    Model History:
Here it comes, the archetype of a small bubble car! A car that you simply can't avoid falling in love with: the Fiat 500, introduced in 1957. It is both an icon of the 60s as well as a symbol of Italian compact design.
With the facelifted F-model, front-hinged doors were introduced at the 500 for the first time, replacing the so-called "suicide doors" of earlier models. Power comes from a rear-mounted 496 cc engine with a performance of 13 kW (18 hp).
People wanting more luxury, had to pick up the Fiat 500 F L: quilted side panels, map pockets in the doors, chrome bracket on the bumpers and a broadband speedometer with fuel gauge were the top features. The 500 F was built from 1965 to 1972. It also served various customizers as the basis for visual and technical changes. In 1972, the last variant, called 500 R ("Rinnovata") was introduced, it remained in production until 1975. In total, over 3.7 million units of the Fiat 500 were built. The unbroken popularity of this model led Fiat to introduce a retro-styled new Fiat 500 in 2007.

      Production period: 1969 - 1976

      Vehicle Description:
      • Porsche 914 1.8 in amazing colour combination

      • bi-colour (beige / black) leather interior, renewed

      • being offered as restoration project, as it still needs a few things done

      Model History:
The Porsche 914 - or VW-Porsche 914, since it was a cooperation between the two companies - was launched in 1969 as an entry-level model for Porsche, replacing the 912. It was also considered a potential successor to the Karmann Ghia as an upmarket sports model from the Volkswagen point of view.
Technically, the very lightweight car - curb weight less than one ton - was very much up to date and offered extraordinarily good road handling owing to its mid-engine layout. It was available as a VW version with a 4-cylinder engine, called 914/4, or as 914/6, which accordingly had a 6-cylinder engine installed and was sold with a Porsche badge. The 914 has often been described as unsuccessful, but this is really only true for the German market. In the US, where all models were sold as Porsches, at least the 914/4 did remarkably well for a number of years. A production span of 7 years and a total output of 115,646 vehicles built is not a figure to be scoffed at for a 1970s sports car. The 914/6 suffered from its hefty price tag, it was only slightly cheaper than the base model of the 911 and was phased out as early as 1972 after only 3,332 examples.
The mid-engine layout was only resurrected by Porsche in 1996 for the Boxster.

        Model History:
Not open for everyone, but if open, then for four
Mercedes-Benz convertible lovers had to wait for it for a full two decades: A convertible, which offered no jump seats, but comfortable seats in the rear. There had been no such car since the end of production of the W 108 series. In 1992 it was time again! The convertible based on the E-Class (W 124) coupe, presented in 1987 - at a time when the corresponding sedan had been out for sale for eight years straight. Early customers weren't to be deterred by the high purchase price of 100,000 marks, and what they got, was a technically sophisticated vehicle with the proven 3-liter four-valve engine.
In subsequent years, the engine range was extended downwards, yet even the basic version with four-cylinder engine still set you back some 80,000 DM. From October 1996 to July 1997 there was the special "Final Edition" with an elegant, black-brown burl wood.
Since many A 124 endet up as tuning victims, un-tinkered original models are now fast advancing to valuable classics.

          • German registration documents, historic plates and valid technical approval
          • complete with a suitcase full of documents including original owners manual

          Model History:
"La deesse" means "the goddess" in French, and the pun was not unintended. When the DS was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1955, its extravagant styling made it look like something from a different universe to most people. Citroen was owned by the tyre manufacturer Michelin at that time, who put great emphasis on technological advances. The hydropneumatic suspension, designed by Paul Magès, had been used on the rear axle of the 15 CV, the DS's predecessor, as of 1954 - but here it was employed on all four wheels, giving the car a superior ride quality and variable ground clearance. Hydraulics were also used for the brakes, power steering, and - for early models at least - also for clutch and transmission. The "snake pit", as the mass of hydraulic pipes in the engine bay was jokingly called - overwhelmed many contemporary mechanics, but the systems proved to be very reliable. The DS (and its submodels ID, D Super and D Special) remained in production for a full two decades, with various redesigns, the most noteworthy in 1967, which put the headlights, together with a set of directional lights, under an aerodynamic glass cover. A station wagon ("Break") and factory convertible variant was also available.
Beyond doubt, the DS is one of the greatest design icons of automotive history.

