable folding rear graduated to 30. The bluing has started to patina to a nicely toned brown in some areas and thinning in others mostly on the receiver from carrying and edges of barrel and forend tip. At one time a sling was installed as the forend tip has the threaded recess for a swivel acceptance and the rear underside of buttstock has been plugged. There are a few areas of very light freckling and flash pitting with only a couple of very light minor tool marks. Very nice example of an 1886 Deluxe. No Cody letter present but it would state: Caliber: 45/70, Barrel Type: Octagon, Trigger: Plain, checkered stock, pistol grip as is correct to the rifle

Action Schohesll and Boader - are - Correct to the carbine - Left side plate appeared. and old Replacement and Has been Eng. To Match The balance of the Eng." on one side and on the reverse it reads (quoted exactly) "MR. Madis also. Said - Records Very Few - 1866. Modll were Engraved - this Low Number. Few have SoRRived A good Collector - Win. (Have Letter Form Mr. Geo. Madis Stting this - ManuFactured - 1870." The owner is deceased and no letter is present just the tag. The top of the barrel is marked with two line address which reads "WINCHESTER'S - REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CT./KING'S - IMPROVEMENT - PATENTED - MARCH 29, 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860". There is also a folding two position rear sight marked "5" over "3" with the serial number being marked bottom tang under lever in a flowing banner. The top of the brass butt plate is scroll engraved having a hinged door for cleaning rod with assorted tool marks. The top of tang and top of frame is engraved with scroll work having feathered lines in a border showing some indentations from tool marks. The right side of the frame and side plate are scroll engraved with a floral motif in single line border showing scattered tool marks. The left side of frame and side plate are engraved with a scroll florette pattern having a stag present on the side plate with a double line circular border showing some tool marks present, heavy on the front side. The brass patina on the frame is darker toward the rear with both side plates having a slightly lighter patina. The saddle ring is present on the left side of the rear frame. The hammer spur is checkered and there is a full length tube magazine with two barrel bands, the front band has an integral sight. Metal surfaces have a medium to dark brown patina throughout with some very light tool marks present. The walnut forend shows some very small losses with a few small hairline cracks. The smooth walnut butt stock has a crack at either side of the tang with the one on the left side having traveled rearward halfway back along the grain. There is a loss right top side at frame with a repair at the toe, showing some scattered handling marks, with a few small hairline cracks at the butt plate.

.44 wcf., s/n 502202, rifle, brl length 24.25" octagonal barrel, lever-action, very good plus condition, Manufactured 1896 with the right side barrel flat at frame readin...moreg in a single line "V" in crown "GP" in crown "44 1-30" 33-200 NOT ENGLISH MAKE" in border. The top of the bolt is also marked with a British proof "V" in crown. The rifle is fitted with the rare seven leaf folding express sights with each leaf being numbered top right corner one through five with the sixth one not having a number present and the last being a graduated seven through ten having a folding Beaches combination front sight and a set trigger. The rifle appears to have been professionally refinished at some point with a crisp caliber marking and barrel address label. The model designation stamping is slightly light at the beginning with the caliber marking on the brass lifter being only the slightest bit light with the upper portion of the "C" being very faint. Full length tube magazine and a bore that shines with nice rifling and a few spots of very light pitting. The hammer spur is checkered in a border. The butt plate has a sliding brass door for cleaning rod storage. The smooth straight grip walnut stock and forend has a semi-high gloss finish with minimal wear, tight fitment and a very small almost unnoticeable repair left side heel at butt plate corner. Leather period sling with brass buckle. The metal surfaces all show almost no wear with a small amount of flash pitting left side plate and frame along with right side of frame top front area. the mottled blue/brown finish shows minor thinning on some edges and the forend tip.

.22 rf, s/n NSN, rifle, brl length 22" octagonal, pull ring action, good plus condition, This unusual rifle is believed to be in the production prototype phase. Manufact...moreured by Snieder Arms. Co. Baltimore MD. the top of receiver is marked with three patent dates below the two line Manufacturing mark. The dates are Dec. 17th 1889, Dec. 17th 1889, March 4th 1890. The rifle is loaded by pulling up on a steel lug set into the right side of the barrel, twelve rounds are then loaded into the tubular magazine and returned to battery. The trigger guard contains the trigger and charging ring by pulling the ring the carrier moves right to pick up a new cartridge then travels across the rifle right to left ejecting spent casing and inserting fresh round into chamber. There is also a takedown lever located on the left side of frame with lock up being a touch loose. The frame is brass having a very nice toned mottled patina throughout with all areas except for left side plate showing very little to no wear. The left side plate has numerous tool marks scattered throughout some deeper than others. The walnut checkered straight grip stock and forend show few scuffs and slight loss at toe where the butt plate is damaged also. The left side of the forend has a crack and there are scattered indentations throughout. Finish on metal surfaces show thinning on edges with scattered light freckling and a few very light surface scratches. The right side barrel flat is numbered 3 through 12 with the lesser number starting at front of rear sight base. Sights are fixed and fitted into dovetails and the bore has shine with visible rifling. Unique little rifle with a very interesting action.

