1993 Peugeot 205 RG Cab

Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 1 of 60)

Peugeot's leading model at the start of the 1980s, the 205 saved the French manufacturer from a difficult financial situation after its purchase of Chrysler Europe. With 5,278,300 cars built from 1982 to 1998, more 205s were produced than any other Peugeot... until the 206 did better still. Several body styles were available: 3 and 5-door hatchbacks, a small van and a convertible. And, in particular, the Roland Garros version. As the main sponsor of the famous tennis tournament, Peugeot developed a partnership with the organisers, whereby the manufacturer could use the tournament's name and image, while Roland Garros in turn benefitted from Peugeot's advertising power. And so, in May 1989, as the competition was about to begin, the first Roland Garros-branded edition of the 205 was launched. Equipped with a 1.4-litre engine developing 85bhp, it was unusually well-equipped for a car in its class, with electric windows and upholstery in white leather and cloth unique to the model, as well as additional exterior trim and green paintwork. The model proved so successful that it remained on sale until 1993. The 205 Roland Garros which we are offering for sale has covered only 12,700km since it was delivered new to a lady owner in the Italian province of San Remo. As a result, it is in as new condition. The body, paintwork, hood, interior trim and engine are all absolutely faultless. It would be impossible to find another 205 Roland Garros Convertible for sale in similar condition. This is a rare opportunity, which should not be missed, to acquire a car whose charm and image have remained intact.

1990 Jaguar XJS Cabriolet V12

Lot # 2 (Sale Order: 2 of 60)

Steeped in the glory which its iconic E-Type had brought it, Jaguar sought a worthy replacement for that remarkable model, and in 1969 set to work on the project codenamed XJ 27. But it was only on 10 September 1975 that Coventry's new GT was revealed to the press. The XJ-S Coupé was equipped with the 5.3-litre V12 engine producing 285bhp. Its chassis - based on that of the XJ saloons - was a strong point of this charming coupé and favoured balanced handling and comfort. It was ably supported by the car's smooth, quiet running and the generous level of standard equipment. As far as the bodywork was concerned, in 1983 Jaguar commissioned the English coachbuilder Tickford to build a Targa- type convertible known as the XJ-SC. Initially offered with a 3.6- litre engine, this convertible version received the V12 in 1985. It was only in the spring of 1988, 13 years after the Coupé had been launched, that Jaguar officially presented a full convertible version, which was produced in association with the coachbuilder Karmann. The XJ-S which we are offering for sale is equipped with the 5.3-litre V12 developing 290bhp, married to an automatic gearbox. Its history file shows that it was delivered new on 20 December 1990 to Madame Desenfants in Caen by the Jaguar dealership JFG. Having covered only 36,986km (22,982 miles) since new, it still has its original dark blue paintwork, which is quite flawless. Its elegant appearance is further set off by its leather interior and light beige carpets, which are in perfect condition. The car still has its original sales invoice and is truly a ‘time capsule'. This is therefore a splendid opportunity to acquire one of the finest classic Jaguars, presented in a condition which is far superior to that of similar cars on the market.

2000 BMW Z3 2,2

Lot # 3 (Sale Order: 3 of 60)

After the Z1 roadster introduced at the end of the 1980s, BMW conceived a new more affordable version of it, primarily intended for the North American market, which was keen on this type of car. The Z3 roadster came into being and went on to enjoy a successful career. In 1995, the first four-cylinder versions - a 1.8i developing 115bhp and a 1.9i producing 140bhp - went on sale, backed by a promotional campaign which was as powerful as it was surprising, as the Z3 was none other than James Bond's latest ride in his most recent film Goldeneye. The neo-retro lines of BMW's roadster, designed by Joji Nagashima, were one of its strong points. Nagashima drew his inspiration from the legendary 507 roadster, borrowing its side grilles in the front wings and giving his design a look which was at once finely wrought and muscular. The Z3 proved so successful that BMW wasted little time in taking the car up-market, installing six-cylinder engines ranging from 2 to 3.2 litres in the case of the M version. The model we are offering for sale has the 2.2-litre six-cylinder unit developing 170bhp. Built in 2000, it benefits from the facelift which the Z3 received the previous year. Above all, however, it stands out for its most unusual lagoon blue paintwork, part of the personalised look the owner wanted to achieve. Perfectly carried out, it is combined with an interior (seats, dashboard and steering wheel) covered in a magnificent two-tone leather (lagoon blue and white) which remains in superb condition. The carpets (also in lagoon blue), white hood and black alloy wheels round off the very exclusive appearance of the whole car. It looks quite amazing! Its service book confirms that it has been regularly maintained; moreover, this Z3 with its strong personality (with an engine to go with its looks) has a very low original mileage of just 41,400km (25,700 miles). This is therefore a great opportunity to drive off into the sun in a car which is unusual, quick and highly affordable.

1952 Citroen Traction 11B

Lot # 4 (Sale Order: 4 of 60)

Following several different versions, the 11B was introduced in 1937. Longer, wider and heavier than the 11BL, production of this version stopped during the Second World War and restarted in March 1947. In 1952, this large and comfortable car, which suffered from a small luggage compartment, received a larger boot with a rounded lid. At last, a family could travel without having to load its luggage onto a roof rack. The ‘Traction Avant' admittedly lost the smooth lines designed by Bertoni, but it gained in practicality and helped regenerate interest in Citroën's saloon. The ‘Traction Avant' 11B which we are offering for sale was acquired in 2012 for the modest sum of €40,037 at an auction devoted to the Reserve Collection of the Cars of HSH The Prince of Monaco! It then bore the registration number ‘PM' (for the Palace of Monaco) and was part of the car collection of HSH Prince Rainier. Still in excellent condition, this ‘Traction Avant' was restored more than 20 years ago by the craftsmen of the royal household, and testifies to the quality of their work at the time. The car has been driven regularly over short distances, and the mechanical components of the car and traditional cloth upholstery of ‘Traction Avant' models of that period have remained in fine condition. The headlining, in grey wool, also presents very well. The bumpers are 15CV parts. Developing 56bhp, the 11'Perfo' engine ensures that the car is pleasant to drive and uncompromisingly unreliable. A motoring icon, the ‘Traction Avant' was good-looking, innovative and reliable, and delivered excellent performance. Symbolising the manufacturer known for its double chevron, this car was serviced at the start of the year and is one of the finest examples on the market.

