Childs Pedal Car

Lot # 101 (Sale Order: 1 of 179)

Found lurking at the back of a Surrey garden, was this handsome looking 'Brooklands type' pedal racing car for children. The car is in desperate need of some proper love ...moreand attention.  Once restored this eccentric child's car could once again reign supreme on the track in your garden, it would be the envy of any ‘play date’ your child chooses to ask over for the day. The present owner is unsure of its origins or year of manufacture, but it could hark back to the days of the Bentley Boys or similar era – who knows! A fun project and a great surprise once completed for any child on their birthday or for Christmas.

Kawasaki GPZ 750 Turbo

Lot # 102 (Sale Order: 2 of 179)

The Kawasaki GPZ 750 Turbo was a sportbike manufactured from late 1983 to 1985, with two model years, the 1984 E1 and the 1985 E2. The differences were minor, a twin 'push/pull' throttle cable for the E2 and different brake caliper stickers. One magazine branded it the fastest bike they had ever tested and Kawasaki published some adverts claiming it to be 'The Fastest Production Motorcycle in the World'. Jay 'PeeWee' Gleason also recorded a 10.71 second quarter mile for Kawasaki to show that the turbo had genuine performance and was ahead of the other factory turbos. It is widely considered to be the best factory turbo produced by the Japanese manufacturers. This rare motorcycle comes with its ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano or in some circles Italian Classic Car Authority), to have your vehicle with a ASI plate on it is quite an honour in Italy. This particular example is presented in red over black and is in good condition. It also comes with Italian documentation and two keys.

Norton Trials Bike

Lot # 103 (Sale Order: 3 of 179)

Although various pre-war Nortons had been available to special order in trials specification, or 'Colonial' as they quaintly described them in the 1920s, it was not until 1948 that a purpose built machine was offered in the range. The new 500T used the engine as fitted to the model 18 and ES2, a 16H diamond frame with roadholder forks up front, these raked sharply to reduce the wheelbase. The engine had an alloy cylinder head and barrel along with lightened parts elsewhere, reducing the overall weight to 300 lbs. The earliest examples had a high level exhaust system, but by late 1949 it had been lowered with an upswept silencer. The 500T was competitive in its day and enjoyed some successes before it was discontinued in late 1954.AUTOMATICNorton has long enjoyed a unique place in motorcycle history. The Norton trials bike is an important part of that history. This classic trials bike is described by the vendor as being in tremendous order. The bike is offered at auction with a current V5C registration certificate and is offered at no reserve

Moto Guzzi V7 Sport

Lot # 105 (Sale Order: 5 of 179)

An engine design that originated in the early post war years, Moto Guzzi’s venerable 90 degree V-twin is still around today powering the company’s latest generation of superbikes. Guzzi’s transverse V-twin engine had been conceived to power a lightweight military three wheeler intended for the Italian army, and only later was it reassessed for possible motorcycle use. The work of Giulio Carcano, the man who had masterminded Guzzi’s spectacular V8-engined Grand Prix racer, the V7 was the biggest and fastest roadster ever to come out of the factory at Mandello del Lario. In creating the V7 Sport, it did away with the electrical generator mounted atop the crankcase, opting instead for an alternator carried on the crankshaft nose, thus enabling a much lower frame to be used. In marque expert Mick Walker’s words, the result was 'an amazing transformation of a formerly staid, overweight package.'This lovely classic from the Italian manufacturer is presented in good condition. The bike is from a private collection and is offered with its original Italian documentation and the coveted ASI certification (Automotoclub Storico Italiano). These iconic motorcycles are hugely desirable, mainly due to their relatively maintenance free mechanics and huge torque. Propelled via a driveshaft instead of a chain, these were always revered in the bike world.

BMW R69 S

Lot # 106 (Sale Order: 6 of 179)

In the early 1950s BMW concentrated on refining what were essentially pre war designs, but by 1955 was ready with a brace of new machines, the R50 and R69. Of 500cc and 600cc respectively, the newcomers inherited the updated flat twin engine introduced on the R51/3 a few years previously, but deployed this in all-new cycle parts. The most notable departures from preceding practice being the Earles type leading link front fork and swinging arm rear suspension enclosing the drive shaft in the right leg, these developments were first seen on the works racers.AUTOMATICA luxury tourer capable of over 100mph, the R69 cost as much as a small family car and was sold to discerning enthusiasts to whom expense mattered little when set against the excellence of BMW engineering. The R50/69 were produced until the arrival of the slightly more powerful 'S' versions for 1961. The larger of these, the R69S, produced 42bhp and was good for a top speed of around 110mph. 'Luxury roadster with superb high-speed performance yet docile traffic manners; magnificent steering, roadholding and brakes,' was Motor Cycle's verdict.AUTOMATICThis fabulous example of this popular and iconic Germany motorcycle has recently been completely restored, the restoration included its rare Heinrich fuel tank. The bike is presented with its original Dutch paperwork and since the restoration has covered a mere 70 km. This bike resided in a private collection before the present owner purchased it and presented it to auction.