            Odometer (unwarranted): 79000 mls
            Production period: 1971 - 1989

            Vehicle Description:
            • Stunning low-mileage Mercedes-Benz 560 SL
            • US model, as these cars were not offered in Germany when new
            • built in 1989, last year of the production run

            • the top model at the peak level of R 107 development

            Model History:
The Mercedes-Benz roadsters of the R107 series replaced the W113 "pagoda" in 1971. While the outgoing model only featured 6-cylinder engines, Mercedes had planned the new car with enough room for larger power plants under the bonnet, obviously with the North-American market as their main target - and indeed, that is where the SL proved most successful. Over a production run of a full 18 years, a total of 237,287 convertibles were built at the factory's Sindelfingen plant, most of them equipped with V8 engines of varying capacity as 350, 380, 420, 450, 500 and 560 SL. 6-cylinder models were also offered, originally as 280 SL from 1974-1985 and later as 300 SL from 1985-1989.
The 560 SL was produced exclusively for the Japanese, American and Australian markets. Even faster, however, was the 500 SL with its European specifications, which was not sold in the US due to emission restraints.
Through continuous innovation over the many model years, the R107 set plenty of standards. When it was finally replaced by the R129 in 1989, it was already becoming one of the perennial automobile classics.

              • very elegant Mercedes-Benz coupe, ready for instant registration

              Model History:
Maybe the most elegant Mercedes-Benz coupe of all times?
As of February 1961, the coupe and convertible variants of the W111 became available, initially using the same drivetrain as the sedan model 220 SE. They were referred to as 220 SEb/C. After that, engine sizes - and prices, too - of the coupes just kept going up. The 250 SE, 280 SE and 300 SE followed, and just before the end of the production run, the 350 SE.
In contrast to its predecessor, coupe and convertible are based on the unshortened carrier of the associated sedan and were thus a full four-seater. Coupe and sedan have also stylistically many similarities, but not one of the components of the four-door car could be used for the coupe or convertible. More than four times as many parts as for the sedan were made by hand for the coupes and convertibles.
These C-models were the last largely handmade Mercedes, which is why coupe and convertible prices were almost twice as high as that of the sedan.

                • licence-built by Santana, Spain
                • in regular use until 2013, then decomissioned and imported into Germany in 2016
                • major traces of use, as these vehicles were proper work horses, not meant to look pretty

                • not roadworthy, many components will have to be addressed
                • being offered as restoration project

                Model History:
After 68 years, Land Rover production finally came to a close, with the last "Defenders" rolling off the production line in Solihull, West Midlands, on 29 January 2016. By this time, just over 2 million of these trusty, iconic vehicles had been built. Their story had commenced in 1947, when Maurice Wilks, chief designer at Rover, harboured the idea of a simple, rugged vehicle that could be field-serviced, a farmer's car, a rover for the land. The name had stuck.
In the early post-war economy, steel was in short supply, so the body was made from an aluminum alloy. The basic construction with its ladder frame chassis meant that the Land Rover was very versatile, and indeed it was adapted for countless uses, military and civilian likewise.
Even though ownership of the brand changed rather frequently - from Rover to British Leyland to BMW to Ford to Tata Motors - the shape and basic principle of the Land Rover remained pretty much unaltered, continued technical improvements notwithstanding. As much a classless as a timeless car, the "Landy" has always been popular with her Majesty, the Queen, who is said to have owned Land Rovers since 1952.

From the autumn of 1971 onwards, the 450 SL is initially built for the US market. The production of the R 107 series ended in August 1989, more than 18 years after it had started. This makes it one of the longest-built chassis from Mercedes-Benz. A total of 237,287 open vehicles were produced at the Sindelfingen main plant.

                    Model History:
The classic Volkswagen Bus - more precisely the type 2. Germany's biggest export right after the VW Beetle.
There were two and a half generations of the Bus. The T2a variant was built from 1967 until 1971, the hybrid model T2a / b until 1972 and the T2b until 1979.
Westfalia had already made itself a name since 1951 with camping equipment for the T1 (the "camping box"). Since Volkswagen took variations into their VW T2 portfolio, Westfalia furnishings were very popular and widespread.
The model range varied over the years. From year 1969 on, the equipment got named after cities in addition to the number designations. From 1972 to 1973, versions for the US market got their names from cities in the United States.
Just a few minutes behind the wheel of a T2-Bullis and you feel again like 30 years ago. Portugal, Ireland, Italy, a rainy birthday with sparklers in the Tuscan hills - how long ago was that?

