Colt Pocket Positive Double Action Revolver

Lot # 1001 (Sale Order: 2 of 837)

serial #95082, 32 Police, 3 1/2" barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this nice little First Issue Pocket Model retain about 99% original blue, showing a tiny bit of loss at the crane and frame beneath the ejector rod and some very light fading at the butt; there are two tiny rust spots at left of frame above the grip. The bright polished sides of the hammer remain brilliant and there is bright blue on the trigger. The checkered hard rubber Colt monogram grips rate excellent to nearly as-new, they are scratch-numbered to the gun on their interior. Inside is the colt's "special instructions" pamphlet as well as what is likely the original hangtag mentioning cartridges for the arm and there is a small piece of manila paper which reads "Police Station/14th District/Phone Germantown 6341" (Philadelphia); what may be the original boar bristle brush is included as well. The pistol includes a factory wood grain box with Styrofoam insert but the label has fallen off and is not provided. The box is configured for a Government model and the paperwork is relative to it. The box rates about very good with a light tears and handling wear. Also included is a single factory magazine with electroless nickel finish, manual and paperwork. This gun has not seen much use and remains in excellent condition. A fine addition for any collection. (88676-7) {MODERN}

Colt New Service Double Action Revolver

Lot # 1023 (Sale Order: 24 of 837)

serial #69678, 455 Eley (neatly converted to 45 Colt), 5 1/2" barrel with an otherwise bright excellent bore which shows one spot of pitting about 1" from the muzzle at 2 o'clock. The metal surfaces on this early flat latch, high polished revolver retain about 92-95% original blue, the loss is due to some muzzle wear, high edge wear and wear chiefly on the cylinder with overall very light and tiny dings or handling marks. The bright polished sides of the hammer remain brilliant and the trigger shows some strong pale fire temper blue, with a small bit of surface oxidation as well. The checkered hard rubber Colt logo grips rate very good plus with only minor wear, they are scratch-numbered to the gun on their interior. The gun is British proofed and clearly was very neatly converted to 45 Colt somewhere along the way with the right side of the barrel so-marked. The gun times and locks up perfectly just as when it left Colt in 1914. (38681-3) {C&R}

Colt Police Positive Special Double Action Revolver

Lot # 1024 (Sale Order: 25 of 837)

serial #371964, 32-20 WCF, 4" barrel with a bright excellent, likely unfired, bore. The metal surfaces on this scarce first issue Police Positive retain about 98-99% original blue, the loss is due to extremely light muzzle wear, a tiny bit of sharp edge wear on some areas of the frame and a few spots of minor fading on the cylinder, likely where it lay on its side. The bright-polished sides of the hammer are mostly brilliant with some remnants of some very light oxidation staining, the right side showing some minor scratches at the spur. The checkered walnut grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions rate excellent to as-new and fit precisely and are un-numbered. The arm very much appears unfired, there is no dragline at the firing pin bushing and no flash residue on the face of the cylinder, the forcing cone and breech of barrel still in-the-white. Really a very lovely short-barrel example that needs an original box to be right at home again. An excellent Police Positive Special overall in a scarce chambering. (38659-4) {C&R}