A true icon and part of our collective memory, the history of the car popularly known as the ‘Traction Avant' is indelibly linked to the Occupation, when it was used in turn by the Gestapo and the Resistance.

1953 Mercedes-Benz 300 Adenauer

Lot # 5 (Sale Order: 5 of 60)

Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1951, the Mercedes 300 was Mercedes-Benz' first new model since the end of the Second World War. It was a luxurious and technologically advanced car aimed at heads of state and wealthy private customers. It offered a remarkable combination for its time of exemplary roadholding and first-class comfort. The designation ‘Adenauer', applied to the 300 saloon and cabriolet, came from the name of the German Chancellor, Konrad Adenauer, who used six of them during his time in office. Sold new in Switzerland to Georges Gran and first registered on 28 April 1953, the car we are offering for sale was sold on there in 2005 and then registered in France. It is in excellent condition: its paintwork was redone several years ago and now has a most attractive gentle patina, while the upholstery has undergone a first-class renovation. An older valuation report indicates that a mechanical overhaul was carried out in 1978. Despite its lack of recent use, the Mercedes drove well on test. Fitted with a manual gearbox and interior air vents, this ‘Adenauer' has clearly been little used and has been sympathetically restored. Its overall condition and original olive-green paintwork make it particularly interesting. As one of the 181 cars built in 1953, it is a rare model, much sought-after by fans of the threepointed star.

Lot # 6 (Sale Order: 6 of 60)

Launched in 1934 to revive Citroën's sales, the ‘Traction Avant' - the name it acquired for posterity on account of its front-wheel drive layout, which was rare on cars in its category at the time - had bodywork styled by the designer Flaminio Bertoni. But the real innovation which Citroën introduced in its new model lay in the combination of the most modern solutions of the period: as well as front-wheel drive, it had a monocoque body, hydraulic brakes and independent suspension on all four wheels. Continuously improved by its designer, the engineer André Lefèbvre, the ‘Traction Avant' moved upmarket with increasingly powerful engines. The 7A versions (rated at 7 fiscal horsepower) were succeeded by the 7B and 7C (9hp) and then the 7S and 11AL/11A models (11hp). In February 1937, the 11BL (signifying ‘berline légère' or light saloon) followed the 11AL. But production was interrupted by the war and only resumed in 1945. This 1951 11BL ‘Perfo' model has undergone a personalised restoration to create a unique car. Displayed for many years in a motorcycle museum in southern France, the bodywork was entirely stripped back and then painted in a duotone brown and cream finish, with a matching interior. The seats and door cards are trimmed in brown leather. The dashboard features the correct double chevron trim, while the two-spoke steering wheel and gear knob are both covered in leather. This ‘Traction Avant' is showing a recorded mileage of just 51,000km (31,700 miles) and benefits from the extensive work carried out on it, giving it a unique character which will surely appeal to a lover of exclusive cars.

1969 VW Coccinelle Cabriolet A

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 7 of 60)

The origins of the ‘Beetle' go back to 1930s Germany and the plan to build a popular car which every German could afford. Hence its name of Volkswagen (‘people's car'), which, before becoming the name of its manufacturer, was applied to the model on which the company's success would be built. Designed by the Austrian engineer Ferdinand Porsche, the Volkswagen Type 1 (its official designation) had a rear-engined layout, with a transaxle and air-cooled four-cylinder engine mounted behind the rear axle, and rounded bodywork developed by Erwin Komenda, the famous Porsche designer. Unveiled in 1938 and used initially as a propaganda tool by the Nazi regime, after the war it became exceptional for its long career and wide distribution, with 21,529,464 units produced around the world from 1939 to 2003. It was only in 1948 that industrial production of the model which would become known as the ‘Beetle' began. It was an immediate international success. Introduced in 1949, the four-seat convertible version bodied by Karmann also enjoyed considerable success. The car we are presenting is one of these models, and one of the few versions to be equipped with automatic transmission, which in this case has been completely overhauled and functions perfectly. This convertible has a remarkable standard of finish in every respect. Its bodywork was entirely stripped back before being repainted in a most attractive cream finish. It was reupholstered with leather in the same colour and an exclusive, personalised quilted style, with the door cards trimmed to match. Its engine compartment is clinically clean, with stainless steel parts used throughout, while the hood fabric is impeccable. In other words, our supposedly ‘popular' model has received an up-market makeover, transforming it into an exceedingly rare and highly exclusive Beetle Convertible.