J. Stevens Arms Company, Tool Room Prototype breech block folding rifle

.32 rf, s/n NSN, rifle brl length 23", interchangeable breech block action, very good condition, Extremely unusual brass frame folding rifle, The rifle has a sliding fore...morend using a barrel and stud mounted screw to secure it to the barrel allowing the rifle to fold completely over onto itself also being notched out for the triggerguard. The rifle uses a two shot breech block with each chamber having a tapered cone to allow for proper seating in the barrel. To operate you depress a lever mounted to the right side of the frame, break open the action and insert an already loaded block, then return to battery and fire, break open the action again, move the block to the next chamber, close and repeat. There is an extractor for ejecting spent casings but it is unclear how this functions. There is also a very unusual sliding transfer bar which allows the user to pick the point of impact on the rear of the casing to fire the round. Overall a very unique design. The rifle is fitted with a two position rotating rear brass sight fitted into a dovetail with a brass blade style front which is also fitted into dovetail being void of a bead. The stock is a smooth straight grip walnut with a steel crescent rifle butt plate where at the top is located a hinged lidded compartment believed to hold an extra chamber as its interior taper matches the one on the block. The forend is smooth walnut also. The wood shows wear mostly on the butt stock with some indentations most noticeable where the forend screw rests on the underside when folded. The brass has a patina that varies from bright at the edges of the trigger guard to an orange/light brown mottled. The tapers on the chamber block show light freckling while the barrel has a light grey/brown mottled patina with a few areas of very light surface pitting toward muzzle end. Bore shines bright with nice rifling. 12-1-12

9mm rf, s/n 1?, rifle, brl length 20.25" round, single shot sliding barrel, very good condition, This example is marked left side of frame in a circle "TIPPING & LAWDEN S...moreHARPS'PATENT" and on the top barrel flat "B.S.GARDEN. 29 PICCADILLY. LONDON" in a single line. There are three stacked proof marks underside of barrel as well as one right side of frame. Engraved flower motif screw heads located at rear of tang as well as both butt plate retaining screws. The barrel slides forward to load a round and to extract with an addition left side frame mounted extractor lever. Number 1 is located on the underside of the barrel flat along with being marked underside of stock just rear of grip tang. Frame is silver nickel over bras having a mostly rainbow patina with some thinning and a few losses at the back of to tang. Bore shines bright with nice rifling and a few areas of very light pitting. Barrel shows traces of bluing with a mottled patina. Ejector bar, lever and folding rear leaf sight all show traces of Niter bluing. There are a few light tool marks on the edges near the rear sight with minor light handling in some places throughout. Hammer spur is checkered and hammer is slightly loose. Finish on frame shows light surface scratches with very few penetrating finish. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock has steel butt plate and grip cap. Original finish has mostly thinned off cap with a lot of original finish present on plate showing some areas of pitting. Wood shows light scratches and indentations with a small area of heavy indentations just behind the number one marking. Two rear sights with notch rear and notch and peep just in front of that also folds. Front sight is fixed and dovetailed set.

Majority of the bluing is present on the steel barrel showing some light handling surface scratches, freckling and thinning on some edges and at muzzle. The brass frame has a light nickel silver wash with the serial number located underside of butt showing some light surfaces handling and storage discoloration. Smooth walnut grip panel shows light wear with some finish losses and indentations. Bore has faint rifling present with light pitting and the lever is slightly loose but functions as it should. Beautiful example of a early Dickinson lever single shot.

.22 LR, s/n 2494, pistol carbine, brl length 3", 7.5" & 20" barrels, single shot repeater, very good plus condition, Factory 3 barrel set with all barrels serial numbered...more to the firearm. Also included is the screw attached perch bellied beautifully figured walnut stock having a steel butt plate. The 3" barrel is completely knurled with a blade sight. The 20" barrel is high gloss blued with a wooden forend and dovetailed fixed sight showing scattered freckling. The 7.5" barrel is currently fitted to the pistol having a dovetailed fixed front sight having high gloss bluing. Smooth walnut grip panels are inletted both sides with Mother of Pearl diamonds, the slide is serrated and on the top is a folding peep sight. Left side frame mounted safety, (1) 10 round magazine. The finish on pistol is high gloss blued showing minimal handling wear with some thinning on the edges and backstrap where the shoulder stock is attached. There are a few very light scattered tool marks present with minimal handling wear on stock. Butt plate finish shows off well. The case is leather wrapped with a purple felt lining showing losses to some of the leather and original key is included. Very desirable three barrel cased set. 12-1-10

The bolt handle is of the butter knife type with hooded barrel band front sight and single adjustable blade Island rear.