Honda CX 650 Turbo

Lot # 108 (Sale Order: 8 of 179)

The Honda CX series motorcycles were developed and released in the late 1970's with production ending in most markets by the mid 1980's. The design included innovative features and technology that was uncommon or unused at the time such as liquid cooling, electric-only starting, low-maintenance shaft drive and modular wheels. The electronic ignition system was separate from the rest of the electrical system enabling the motorcycle to be push-started and ridden in case of a total electrical system failure. For the 1983 model year, the engine was increased to 673cc, together with an increase in power. This handsome motorcycle is rare, interesting and in good condition. It has come from a private collection in Italy and as such, comes with its original Italian documentation, two keys and service book. These bikes a very difficult to find and one in this condition should not be missed.

Kawasaki Z1R 1000

Lot # 109 (Sale Order: 9 of 179)

The first major revision of Kawasaki's trendsetting Z1/Z900 arrived for 1977 in the form of the Z1000, which, as its name suggests was a bored-out version of the original double overhead cam four. The power went up, marginally, to 83bhp while there was more torque delivered further down the rev range than before. Testing the new Z1000 in February 1977, Bike magazine had to contend with a wet track but nevertheless recorded a 12.76 second standing quarter mile time, despite an enforced half throttle take off and a staggering terminal velocity of 117mph with rider normally seated!AUTOMATICThis lovely three owners from new example is presented with the original Italian paperwork and two keys. The seat has been modified for a slighter shorter than average rider but can be changed back to its original status. These highly powered ‘sit up and beg’ machines are very sought after nowadays and this example is certainly one to consider.

Norton Trials Bike

Lot # 111 (Sale Order: 11 of 179)

The original Norton Company was formed by James Lansdowne Norton at 320, Bradford Street, Birmingham, in 1898. In 1902, Norton began building motorcycles with French and Swiss engines. In 1907, a Norton ridden by Rem Fowler won the twin-cylinder class in the first Isle of Man TT race, beginning a sporting tradition that went on until the 1960s. The first Norton engines were made in 1907, with production models available from 1908. These were the 3.5 bhp (490 cc) and the 'Big four' (633cc), this began a line of side-valve single-cylinder engines, which continued with few changes until the late 1950s.AUTOMATICThis good looking Norton 500T is a pleasant example of the type of bike Geoff Duke won the 1950 Victory Trial on. This Birmingham classic is supplied to auction with a V5C registration certificate and is offered at no reserve.

Yamaha XS750

Lot # 112 (Sale Order: 12 of 179)

The Yamaha XS750 and Yamaha XS850 was a line of in-line three cylinder motorcycles produced by the Yamaha Motor Corporation from 1976 to 1981 for the worldwide motorcycle market. The last model year of manufacturing was 1981. Released in Japan in 1976 as the GX750 sporting wire wheels (as opposed to cast alloy in all other models) the XS750 became the name for the export model. These motorcycles are usually referred to as ‘triples’ because they have three cylinders with the earlier first four model years production displacing 750cc.This time-warp example has been liberated from an eccentric collector who, after three years of use, parked the bike in his house and left it there until late 2017. Not surprisingly the condition of this bike is as it was in 1981 and it has covered less than 3,500 miles. Having never required an MoT test certificate and standing on its original factory tyres, this example has had some light recommissioning but having been inside the owner’s house we are informed there are no signs of brittle plastics or corrosion. A fabulous opportunity to own a motorcycle that has spent 37 years in hibernation.