1991 Porsche 928 GT

Lot # 8 (Sale Order: 8 of 60)

The 928 grew out of the desire of Porsche's directors at the time, and in particular that of Ernst Fuhrmann, who had developed the twin-cam flat-four engine in the Porsche 550 and 718, to put an end to their reliance solely on the 911, believing that its design with the engine mounted behind the rear axle had no future. The company therefore opted for the concept of a GT with a water-cooled front engine, and started the project in 1971. As soon as it was launched in the autumn of 1977, the 928, the first Porsche to be powered by a V8 engine (to satisfy the American market), established itself as the new benchmark for GT cars, and was even elected European Car of the Year in 1978. For all that, the 240bhp produced by the 4.5-litre V8 was hardly too much for this GT weighing 3480lb. Very quickly therefore the range gained extra power and equipment. The 928 GT joined the range from 1989 to 1991 as a sportier model, developing 330bhp at 6200rpm. With new, lighter forged magnesium alloy wheels, Bilstein Sport B6 shock absorbers and a new electronically controlled limited-slip differential, this was the version of choice for owners who enjoyed sporty driving. The model which we are offering for sale is special in that it belonged to one of France's most popular singers, who was a great fan of sports cars. The history with the car confirms that this Porsche 928 GT was delivered new by the Marceau Porsche dealership in Paris to Jean-Philippe Smet, better known as Johnny Hallyday. With its strong personality, this Porsche gave its different owners much pleasure and quite understandably shows more than 100,000km (62,000 miles) on the clock. Its service booklet is completely up-to-date, confirming that it has been regularly maintained. In addition, its body was recently resprayed in its original metallic grey, its leather interior has a perfect patina and it is fitted with a sunroof, a rare option at the time. Clearly, its sporting pedigree, excellent overall condition and the name of its first owner make this Porsche 928 GT an especially attractive example. In the words of one of Johnny's songs, light the fire!

1999 BMW Z3M

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 60)

“Striking looks and ample power, making it a breathtaking pleasure to drive.”... That is how you might sum up the BMW Z3 M in a few words. Introduced in 1996 at the Geneva Motor Show, the roadster was equipped with the 3201cc six-cylinder in-line BMW ‘M Power' engine, one of the finest units built by the Motorsport department. Boasting maximum power of 321bhp and peak torque of 350Nm, at the time it had the highest specific output of any six-cylinder in-line production engine in BMW's history. Powered by this engine, and weighing more than 200 pounds less than the M3, the Z3 M shot from 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds! Often likened to a modern-day Cobra, the Z3 M is an uncompromising car that delivers exceptional performance. Sold new in 1999 in Woodcliff Lake, Pennsylvania, our car had only two previous owners before joining the Parisian collection which we are offering for sale today. Looking magnificent in its white paintwork and still equipped with its rare hardtop, the car has lost none of its charm. Its interior in black and red leather is in excellent condition. Extremely well equipped, the car has always been regularly maintained and still has its service booklet and both sets of keys. Last June, BMW replaced the clutch and flywheel, while more recently its owner had the car thoroughly detailed in order to restore the shine to its paintwork and feed its leather interior. With just 125,000 miles (200,000km) recorded, only 3557 units of this BMW Z3 M Roadster were built, and today it is a sought-after model in the classic car market. With its unusual finish and complete service history, its attractive price estimate is certain to appeal to all those looking for thrills behind the wheel.

2001 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante

Lot # 10 (Sale Order: 10 of 60)

Launched in 1993, the Aston Martin DB7 literally saved the manufacturer from bankruptcy. Magnificently styled, well finished and quick, the model proved a success. The man responsible for Aston Martin's resurrection in the 1980s, Victor Gauntlett understood that for the business to survive and to bring out new models, the company needed to increase its output with a more modern and practical car. Beginning in this way in 1990, the project was made possible thanks to the investment made by the giant Ford group in the English firm. Design work and engineering development were entrusted to the TWR Group (Tom Walkinshaw Racing), which was enjoying much success at the time with its official Jaguar XJR models in the World Sportscar Championship. At last, in March 1993, the DB7 was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show. It was equipped with a light-alloy 3228cc straight-six engine with dual overhead camshafts, producing 335bhp. It would be 1999 before a high-performance version came out: the DB7 V12 Vantage, the first ever Aston to be powered by a V12 engine. It was a six-litre unit developing 420bhp. The Volante variant (the name given by Aston to its convertibles) followed. With just 2046 units built, it is a rare and sought-after version, but prices remain affordable. The model which we are offering for sale was first registered in Florida in June 2001 and was owned by a major American collector for nearly seven years, before he replaced it with a Zagato version in 2008. Staying in Florida, it changed hands in 2008 and 2013, as can be seen from the service book and invoices with the car. It was never involved in an accident and was always carefully maintained before being imported into France. Dispatched at once to Aston Martin Paris, a service costing more than 3500 euros was carried out, and last April both rear tyres were replaced. Elegantly finished in metallic dark blue, set off by its interior in two-tone blue and beige leather, which is in perfect condition, this Aston Martin DB7 Volante is certainly one of the most attractive 2+2 convertibles to be fitted with a V12 engine. On test, the car handled exceedingly well, the operation of its Touchtronic automatic transmission proving ideally suited to the character of this Aston Martin. There can be no doubt that this model's numerous qualities will see its value climb rapidly in the years to come.

2005 Aston Martin Vanquish

Lot # 11 (Sale Order: 11 of 60)

