Palmer (1842-1933) was Alford Professor of Philosophy at Harvard, and his Homeric translation was quite popular. Clean text; 387 pages, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Fair/Good ONLY because the title page has library markings - none are showing on the exterior.

Twain, in his fifth and final travel book, identifies himself as the narrator Mark Twain and tells of his world-wide expedition while on a lecture tour in 1895-1896. He primarily concentrated on his travels in India, Australia, and South Africa. Twain's daughter Suzy, who was twenty-four, had just died, and it was hoped that the lecture tour might bouy Twain's spirits, as well as improve his financial position, as he had recently suffered several financial losses. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Publisher's Name As American Publishing Company (Only), No Mention Of Dorothy Mcclure. 712 pp. with 193 illustrations. This was the last of the subscription book Twain published and his last book to be published by the American Publishing Company.