Lot # 114 (Sale Order: 14 of 179)

The company grew quickly, developing many specialized models and becoming one of the largest agricultural manufacturers in Italy. Details of Signor. MG B GT

Lot # 116 (Sale Order: 16 of 179)

The MG B was first introduced in May 1962 as a direct replacement for the MG A. Performance was brisk with power supplied by a 1798cc, four-cylinder iron block engine set within a monocoque lightweight bodyshell with crumple zones incorporated. October 1965 saw the introduction of the GT and was based on the already popular roadster. Designed by Pinninfarina, the new GT sported a hatchback giving useful access to the rear luggage space and a rear bench seat that enabled the car to be called a 2+2. Although acceleration was slightly slower than the roadster, top speed was better by 5mph due to the increased aerodynamic efficiency.AUTOMATICWith only three owners from new, with the last purchasing the car in 2016 for his private collection, this green GT example, with black interior, is offered in splendid condition with the original registration number. It has covered just under 55,000 miles from new and has a good history file with plenty of bills to help any bidder understand the care of ownership. We are informed by the vendor she drives perfectly and is in super order having had a complete service including new brake discs and brake pads, intercooler, fan blades and of course a change of oil just before being purchased and put on display. This MG B GT is supplied with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2019. A great example of a fabulous British sports car.

MG CGT

Lot # 118 (Sale Order: 18 of 179)

The MG C was the first 'high performance' version of the MG B. From early in the design stages of the MG B there was an intention to create high performance variants, using a range of Vee engines that did not make it to production. The MG C was much more than a tuned MG B, in fact it was a completely re-engineered car, but retained many visual connections to the MG B. On the outside the MG C was often mistaken for an MG B as the only visual difference was the heavily bulged bonnet with a transverse chrome strip that accentuated the bulges, and the standard use of 15 inch wheels instead of the 14 inch used on the MG B. Inside there were very few differences between the B and C, other than the 140mph speedometer and tachometer with a yellow and red banding, set against lower RPM than the MG B.AUTOMATICThis left hand drive MG C was originally registered in California and repatriated to the UK in August 2017. According to the Heritage Certificate she was dispatched from the factory on 3rd July 1969 and was manufactured in Primrose Yellow with black interior and had the options of wire wheels, a heater and an overdrive unit on the gearbox. Still finished in Primrose Yellow we are advised by the vendor this MG C starts on the button and drives well. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 14th August 2018 with no advisories, MG C’s are becoming rarer and quite sought after.AUTOMATIC

Bentley Turbo R

Lot # 119 (Sale Order: 19 of 179)

The Bentley Turbo R was a high performance model produced from 1985 to 1997 with only 7,230 units manufactured in this production period. The 'R' stood for 'Roadholding' to set it apart from its predecessor, the Mulsanne, courtesy of substantially stiffer anti-roll bar settings, a Panhard rod system and increased damping. Wider tyres on alloy wheels were also a first for a Bentley on the Turbo R. The suspension changes transformed the soft ride of the Mulsanne into that of a real performer, with motoring press proclaiming this model to be more faithful to Bentley's racing pedigree. In 1995, a 'new' Turbo R was launched featuring, amongst other things, fuel injection which contributed towards a mighty 385bhp output. This long wheelbase Bentley, presented in silver with magnolia hide, royal blue piping and dark blue lambswool over rugs, was first registered on 29th April 1997. Boasting just three previous owners, our vendor purchased the car in 2015 after a nationwide search and an independent inspection with Silver Lady Services in Bournemouth. A low mileage example, in a very good colour combination, the car is supplied with a reassuring history file containing a comprehensively stamped service booklet together with countless old MoT test certificates and invoices; this car has clearly been maintained very well and the interior is described by the vendor as pristine. Having been serviced in 2017 by Rolls Royce specialists, the car was then put into storage over the winter months. This is a desirable example with a new MoT test certificate until April 2019. With prices rising for well kept Turbo R's, this would appear to be very good value indeed.

Mercedes-Benz 260E

Lot # 120 (Sale Order: 20 of 179)

The W124 was designed to endure many miles with awards actually given and worn by high mileage versions. Much of the 124's engineering and many of its features were advanced automotive technology at its introduction, incorporating innovations that have been adopted throughout the industry. It had one of the lowest coefficient of drag (Cd) of any vehicle of the time due to its aerodynamic body which included plastic moulding for the undercarriage to streamline airflow beneath the car, reducing fuel consumption and wind noise. It had a single windscreen wiper that had an eccentric mechanism at its base that extended the wiper's reach to the top corners of the windscreen. This fabulous example, in dark blue with blue cloth interior, was recently imported from Japan and is probably one of the best examples of this extremely popular model. It has only covered a mere 15,040 kilometres from new and as such, is in wonderful condition throughout. This car comes with air conditioning, electric windows, cruise control, automatic transmission and tool kit including its reflective triangle. It will come with a V5C registration document and a fresh MoT test certificate. These models were made to last and to have one with such low mileage surely must be unique!