A year after launching the DB7 V12 Vantage, the first-ever V12-powered Aston Martin, the British manufacturer stepped up a notch and presented the Vanquish. Whereas the DB7 was intended to appear elegant and racy, the Vanquish had an alluring, muscular look which was the fruit of its designer Ian Callum's imagination. The new Aston's massive tail gave an impression of power, a feeling heightened by its 19-inch wheels, shod with 255/40 ZR19 tyres at the front and 285/45 ZR19's at the back. Its aerodynamics were carefully designed, notably with a flat underbody creating a ground effect and generating additional downforce at high speed. The front of the car had a more pronounced visual identity, with a sculpted radiator grille hinting at its brutish temperament. Under the bonnet, the Vanquish used a modified version of the V12 from the DB7 Vantage, with power increased by more than 40bhp to a total of 466bhp. Above all though, the Vanquish was built around an entirely new chassis, designed in part by Lotus Engineering and made from aluminium and carbon fibre, ensuring greater strength, rigidity and safety. Its sequential gearbox with paddle shifters, oversized Brembo brakes and traditional British interior, with the use of aluminium to replace walnut veneer bringing a modern touch... all these additional features underscored its sporty character and refinement. Just 1492 units of the Vanquish were built between 2001 and 19 July 2007, fewer than half as many as its main rival at the time, the Ferrari 550 Maranello! The model which we are offering for sale spent most of its life in California, passing through the hands of three successive owners in 2005, 2008 and 2014, as its history file shows. Its service booklet is still present and indicates that it was serviced on a very regular basis, without experiencing any problems. With slightly over 23,000 miles (35,000km) recorded today, the Aston has just received a new set of Pirelli P Zero tyres; it was given a general service last April, at which the engine oil and sparkplugs were changed and the suspension checked over. The last true hand-built Aston Martin, the Vanquish soon came to be regarded as one of the most beautiful and capable cars of its generation. Extremely well specified, with all its original equipment, and presented in a stylish and sober combination of black paintwork and black leather interior, this Vanquish will bring its new custodian the exclusive pleasure of owning a superb and rare GT, offering excellent performance.

1985 BMW M635 CSI

Lot # 12 (Sale Order: 12 of 60)

While the ‘M' saga began with the M1, developed specifically for motorsport, the first production model to take advantage of the expertise of BMW's Motorsport department was the E24 635 CSi coupé. BMW's 6-Series coupé was already much appreciated for its comfort, roomy interior and flexible, tuneful engines, as well as for its racy lines - penned by the French designer Paul Bracq - and sharklike nose, but it fell short on performance. The Motorsport department gave it a boost when it launched the M635 CSi at the end of 1984. This benefitted from the legendary 3.5-litre M88 six-cylinder engine from the M1, with a 24-valve aluminium head, which produced 286bhp at 6500rpm, taking it from 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 162mph. With production limited to 3500 cars in left-hand drive, its natural qualities as a reliable and usable up-market GT, together with its powerful engine with a captivating soundtrack that any enthusiast will enjoy, the M635 CSi is a sound investment in the classic car market and of late has been steadily increasing in value. The model which we are offering for sale is from 1985 and belongs to the first generation of this series, which was built until the end of 1988. Purchased by its current owner, a great enthusiast for the Bavarian marque, in 2011, the car is solid and in good used condition. Regularly maintained, there are service bills dating back to 1998, when the car had covered 77,483 miles (124,696km); today, it has just over 90,000 miles (145,000km) on the clock. Most recently, the brake discs and pads were replaced, along with the tyres. In 2011, the clutch slave cylinder, sparkplugs and filters were all changed. In the past, its previous owner had swapped its original alloy wheels for 16-inch BBStype rims with a polished edge. The car handles just as you would expect of a BMW, while its black leather interior is in fine condition, as is the engine compartment. The engine itself is every bit as good: our road test confirmed that its six cylinders sound as fine as any!

1971 Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF

Lot # 13 (Sale Order: 13 of 60)

Derived from the Fulvia saloon, the coupé was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1965. Designed by Pietro Castagnero, its lines were both more flowing and more sporting. Within a short time, Cesare Fiorio, the head of the Squadra Corse HF Lancia racing team, clamoured for his management to let him take advantage of the Fulvia coupé's performance in motorsport. In 1966, the first Fulvia 1.2 HF for competition appeared, followed two years later by the 1.6 HF production model. The 1.6 HF arrived at the same time as Lancia was taken over by Fiat, which resulted in increased investment in competition and, as a crowning glory, victory in the World Rally Championship in 1972, as well as many other wins until 1974. Altogether, 3690 1600 HF and HF Lusso coupés were built, until production of the Lancia Fulvia HF coupé ended in January 1973. The model which we are offering for sale was first registered in France on 10 December 1971 by Madame Madeleine Boucher in the Gers ‘département'. She kept it for 28 years, before selling it to its current owner in November 2007, making it a rare two-owner car. Thanks to the comprehensive history file with the car, which includes a copy of the original registration certificate and photographs taken in period, it can be seen that the car was in excellent original condition. Never repainted or modified, the car was running perfectly and had 69,792km (43,367 miles) on the clock. In order to take part in historic motorsport events, the car was then completely stripped down (supported by photographic records) and restored. As the body was very solid, it was simply repainted in its original colour. The engine, gearbox, running gear, brakes, fuel tank and system were all entirely stripped down and refurbished. In addition to the photographic record, all the work was documented and each part listed. In the end, more than €22,000 was invested. The car has a Historic Technical Passport (valid since 2009), while its original interior - in perfect condition - will also be handed over to its new owner. With its lengthy list of successes in competition, the Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF left its mark on its era and remains to this day one of the flagships of the make, just like the Stratos which took its place in motorsport.

Two previous owners, clear history Well prepared for competition and in perfect running order Spirited, high-performance engine Eligible for the Tour Auto, Monte Carlo Historique...

Lotus Eleven S2

Lot # 14 (Sale Order: 14 of 60)

With 270 cars built by Lotus between 1956 and 1958, the Eleven was intended for sprint and endurance racing for smaller-engined cars. True to the philosophy of Colin Chapman, the founder of the marque, who favoured light weight and aerodynamic efficiency in the design of his cars, the Eleven had a tubular steel space frame chassis and a slender aluminium body. Depending on the version, it was equipped with a 1098cc Coventry Climax FWA engine producing 75-85bhp or the 1460cc FWB developing 100bhp, with a total weight of about 990lb. In 1957, the Series 2 made its appearance: it featured significant improvements to the chassis in order to handle the increased power of the 1475cc Coventry Climax FPF racing engine, which produced over 140bhp. Its front suspension was fitted with double wishbones, as used on the Lotus 12 Formula 2 racing car. In 1956 and 1957, the Eleven won the 1100c category at Le Mans. In 1957, with a little 744cc Coventry Climax FWC engine, it also claimed victory in the 750cc category and in the Index of Performance. In the same year, it won the 1100cc category in the 12 Hours of Sebring race, with Colin Chapman part of the team. The Lotus Eleven which we are offering for sale is a 1958 Series 2 model, chassis number 533, among the last cars built. It was imported into the United States by the Los Angeles dealers Jay Chamberlin and Bob Challman and sold to Peter Brock, who was then an amateur racing driver, but who would become known above all for his design work on the Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupé and the Corvette Sting

