The Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph was first unveiled on 3rd March, 1998 at the Geneva Motor Show. It replaced the Silver Spur which ended production in 1997. All Seraphs were hand-built at the Rolls-Royce factory in Crewe, England, which stopped making Rolls-Royce models in 2002 but continued with Bentley. The car had a base price of £155,175 in the UK and was powered by a 5.4 litre aluminium alloy BMW V12 engine, making it the first twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce since the 1939 Phantom III. Standard electronics included digital engine management, adaptive ride control and anti-lock brakes. Aside from the radiator grille, badges and wheels, the Rolls-Royce was externally identical to the contemporary Bentley Arnage, sharing both its platform and bodyshell. Inside, the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph and the Bentley Arnage were similar but quite distinct from one another. In the Seraph, the gear selector was column-mounted and the gauges followed a traditional Rolls-Royce layout (for example, there was no tachometer). In both cars, the seats and dashboard were upholstered in Connolly leather, with dashboard trim and folding picnic trays for rear passengers and glossy burr walnut veneer.AUTOMATICSupplied by Leodis Court in Leeds (now JCT 600) and registered on 1st October 1998, this Rolls-Royce is in splendid condition. The paintwork is in two-tone Silver Pearl and Black Sapphire whilst the interior is in the colour combination of Atlantic Blue and Stratos; this is a particularly handsome car. The interior also benefits from having rear picnic tables and a sunroof. A 48,000 mile service was carried out in June 2017 by marque specialist Daniel Moore & Co in Whittlesey at 59,121 miles and, together with some mechanical work, the invoice totalled £2,585.09. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate; Rolls-Royce Silver Seraphs are rare and are fast becoming recognised as highly desirable and collectable, they are a superb car to travel in.AUTOMATIC
Citroën DS19 Décapotable
Year: 1962Mileage: 80,241Registration: tbcTransmission Type/Speeds: ManualEstimate - Range: 110000 - 145000Configuration: LHD
The Citroën DS is a four-door, front-engine, front-wheel-drive mid-size car manufactured from 1955 to 1975 in saloon, estate and convertible body configurations. Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni and the French aeronautical engineer André Lefèbvre styled and engineered the car. Paul Magès developed the hydro-pneumatic self-levelling suspension. Noted for its aerodynamic, futuristic body design and innovative technology, the DS set new standards in ride quality, handling and braking. Citroën sold 1,455,746 cars, including 1,330,755 built at the manufacturer's original mass-production plant in Paris. The DS came third in the 1999 Car of the Century poll recognising the world's most influential auto designs and was named the most beautiful car of all time by Classic & Sports Car magazine. Henri Chapron was a prominent French automobile coachbuilder and turned his hand to the successful Citroën DS with its revolutionary aerodynamic design and radical hydraulic suspension. At first Chapron purchased these vehicles and customised them as one-off conversions. Many of these became unique convertible variants of the DS known as the ‘Décapotable’. All told, Chapron created 389 hand-built DS convertibles.AUTOMATICThis delightfully handsome Citroën DS19 has been restored and our inspection confirmed this to be a ‘Décapotable’ of rare quality. The engine runs well and suspension, brakes and steering all operated as they should. Finished in metallic Bordeaux Red with black leather trim, this iconic Citroën epitomises everything about the 1960’s, style and grace mixed in with a hint of quirkiness. Currently still registered on French plates, she come with a NOVA certificate to enable registration in the UK should the new owner choose to do so. Whether driving to the shops or the French Riviera, this DS19 is a genuine Chapron example and is a sure to be a great conversation piece; truly an amazing piece of French motoring history.AUTOMATIC