                      Model History:
The MG A was designed by Sidney Enever as early as 1951. After failing to obtain the go-ahead by the BMC chairman, the project got shelved, only to be brought back four years later when sales of the somewhat outdated T series were dropping. With its stunning looks, it quickly became the most successful British sports car of its time, with just over 100,000 cars made.
Engine-wise, the original 1489 cc was replaced with a 1588 cc in 1959 and then again in 1961 with a 1622 cc. Even though the A series is best known for its roadsters, a coupe version was available as of 1956, which, its richer features' list notwithstanding, never even remotely reached the popularity of the open variant.
In case you've been wondering: There's no way to lock the doors on the roadster, as they have neither lock nor handle. You simply reach in and pull a cord...
MG A prices have been continuously on the rise for the past 50 years straight.

                        Model History:
At the 1989 Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz presented the new SL from the R 129 series. Its predecessor had been on the market for no less than 18 years, so the target group was more than ready for the new car and received it enthusiastically - so much so that early customers had to put up with a delivery period of several years. The aerodynamical wedge-shape design by Bruno Sacco won the international "Car Design Award". Technologically, the new SL was very advanced, especially with regards to its safety features. They comprised a sensor-controlled automatic roll-over bar which would be raised within 0.3 seconds if needed, as well as integral seats.
The fabric top mechanism was no longer manually operated as it had been in the R 107, but electrohydraulically, it opened and closed within 30 seconds. The aluminium hardtop weighed about 10 kg less than the one of its predecessor.
The R 129 was available with a variety of engines, from 2.8 litres of capacity all the way up to 7.3 litres in the rare AMG V12 variants. A total of 204,940 examples were built over the course of 12 years, with two facelifts in 1995 and 1998, most of them equipped with V8 engines.

                            Model History:
Do you know a more elegant 4-seater convertible? We do not!
As of February 1961, the coupe and convertible variant of the W111 became available, initially using the same drivetrain as the sedan model 220 SE. They were referred to as 220 SEb / C.
These C-models were the last largely handmade Mercedes, which is why the price of coupes and convertibles were almost twice as high as that of the sedan.

                              Model History:
Beyond any doubt, the Ferrari Testarossa is one of the ultimate dream cars of the 1980s and 1990s. Is it due to its striking design - by Pininfarina, who else - with the exotic side gill slats? Is it because of the splendid, mid-mounted flat-12 engine? Or simply because for the vast majority of dreamers, it has always been, and continues to be, as unattainable as a flight to Mars?
Whatever the reason, this car has always been destined for a classic, right from its 1984 debut at the Paris Motor Show.
The "red head" - referring to the red-painted cylinder heads - addressed and solved the problems of its predecessor, the 512 BBi: The prominent "cheese grater" side strakes fed the dual radiators, thus preventing the cabin from overheating. It was also roomier, and significantly more powerful. The standard 0-100 km/h dash was achieved in 5.3 seconds.
After 7 years in production, the Testarossa was re-launched - almost an entirely new car - as 512 TR in 1991. The engine output had now reached 315 kW (428 hp). Another facelift in 1994 brought the F512 M, which remained in production until 1996. A total of nearly 10,000 Testarossa, 512 TR and F512 Ms were produced, making it one of the most successful Ferrari models ever.

                                Model History:
As early as 1957, the first prototype of Alfa Romeo's Giulietta Sprint Speciale, or SS, was presented at the Turin Motor Show. It took another two years until the beautifully shaped car - styled by Bertone - became available. Early models lack front and rear bumpers and have a lower nose. They also featured aluminium doors, bonnet and boot lid.
The lightweight body, combined with a very low drag coefficient of 0.28 and a 5-speed gearbox, enabled these coupes to reach a top speed of 124 mph - with an engine no larger than 1.3 litres of capacity, but equipped with hemispheric combustion chambers and twin overhead camshafts.
In 1963, the Giulia SS was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show. The wordplay implies that it was a grown-up version of the Giulietta, and indeed it came with a larger engine, which now produced 84 kW (112 hp) from 1.6 litres. The body, however, remained unchanged: There had been a prototype for a new Giulia SS, but it was not adopted.
Production came to a halt in 1965, except for one very last model which was completed in 1966. In total, 2,766 units were built, 1,366 of them Giulietta SS, 1,400 of them Giulia SS.