Ray. Fitted with the 1100cc Coventry Climax engine, Peter Brock raced it with some success for several years. As time passed it became less competitive against newer cars and was finally sold in 1979 to George Paulus in Chicago, before being acquired in May 2000 by an English enthusiast, Mike Brotherwood, through a Florida- based specialist, Stephen Yanoshik. In December of the same year, it was bought by Peter Whyte, who had it restored in 2001 to compete on a regular basis in the races organised by the Vintage Sports Car Club (its certificate from April 2002 is part of the documentation which will be supplied with the car). The car was then sold to the Ely's in Essex before being sold again to its current owner in France in December 2010. The current owner entrusted the maintenance and race preparation of the car to the specialist Gildas Dréhan in Brittany; he also provided technical support during the various historic events in which the car was entered. The Lotus XI competed in many famous historic races, such as Le Mans Classic in 2012 (where it was 29th of 71 starters) and 2014 (15th of 75) in grid 3, as well as the Sixties Endurance grids in the races organised by Peter Auto; now, it asks only to race once again. During our test of the car on the speed ring at Montlhéry, it proved its excellent mechanical condition and effectiveness on the track. Now fitted with a 1500cc engine, the car was serviced prior to the auction and is in perfect order. Well known to the Lotus Club and Lotus Register, it has French registration papers (as a historic vehicle) and will be supplied with various spares, including a second tail panel, details of its history and its Historic Technical Passport. 1955 Ashley 1172 Roadster

Lot # 15 (Sale Order: 15 of 60)

Like Ginetta, TVR and others, Ashley was one of those small British manufacturers who made a name for themselves in the 1950s building sports car bodies in fibreglass. A new material at the time, it had the advantage of being light in weight and ideally suited to lowvolume production. Ashley Laminates was founded by Keith Waddington and Peter Pallandine in 1955. Four models emerged from their workshops from then until 1962. The first, the 750, was a roadster body designed for pre-war Austin Seven chassis equipped with a 747cc engine. Next came the Racer Sports, produced for a few months from 1956 until Pallandine left the company. This then became the Falcon Mark II. Designed essentially for motorsport, it could be mated to an Elva chassis. The 1172, which arrived in 1958, was available based on various Ford models (Anglia, Popular and Prefect) and was sold as a convertible with an optional hardtop, and later as a coupé, with either two or four seats, depending on the chassis chosen. These cars could be fitted with the 1172cc Ford engine or the MGA or ‘A-Series' engines produced by BMC. The car which we are offering for sale underwent a complete restoration three years ago, after its current owner bought it in 2010 as a nonrunner. According to the history file in our possession, one of the documents mentions that its previous keeper had owned it since the 1950s! The car still has its 1172cc Ford Aquaplane Superhead engine and a three-speed Ford gearbox, both matching the original specification. It is in excellent overall condition and drives perfectly. A rare car, which is fun to drive, it is a credible alternative to the sports racing cars produced by Elva, Lotus and Ginetta in the same period, and more affordable too.

It goes without saying that this car's performance and nimble handling have seen it claim overall victory in the Tour Auto on many occasions when faced with much more powerful rivals! Ready to take to the track once again, this Lotus Elan 26R is a true racing car. Eligible for the top events on the historic motorsport calendar, it will be delivered to its new owner with two additional sets of wheels and tyres and all its invoices and technical documentation.

1936 MG TA Q-Type

Lot # 17 (Sale Order: 17 of 60)

Produced exclusively for competition, it is believed that only eight ‘Q-Type' models were built in MG's workshops in Abingdon at the end of 1934. Based on the chassis used for the MG K3, the ‘Q-Type' was fitted with the four-cylinder engine from the ‘P-Type', with a special crankshaft which allowed the capacity to be reduced to 746cc, and a high-pressure Zoller supercharger enabling the engine to develop 113bhp. A Sprint version putting out 146bhp was also built: at nearly 200bhp per litre, this represented the highest specific output in the world at the time. Driven by George Harvey-Noble, a single- seat version lapped the race track at Brooklands at 122mph! On the other side of the Channel, Steve Baker, an enthusiast for the make, has become a specialist in restoring and preparing MGs, establishing an excellent reputation for the quality of his work. He has a predilection for the TA, TB, TC and TD models, among them this 1937 TA which has been rebuilt as a ‘Q-Type'. True to the approach which MG took with its racing models at the time, this right-hand drive car is fitted with a five-speed Ford gearbox with synchromesh and a supercharged 1200cc engine, giving it a lively character and strong performance. During our test it performed impeccably, and even though the brakes work as (in) effectively as they did back in the day, the car remains easy to drive. Its handling is safe and playful, but never catches the driver off guard, even at high speed. It is important to note that this model was Steve Baker's personal car. The faultless quality of its construction leaves no doubt as to the special care taken over its design. As well as its appearance, its patina and the typical sound of its engine give the car a unique look and style. It became part of a fine collection of pre-war cars in France at the end of 2010, and was then sold in November 2013 to its current owner, a demanding collector and experienced driver who took part in several historic events with it. It is the ideal vehicle with which to enjoy the finest historic rallies or trips in the fresh air on mountain roads. It should be noted that this MG TA ‘Q-Type' comes with French registration papers and that its original wings, which are in excellent condition, will also be supplied.

