This is an early 80 HP Case. Approx 9 of these engines were made. It is a transition engine between the 75 and the later 80. New main bearing poured and a new pinion o...moren the crank shaft, approx. 25 years ago. New tubes in the feed water heat exchanger, approx. 20 years ago. Marsh pump rebuilt and installed on engine, approx. 15 years ago. New flues and replaced several stay bolts, approx. 10 years ago. Has had very little use since any of this work was done. Has good working Marsh pump and injector to supply water. Non original bunkers, but serve the purpose well. One broken spoke in flywheel that was drilled and bolted at the time of the pinion replacement. There is a bulge between the fire box door and the draft door that will need attention. The bulge has been there since the engine was first brought to Culbertson and has not worsened, but the ultrasound tests showed it thinner there. Last time it was licensed it was at about 73 PSI. Before that it was ran at 135 PSI. Past estimates to fix the bulged area were between $5,000 and $10,000. We make no guarantees, so your UT should be your guide. Has been stored inside dry since last use about 8 years ago. It is a very nice running engine.
