1922 No D Lincoln Cent PCGS G04 Weak Reverse
Lot # 1d (Sale Order: 5 of 342)
This Key Date is considered to be among the scarcest of the Lincoln Cents. In 1922 due to the reintroduction of the Silver Dollar in 1921 the Lincoln cent was only struck in the Denver Mint. After a Die Clash the Die for the Obverse was polished and the "D" was inadvertently removed and the last two digits of the date were weakened. This would have gone unnoticed in any other year because it would be assumed the coins where struck in Philadelphia.