1939 Georges Irat 11CV

Lot # 18 (Sale Order: 18 of 60)

It was in 1922 that Georges Irat built the first car bearing his name. Very quickly, his cars came to be considered the best two-litre models of the 1920s on account of their technical specifications, performance and strong construction. His success with the public was confirmed in competition, where his cars soon excelled, not least in the first edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours race in 1923... Little by little, and despite a financial situation which was always difficult, Georges Irat devoted his remaining resources to a car which was radically different from his previous models, a lightweight front-wheel drive roadster! Very low-slung, with racy lines and a magnificent design, this FWD roadster with all-round independent suspension was equipped with the latest version of the durable Ruby pushrod engine. Once again, it received excellent reviews, especially in its most fully developed 11CV OLC3 version. Fitted with the engine from the Citroën Traction Avant, it at last had an engine to match its excellent ride and handling and enjoyed considerable success until the Second World War brought its career to an end. Dating from 1939, this rare 11CV OLC3 cabriolet is one of the very last built before the Second World War. Well known to the club, it has been in its current ownership since 2007. Completely restored in 2003 by its previous owner in the workshops of Roger Blai in the Orne ‘département', the car now has an elegant patina well-suited to its prewar bodywork. Roomy and comfortable, the interior is just as attractive. In the centre, its dashboard includes all the instruments which are helpful when driving, while the upholstery and wood trim are in good condition. One important detail is that the hood is disconcertingly easy to operate for a car from this era. With a scrupulous respect for originality, no modifications have been made to the engine or any other mechanical components. For all that, the 11CV's performance is far superior to that of many cars from the 1950s! Regularly used and maintained, the brakes and gearbox were overhauled in July 2013. There can be no doubt that it is as attractively styled and good to drive as many six-cylinder models from the likes of Delage or Delahaye. As well as being rare, comfortable, reliable and offering good performance, this car will delight its new owner, who will greatly enjoy their time at its wheel.

1933 Delage D6-11

Lot # 19 (Sale Order: 19 of 60)

When the D6-11 went on sale at the Paris Motor Show in 1932, it carried with it all the hopes of Delage's management. The car had independent front suspension and was fitted with a two-litre six-cylinder engine. Its styling was a successful blend of elegance and sportiness, thanks to its long bonnet and its low windscreen and roofline. It gave the impression of being a large-engined car, and yet the bonnet concealed a two-litre six-cylinder engine. The engine was a pushrod unit with overhead valves, and the car had independent front suspension. It therefore lived up to the reputation of the marque, by combining technical refinement and a certain image of luxury à la française. Despite its technological strengths and being sold at a very attractive price, it came too late to save the manufacturer from bankruptcy. The era of such grand automobiles was gradually drawing to a close. And the severe financial crisis which had struck the United States in 1929 was now at its height in France. It was a great shame, since it was amazingly modern when compared with its competitors. Its unusually stylish bodywork ensured that it would stand out in concours d'élégance even without passing through the body shops of the great coachbuilders like Vanvooren, Letourneur & Marchand, Chapron or Figoni. The model which we are offering for sale is a rare Delage D6-11 Cabriolet Mylord from 1933, with bodywork by Letourneur & Marchand. This French coachbuilder, which was already in business during the first decade of the century, began to stand out at the start of the 1930s thanks to its slender, perfectly proportioned creations. Based in Neuilly-sur-Seine, the company soon got itself noticed and built bodies on chassis from Duesenberg, Hispano-Suiza, Minerva and Rolls-Royce for the great and the good. As well as being elegantly styled, this left-hand drive Mylord convertible may be driven with its hood in one of three different positions: completely closed, fully open or just rolled back above the driver, leaving the passengers sheltered from the wind in a rear compartment worthy of the most prestigious cars of the time. A solid, complete car to begin with, it was fully restored from the chassis up in the 2000s by its previous owner. As he wished to use the car regularly with his family, it was fitted at this time with a 2-litre, 115bhp Opel engine and a five-speed gearbox, while the original brakes were replaced by new ones from a Mercedes. Naturally, all the original parts have been kept and the conversion can be reversed, in the knowledge that the original Delage engine and gearbox have been rebuilt. Recorded in an extensive file, the work carried out, owner's manuals and parts stocklist may be consulted with a view to restoring this car to its original specification. In its current ownership since 2012, the car has taken part in many rallies organised by the club ‘Les Amis de Delage' and has been displayed on numerous occasions at classic car events. Its owner told us with some amusement that he was the only person able to drive to the starting point of these rallies from his home in south-east France. In perfect mechanical condition, complete with all its interior fittings and incredibly beautiful, this Delage will give its new owner the chance to restore it easily to its original specification, or to enjoy all the charm of a pre-war car with the peace of mind and reliability of a modern vehicle...

1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster

Lot # 20 (Sale Order: 20 of 60)

Even though the Second World War had gutted the country's car production facilities, many manufacturers saw this period as an opportunity to launch a new generation of cars. In 1948, when few sports cars were available on the market, the Coventry firm introduced the XK 120. Shaped by the wind and powered by a new twin-cam engine developing 160bhp, the new model took its name from the amazing top speed it could reach of 120 miles per hour. The car soon won fame on major circuits, and even here on the speed ring at Montlhéry, where it covered more than 16,000 miles without a break at an average speed of 100mph. Its extremely attractive price for the time (half that of an Alfa Romeo 6C) ensured it was a commercial success, especially in the United States, which was its most important market. The bodywork of the model we are offering for sale is in very good overall condition. Its excellent red paintwork underlines the car's sporting character, while its beige leather upholstery is also most elegant, as are its carpets and interior trim. Its walnut-veneered dashboard is in the correct original specification, complete with all its Smiths instruments. The Jaguar has its original steering wheel, as well as a new beige hood - which is lined and of excellent quality - and tonneau cover. This drophead coupé offers balanced handling and proved highly satisfactory on test. Following a major restoration from 2004 to 2006, its current owner - as demanding as he is passionate about the marque - has continued to lavish care on the car, which is still equipped with its three Weber carburettors. With 12,000 cars built from 1948 to 1954, this exclusive convertible has one of the most elegant bodies of its time. Its aerodynamic styling recalls that of the Bugatti 57 SC or the designs of the coachbuilder Pourtout, so flowing and perfectly drawn are its lines. This is a unique opportunity to become the owner of one of the most accomplished English convertibles.

