A rare bound volume of Cricket and Football Times, From Vol. II No.28 to No.48, 7 November 1878 to 27 March 1879, being winter issues there is little cricket content within this volume until January with reports from the England cricket tour to Australia and New Zealand, for football the first issue reports on an experimental evening of floodlit football at The Oval in November 1878 between Clapham Rovers & Wanderers, also a full page supplement print of the England football captain A W Cursham of Notts County, the volume stops short of the date of the F.A. Cup Final but there is coverage up until the semi-final Old Etonians v Nottingham Forest, the term football also encompassing rugby union at this time

Raymond Glendenning, Sydney Ice, Dennis Compton, Barbara Meston, Stanley Newman, John Barrie, Jack Rea, Albert Brown, Sydney Lee, Walter Donaldson, Stanley Newman, Freddie Lawrence, Claude Falkiner, Joyce Gardner, Herbert Holt, Linda Joyce, Sydney Smith, Violet Lindrum, Dicky Law, Willie Smith and other unidentified; the cue is sold with a research document for the cue which included invaluable assistance from Peter Clare, Director of Thurston's in Liverpool, and also Peter Ainsworth of the English Association for Snooker and the late Ted Lowe. There is a suggestion that some of the autographs may have been collected after the initial signing of 1947.

McDONELL This medal is from the 2nd Louth Senior Football Championship. Young Irelands (Dundalk), the inaugural winners in 1887, won the competition again in 1888 - beating John Dillons. Dundalk Young Irelands also appeared in the very first All-Ireland Football Final where they were defeated by Commercials of Limerick.
