Early blackpowder single action revolver chambered in .38-40, circa 1894. Features a blued finish, 5.5" barrel, ejector rod, blade front sight, v-notched rear sight, steel frame with cylinder pin set screw, fluted six-shot cylinder, checkered hammer spur and two piece ivory grips. Includes a Colt factory letter confirming the configuration with ivory grips and stating it was sold to W. H. Crossman Brothers New York, New You & shipped to A. Baldwin and Company New Orleans, Louisiana in a one gun shipment. Finish has moved to a medium to dark grey patina with remanent bluing in protected areas. Revolver also shows light scattered pitting and legible markings. Matching serial numbers on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Action is strong, bore is good are ivory grips are very fine. Slide retains 70% dulling blue finish with storage wear and refinished frame retains 85% bright bluing. Action is strong, bore is pristine, and plastic grips are very good with some wear. EXP.", and two piece Colt medallion checkered wood grips. Revolver shows a bright finish with some visible flaws under bluing and a small area of flaking on barrel. Features a dark blued finish, 5" barrel marked "P" & "H", low profile blade front sight, fixed rear sight, serrated slide marked "Model of 1911 U.S. Army", thumb safety switch, beavertail grip safety, push button magazine release, later 7 round magazine, "United States Property" & Eagle over "S14" acceptance marked frame, smooth main spring housing with lanyard loop, smooth trigger, checkered hammer spur and double diamond checkered two piece wood grips. Slide retains 87% and frame retains 65% original dark bluing with the remainder turned patina. Action is strong, bore is excellent, markings are crisp, and wood grips are very good with heavily worn spot on left grip panel. U.S. Military contracted breechloading trapdoor single shot rifle chambered in .45-70. Features a blued 32.75" tapered barrel, two barrel bands, blade front sight, Buffington rear adjustable sight, sling swivels, ramrod-type bayonet, case hardened receiver, serrated trigger, checkered hammer spur, and one piece walnut shoulder stock with metal trapdoor buttplate & brass tack stamper "44". Rifle bears all correct markings with "SWP / 1891" cartouche on stock for Samuel W. Porter. Finish on barrel has turned to a dark brown patina, receiver is a mixture of silver tones, and lock & hammer retain some bluing with the remainder being bare metal. Rifle shows few small spots of scattered dark oxidation on barrel. Action is sound, bore is excellent, and wood stock is fine with less than average blemishes. Includes a factory letter stating it was shipped in a two gun shipment to Dunham, Carrigan & Hayden Company of San Francisco, California. Finish has moved to an even brown patina with examples of finish in protected areas and ejector rod housing showing 85% bluing intact. Matching serial numbers on frame, trigger guard and backstrap.