1973 Lamborghini Urraco P250S

Lot # 21 (Sale Order: 21 of 60)

Delivered new on 15 October 1973 to the Willemin dealership in Switzerland, this Lamborghini Urraco P250 S is chassis number 15440, making it the 212th of 336 cars built. With equipment including leather seats, electric windows, air conditioning and metallic paint, the P250 S was more luxurious than the standard version, and faster too, thanks to the fitting of bigger Weber 40 DCNF carburettors. The model we are offering for sale still has its original Rosso Granada paintwork, which goes perfectly with its Havana (Senape) leather interior. In sound condition, its bodywork was probably restored about ten years ago, while the interior is original. The leather upholstery is in good condition, only the driver's seat showing signs of wear. The suede dashboard cover picks up the dirt easily and should be cleaned or replaced outright. It would also be worth removing the radio installation and replacing the carpets. The car started perfectly on the day of our test and ran absolutely fine, but we would recommend carrying out a thorough service before undertaking a long journey with it. The car has Swiss registration papers and was cleared through customs in Belgium in 2015. Rare, complete and in a superb colour combination, this P250 S represents an excellent opportunity.

1973 Lamborghini Urraco P250

Lot # 22 (Sale Order: 22 of 60)

Following the success of the Muira and Espada models launched in the mid- 1960s, Ferruccio Lamborghini set to work on a new and more affordable model intended to compete with the Porsche 911 and Ferrari Dino 246. The new Lamborghini was given the name ‘Urraco' and its styling entrusted to Bertone's designer, Marcello Gandini. Shown at the Turin Motor Show in 1970, the ‘small' Lamborghini attracted a large number of advance orders. Significant technical and financial problems, however, forced ‘Il Cavaliere' to sell 51% of his automotive business to the Swiss industrialist Georges-Henri Rossetti and to delay the introduction of his new model until 1973 (in the middle of the oil crisis). The model which concerns us today is a P250, the first model in the series, built for the European market on 15 June 1973. It was delivered that same year to a Mr Graig, finished in the same elegant Bianco paintwork which it sports today. According to the factory datasheet, it was ordered with air conditioning, an option still fitted to the car. While the design of this sports coupé remains as good-looking and elegant as ever, its body is starting to show signs of corrosion on the sills and rear apron which should be dealt with. The interior is in good condition and needs only a thorough clean. On the day of our test, the car started without hesitation, its V8 turning over smoothly and the gearbox proving easy to use. That said, a thorough service of its suspension and mechanical components should be carried out before the car is driven again. Complete (an important consideration given the price and difficulty of obtaining replacement parts), and in sound condition bearing in mind that it has been off the road, this P250 is the 110th of 520 cars built. It therefore represents a superb opportunity to acquire a rare car which is steadily increasing in value. acquire a rare car which is steadily increasing in value.
Following the success of the Muira and Espada models launched in the mid- 1960s, Ferruccio Lamborghini set to work on a new and more affordable model intended to compete...more with the Porsche 911 and Ferrari Dino 246. 1969 Maserati Mistral 4000

Lot # 23 (Sale Order: 23 of 60)

It was the first Maserati to bear the name of a wind, and a French wind to boot. Introduced at the Turin Motor Show in 1963, it was initially christened the 3500 GT 2 Posti (two-seater), a name which it kept for its first year. It was the French importer at the time, John Simone, who suggested the name ‘Mistral' to the manufacturer's directors. The Mistral thus became the first in a long succession of models named after winds from across the world. Available in coupé and spyder form, both bodies were designed by Pietro Frua and were unusually styled, with the radiator grille below the front bumper and, on the coupé, a wraparound rear screen which served as a tailgate, a novel and practical concept for its time. Resolutely modern, the Mistral abandoned the tubular chassis of the 3500 GT and opted for a solution which had been proven in motorsport on the ‘Birdcage' models, made up of square-section steel tubes. The Mistral was the last Maserati to be fitted with the famous twin-spark, double overhead cam straight-six engine, a development of the engine fitted to the Maserati 250F, the car with which Juan Manuel Fangio won the Formula 1 World Championship in 1957. This engine, developed by the engineer Giulio Alfieri, featured hemispherical combustion chambers and indirect fuel injection, a first for Italian sports cars of the day. Production came to an end in 1970, after 828 coupés and just 125 convertibles had been built. First registered in Paris on 10 October 1969, the Mistral we are offering for sale was the last to be sold new by the importer Thépenier. First owned by a French prefect, the car was then sold to its second owner, who was well known among enthusiasts for fine Italian GTs. He kept the car for many years but didn't drive it, keeping it laid up until it found redemption with one of his friends in 1996. A demanding collector, he stripped the car down completely and had its bodywork restored with the same care he lavished on the many Ferraris filling his garage. From its chassis to its upholstery, everything was tastefully restored, leaving nothing to chance. The engine, gearbox and rear axle were completely rebuilt and the fuel injection system overhauled by one of the leading Maserati specialists, Bill McGrath, in England. The suspension, brakes, wiring loom, interior, chromework, all the door and window seals... everything was restored with no expense spared. More than 20 years later, the standard of restoration was such that nothing has changed! Each stage in the work was documented and can be examined in a large photo album which retraces the car's history from its purchase through to its restoration. The car is now showing 88,854km (55,211 miles), and there can be no doubt that this is its original mileage. Beautiful to look at, and with a remarkable history, this Maserati Mistral 4000 presents an opportunity to acquire one of the finest classic six-cylinder Maseratis.

