Remington Model of 1917 .30-06 Hunting Rifle 1918

Lot # 29 (Sale Order: 30 of 525)

Offered for sale is a Remington Model of 1917 .30-06 Hunting Rifle. This rifle features a 26" barrel, 6 shot magazine, pistol grip walnut stock, scope mounts, and two stage trigger. After the armistice most M1917 rifles were placed in storage, although Chemical Mortar units continued to be issued them. During the 1920s and 1930s many M1917 rifles were released for civilian use through the NRA, or were sold as surplus. Many were "sporterized", sometimes including rechambering to more powerful magnum hunting cartridges, such as .300 H&H Magnum and .300 Winchester Magnum. It was so popular as a sporting weapon that Remington manufactured about 30,000 new rifles as the Model 30 from 1921 to 1940. The Danish Slædepatruljen Sirius still use the M1917 as their service weapon, due to the high reliability of these bolt-action rifles in the harsh conditions of high Arctic Greenland. This rifle is in good condition, shows some signs of use. It shows a bright bore with strong rifling. The rear iron sight has been shave to allow a scope mount to be installed, the front sight blade is also removed, and the action looks to have been tuned. This rifle was manufactured in January of 1918. Curio & Relic firearm. FFL transfer or NICS background check required. The serial number is 108701

Remington Model 95 3rd Model .41 RF Derringer

Lot # 38 (Sale Order: 40 of 525)

You are bidding on a Remington Model 95 3rd Model .41 Rimfire Derringer. This derringer features a 3" double barrel, tip up design, deep blue'd finish, spur trigger, and hard rubber grips. The Remington Model 95 is a double-barrel pocket pistol commonly recognized as a derringer. The design was little changed during a production run of nearly 70 years through several financial reorganizations of the manufacturer causing repeating serial number sequences. Guns were offered with engraving or plain blued or nickel-plated finish with grips of metal, walnut, rosewood, hard rubber, ivory or pearl. The Remington Over-Under Double Derringer is doubtless one of the most widely recognized handgun designs. For many Americans raised on TV and Hollywood Westerns, it conjures images of smoke-filled saloons and paddle-wheel steamboats. This derringer is in good condition with a considerable amount of deep bluing finish and some signs of use. The mechanics are solid with slight play. This is a Curio & Relic firearm. FFL transfer or NICs background check required. The serial number is 81.

Colt 1860 Civilian Post-Civil War 44 Revolver RARE

Lot # 45a (Sale Order: 48 of 525)

Offered for sale is a RARE Post Civil War Civilian Colt 1860 Army Percussion .44 Caliber Revolver. The pistol features a 8" barrel, brass trigger guard, and deluxe handles. This variation is much more scarce than the usual military marked and cut for shoulder stock model. Easily identifiable by the lack of cut outs for shoulder stock, these beautiful Colts were very popular on the Western Frontier. Preferred by outlaws and lawmen alike as well as cowboys, buffalo hunters and frontiersmen well into the cartridge era as running out of cartridges was not a laughing matter when none could be procured, while powder and lead could always be found. Even Wild Bill Hickok carried a pair of Colt percussion revolvers until his death in 1876. This is an excellent example with all matching numbers including the barrel wedge, exc. markings including the Colt address on the barrel top, the Colt’s patent stamping on the frame and the correct tiny “44 CAL” stamp on the left side of the brass trigger guard, special factory fancy grained one piece walnut grips are excellent, nice screws, tight action and a particularly fine engraved cylinder scene, front sight has not been altered, excellent metal surfaces showing no signs of cleaning or polishing. Even the most advanced Colt collections lack an example of a rare Civilian Colt 1860 Frontier Army revolver like this. Very hard to obtain this historically significant variant especially in such exceptionally fine condition. This revolver was manufactured in 1868. Antique firearm. NO FFL transfer or NICS background check required. Serial number is 175483.