Mercedes-Benz SL60 AMG Roadster

Lot # 121 (Sale Order: 21 of 179)

The Mercedes-Benz R129 was based on the shortened floorpan of the Mercedes-Benz W124 and featured many innovative details for the time; for instance electronically controlled damping (optional) and a hidden, automatically extending roll-over bar. The R107's rather dated rear diagonal swing axle gave way to a modern multi-link axle. The number of standard features was high - with electric action for the windows, mirrors, seats and convertible top. The 1994 cars were the first to have the new designation; i.e. the 500SL became the SL500. Also starting in 1994, Mercedes-Benz offered special SL models from time to time, such as the ‘Mille Miglia Edition’. AMG, the Mercedes-Benz owned tuning company, had already offered an SL version while still independent; the AMG 500SL six litre of 1991. After being taken over by Daimler-Benz, there were several AMG SL-models available. The SL60 AMG was the most numerous of these rare cars. Sold from 1993 to 1998, it used a six litre, V8 engine producing 381PS at 5500rpm. AMG claimed a 0 to 62mph speed of 5.6 seconds. Its top speed was limited to 155mph, but with the limiter removed, it was capable of approximately 185mph. AMG later unofficially conceded that 0 to 60mph was more like 5.0 seconds and the engine produced between 405-410bhp.AUTOMATICThis SL60 AMG was first registered on 1st August 1997 and presents in very good order particularly taking into account the mileage. Most importantly servicing is everything on these cars and this example has a very good service history; she also has a documented new engine fitted in 2001. We are advised by the vendor that R658 GGJ drives well with no known faults and the hood operates as it should. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate, this Mercedes-Benz SL60 is a perfect car for the summer months ahead.AUTOMATIC

The 997 is the replacement model for the 996. It has kept the 996's basic profile, with an even lower 0.28 drag coefficient, but draws on the 993 for detailing. MG B Roadster

Lot # 124 (Sale Order: 24 of 179)

The MG B was launched in May 1962 to replace the MG A and was introduced as a four-cylinder roadster with a Coupé added in 1965. It was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MG A and MG T-types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Manual windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MG B's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction with a 0–60mph time of just over 11 seconds; this was aided by the relatively light weight of the car. Handling was one of MG B's strong points. The three-bearing 1798cc, B-Series engine produced 95bhp at 5,400rpm with the engine upgraded in October 1964 to a five-bearing crankshaft in an effort to improve reliability.AUTOMATICThis early, ‘pull handle’, 1964 MG B Roadster with overdrive was restored some years ago but the vendor states that it is still remains in very good condition throughout after being in a private collection and in storage since 2007. Finished in one of the most attractive colour schemes that came from the MG factory of Iris Blue with dark blue leather interior, this MG B is supplied with a V5 registration document and a MoT test certificate which expires in April 2019. The MG B represents good value in today's market and enjoys excellent club support, specialist services and parts back up; a motor car just awaiting a new owner to enjoy it for years to come.

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster

Lot # 125 (Sale Order: 25 of 179)

Introduced early in 1971, this impressive two-seater sports car replaced the 280 SL. The body and chassis of the 3rd generation SL were considerably heavier and longer than its predecessor but still showed a slight resemblance to them. The front and rear axles were similar to those of the 200-250 models, with independent wheel suspension using double wishbones and anti-dive control at the front and a diagonal swing axle at the rear; four-speed automatic transmission was available as an option. The 3.5 litre, V8 engine underwent slight modifications to those being used on other models and the gear lever was placed on the floor in the centre of the car. The standard transmission provided a top speed of 130mph and a very respectable 0-62mph in 8.8 seconds. As with the previous generation SLs, the vehicle came as an open roadster with removable hard-top roof. The R107 body shape went on to become one of the longest running styles from Mercedes-Benz, remaining in production until 1989 with some 13 variants during that period.AUTOMATICThis delightful and very well presented 300 SL is offered in red coachwork with iconic Mercedes-Benz contrasting chequered trim. Supplied new in 1987 to the Isle of Man, this is clearly a well cared for example and has been stored in a warm garage since 2000 when it was last used and serviced showing 100,838 miles. Accompanying the car is a full original book pack which includes the original service booklet comprehensively completed until 1999 with 18 entries from main dealers and specialists alike. Although supplied to the Isle of Man this car appears to have been brought straight to London in 1987 and then in 1991 it was exported to Northern Ireland. Supplied with every MoT test certificate since its time in Ireland, this car was recently returned to the UK but will require a UK V5 certificate if to remain on British roads. A current MoT test certificate is present until August 2018. A lovely example of a very desirable R107 Mercedes-Benz SL and sure to be very popular with bidders.