1963 Ferrari 250 GTE

Lot # 24 (Sale Order: 24 of 60)

Presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1960, the 250 GTE filled a gap in Ferrari's range. As Maserati had done with its 3500 GT, Ferrari realised the interest of producing a GT able to carry a family, which would not only attract new customers, but would help finance its involvement in competition. Styled by Sergio Pininfarina, rather than his father Battista - a sign of the son's growing influence in the business - its design kept the good looks of a GT and proved beautifully balanced. As was customary at the time, the Carrozzeria Scaglietti built the bodies and assembled the GTE. Powered by the latest version of the 2953cc Colombo V12, with the cylinder head carried over from the 250 Testa Rossa, its engine developed 240bhp and enabled the GTE to get from 0 to 62mph in just over seven seconds. The top speed was close to 150mph, and as a side note, the test driver Phil Hill, accompanied by two passengers, succeeded in reaching 100mph from a standing start and then stopping the car in 25 seconds flat! An extraordinary achievement for a touring car which was almost fully loaded. It certainly had the performance, but its interior was roomier, luxuriously finished and comfortable. Three successive series of the 250 GTE were built, with most of the changes concerning the front and rear lights, until production ended in 1963, after only 950 cars had been sold. The 250 GTE was a key model in Maranello's history, playing an important part in the Italian manufacturer's development. Its success was the starting point for a long line of 2+2 Ferraris. The Ferrari 250 GTE Series III which we are offering for sale has a unique patina. Chassis number 4501 was delivered new to Monchoisy in Switzerland in 1963, before being imported into France by the Franco-Britannic Garage. It was first registered in Paris on behalf of a director of a major French cosmetics company. He used it on business trips, and the car was replaced and sold five years later to its second owner, who kept it until 1974. He drove it in turn until 1981, not hesitating to change the steering wheel or remove the bumpers to take part in numerous rallies and club events. He finally sold it at an auction held on the Avenue de la Grande Armée in Paris. In 1983, its last-but-one owner purchased the car, keeping it until 2015! During these 32 years, the car was regularly maintained, as can be seen from the thick sheaf of invoices. It can be seen that the car was then gradually restored. After first being repainted in its original colour, its interior was then completely restored. In 2010, all the mechanical components were refurbished by the specialist Autotechnica, before the Arès workshop, a specialist in the restoration of classic cars with a well-established reputation, took over the work. The GTE's suspension and steering, brakes and rear axle, wiring loom and engine were all thoroughly overhauled. The end result is a car in perfect mechanical condition, which has retained as many original parts as possible. Resplendent in its original colour of ‘Blu Scuro' with ‘Rosso Pelle' leather trim, ‘4501' exudes an incomparable charm. For some years now, enthusiasts have taken an interest in the 250 GTE and many collectors have begun to appreciate the comfort, style and ease of use which made it such a success at the start of the 1960s. Many 250 GTEs have had a hard life, making it extremely rare to find such an original and impeccably maintained example.

1966 Ford Mustang Fastback Code K

Lot # 25 (Sale Order: 25 of 60)

It was on 17 April 1964 in New York that Ford unveiled the Mustang, a European- inspired compact car, offered at a low price and with unlimited scope for personalisation. The American manufacturer had just created the concept of the ‘Pony Car', which soon inspired other makes. The engines available, which ranged from a 2.8-litre in-line ‘six' to a 289-cubic inch (or 4.7-litre) V8, and the extensive list of options meant that each Mustang ordered was potentially unique. The Ford Mustang revolutionised the market, and by 1966 production had passed one million. Its young, sporty and fashionable image attracted tuners such as Carroll Shelby, who gave the Mustang its motorsport credentials. France did not escape the legend and made the Mustang a movie star in Claude Lelouch's famous film A Man and a Woman. The following year, Ford France engaged Johnny Hallyday to drive a Mustang in the Monte Carlo Rally, while in Belgium a certain Jacky Ickx began to get noticed at its wheel... The model which we are offering for sale is rare in that it represented only 3% of all Mustangs built. Between 1965 and 1967, only 13,214 ‘K-Code' versions were produced, out of the 1,760,678 Mustangs built! It came off the line in 1966 in one of the most sought-after Fastback specifications, as it is a genuine ‘K-Code' car, the model which would serve as the basis for the Shelby GT350. Hence it is equipped with the 289ci High Performance V8 developing 271bhp, a strengthened differential and stiffer suspension. It can be seen from the chassis number that it remains in its correct original specification, with Antique Bronze Metallic paintwork and optional ‘Pony' interior trim in matching Parchment Crinkle Vinyl, which is in excellent condition. The very attractive American Racing Torque Thrust wheels emphasise the car's sporting character. Imported from the US in 2011, the car has been fitted with a 5-speed Keisler T45RS manual transmission and electric power steering, making the car even more usable and pleasant to drive. A good deal of work has been done on the car over the past few years, including the overhaul of the (servo-assisted) brakes, front suspension, engine, steering and clutch. A body restoration and fresh paint job have put the finishing touches to the car. During our road test, this ‘K-Code' Mustang Fastback performed to our entire satisfaction, both to drive and for the standard of its presentation. Presented here in its most desirable version, it comes with a reprinted owner's manual and its original set of keys. There can be no doubt that it represents an American legend in its most exclusive form.
