Extremely Rare Winchester Model 94 XTR Riverboat Gamblers Commemorative Five Gun Set

Lot # 1

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase the rarest Winchester Commemorative Set ever produced! Only forty of each gun were made and this set is number 6 of 40 with all five guns matching. The Riverboat Gamblers Set was produced in 1981 with 40 guns made for five cities that offered riverboat gambling. Cities include Memphis, TN; Saint Louis, Missouri; New Orleans, Louisiana; Natchez, Mississippi; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. On left side of each gun, there is a vintage scroll banner with the city name in gold inlay and a gold inlay riverboat accented by scroll engraving. Right side of each gun has a vintage scroll banner with the words one of forty, dice, and a gambling scene around a roulette wheel, all in gold inlay accented by scroll engraving. All five rifles are Winchester Model 94 XTR 30-30 caliber rifles. Specifications include 20-inch barrel, 13 inch LOP, 1.75 inch drop at comb, 2.5 inch drop at heel, weight of 6.5 pounds, and 1-12 rate of twist in barrel. All five guns are stocked in beautiful American walnut with XTR checkering. Guns are accented with gold barrel bands as well as gold trigger and hammer. These guns were made in New Haven, Connecticut and are Pre USRA Winchesters. All five guns still retain original hang tags. All five guns have all paperwork that was originally issued with the guns including owner's manual, purchase record card, service centers pamphlet, and Winchester hunters pocket guide. The original factory boxes with labels come with all five guns. These guns are still in factory new condition and unfired, near perfect in every way, other than some slight handling marks on the Saint Louis receiver and a slight handling mark on the tang of the Memphis gun. This set of guns was not originally issued as a set of five, and were sold individually, which makes this quite possibly the only matching numbered gun set in existence. Set is so rare it is not currently listed in the Blue Book of Gun Values. Other similar production quantity guns such as the Statue of Liberty Model 94 single gun, which had 62 total guns made, currently books for $12,500. Another example is the US Constitution 200th Anniversary Model 94 single gun, which had a total production of 19 guns, currently books for $22,500. Through our research, the only five gun gamblers series set that has been offered for sale in recent years, was a non-matching numbers set offered on gunbroker.com for $37,500. This truly could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Winchester collector to purchase this extremely rare set of commemoratives at auction with no reserve and extremely low starting bid!
