PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1055209. Very scarce sought after model mfg. only 1943; S# 1,041,405 - 1,096,404. Plum toned military finished mag. release w/ blued screw, blued ...morehammer pivot pin & blued stamped trigger appear normal characteristics per internet research. 2 Items variable in mfg.; bbl. & grips. Type 10 Keyes Fibre checkered brown plastic grips w/ sm. rings around screws. Blued High Standard bbl. w/ "HS" on right leg & "P" on left. Other correct notables are "RCD" inspector marks plus no firing proofs or crossed cannons. Proper Du-Lite sand blast finish. MAGS: 1 near excellent correct Scovill ("S" on top of base lip) 7 rd. mag. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: vintage opaque plastic pouch intended to help keep pistol dry in wet areas. Top rolls up w/ retaining strap having olive drab snap. Appears period correct & in remarkable pliable condition. CONDITION: worn spring plug w/ rectangular detent rather than proper rnd. detent; all other aspects of pistol are correct. Exceptional condition w/ some minor light marks & scratches mostly confined to slide along w/ very slight high point wear. Very slight marks at bottom front of left grip. Screw slots damaged from improper screwdriver use. Similar light marks on frame to lesser degree including scratch from improper slide stop installation. Bbl. has new unfired appearance w/ some very faint rub marks on top behind locking lugs. Overall an exceptional example seldom encountered in this condition. (18-923/NW). CURIO. $5,000-7,000.

Correct features include: Type C long beavertail rounded spur hammer, checkered slide stop w/ undercut, checkered ...moreundercut safety, slide w/ tighter radius on side cuts at front, short tang grip safety, Type 1 flat main spring housing & all other appropriate features except Type 11 bbl. used from S# 113497 to end. Proper rounded topped firing pin stop. Sm. S Springfield mark visible on hammer, slide stop & mag. catch (no disassembly for further marks). Double diamond walnut grips & appropriate Springfield proofs throughout. MAGS: fair appearing 7 rd. mag. correct for 1914 to March 1916. Cleaned lightly pitted finish. Top of spine has copper area appearing to be field repair. Faint trace of 2 tone. CONDITION: good overall appearance w/ normal high point wear & light scratch from improper slide stop use plus scratches on frame above trigger. Very good grips w/ only slight hand wear to diamond tops. Sm. slit in rear of spring plug. Matching finish to bbl. exterior; fair bore w/ even light to moderate pitting. (18-1185/NW). Matching "H" provisional marks on frame, slide & bbl. Original proper brushed blue finish & Army marking. MAGS: 2 good to very good unmarked 2 tone 7 rd. mags. w/ occasional peppery oxidation. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: near excellent Sedgley marked bbl. numbered "1289" w/ offset bore for 22 LR utilizing pistol's CF firing pin. Includes bbl. link & Sedgley 2-11-37 unpriced invoice. CONDITION: good plus general appearance w/ thinning in grip area & scattered peppery oxidation mostly confined to front portion of slide & dust cover plus cocking grooves. Faint scratch on frame from slide stop installation. Very sm. minimal marks on grips w/ slight crossed swords type symbol carved above lower left grip screw. Variations: blued firing pin retainer, spr...moreing guide & extractor plus type 3 checkered arched mainspring housing rather than type 2. All other features correct for model including type 7 Coltwood lg. ring grips. Correct all blued Colt bbl. additionally marked w/ sm. sized "N" & lg. sized "G" in front of legs. MAGS: 1 very good unmarked, blued mill finished 7 rd. mag. w/ pinned base. CONDITION: very minimal wear on bbl. at port area & by bushing. Light finish loss on spring guide. Light operation wear on trigger & left front side of slide (caused by dust cover). Occasional very faint rub marks on slide & frame. Very good to near excellent overall appearance w/ crossed cannons proof not appearing fresh. "W" proof mark on left side of trigger guard not appearing applied after finish yet "80" assembler # on right appears fresh. Very minimal signs of use on bbl. legs & breech face. All correct features & markings including hardened Drake slide, US NM bbl. & bushing. Aluminum trigger w/ over travel. Long tang grip safety & grooved arched mainspring housing w/ lanyard loop. Checkered front strap. Original "FJA", "P" & Ithaca trigger guard marks faintly visible. No crossed cannons visible. Right side of frame w/ faint original markings due to reparkerizing. Later markings include "SA" above trigger guard, "NM/6" on trigger guard, behind finger cutout on right stamped "T" at top & 2 "F"'s or combination of "E" & "T" stamped above mag. release. Fully checkered dark walnut grips. Checkered thumb safety grooved slide stop. Hand fitted w/ match trigger pull. No visible marks by disconnector. Blued components are bbl., bushing, rear sight & hammer. Generally produced 1954-1967 for Army Marksmanship Unit competition. MAGS: 1 very good Ridson 7 rd. mag. w/ pinned base. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original shipping box w/ 7/64 date & drawing number. Original packaging tape plus extra clear tape opposite opened end. CONDITION: good to generally very good overall appearance w/ slight thinning at high points plus occasional scratches. Light wear on bbl. exterior from functioning. "EEC" inspector initials w/ eagle "23" proof. Left side of trigger guard has "E", right side "42"; "E" also on rear of slide. Proper bbl. w/ only "P" on top near hood, checkered Type A slide lock w/ milled cut. MAGS: 1 good unmarked 2 tone mag. w/ pinned base, no lanyard loop & occasional light pitting. CONDITION: good appearing frame w/ milled finish plus thinning in grip area along w/ light scratches on front strap. Very faint S#; other markings sharp & clear. Fair to good slide w/ appearance of original finish having mottled appearance mixed w/ occasional light pitting, scratches plus function & high point wear. Fair bbl. appearing to have replacement link & pin. Noticeable exterior wear plus fair to good bore noticeably worn w/ even frosting. Extra wear marks on ramps of legs having concave appearance caused by shaft of slide stop. 2 Letters lightly carved into top of bottom diamond on left grip. CONDITION: especially nice near excellent dbl. diamond grips. Colt rough finished frame w/ gray patina on backstrap area running onto sides of frame plus notable thinning on front. Light operation wear on trigger & bbl. Characteristics of slide match, but appearance is of light gray brown patina appearing possible replacement w/ impact mark on face below plug. Mostly correct features including Type 10 Keyes Fibre checkered brown plastic grips w/ reinforcement rings....more Grooved arched mainspring housing; late Type 5 (8 ribs) instead of coarsely checkered Type 3. Unusual replacement bbl. marked "S&W" on right leg along w/ "M" & "P" on left leg. Top of bbl. at ejection port opening marked "45 AUTO/7791193". Proper circled inspector initials, sm. pronounced "P" by mag. release but no proof on top of slide. MAGS: 1 good plus appearing Scoville 7 rd. mag. refinished over light pitting. CONDITION: very good overall appearance as refinished over occasional light pitting w/ occasional slightly heavier spots such as in cocking grooves on left side. Blue/black appearance w/ tone line approximately midway between front sight & front of ejection port; also around slide stop notch. Very good to excellent grips w/ faint hand wear near butt. Left side of dust cover electro numbered "3740" & slightly buffed. Correct Ithaca slide features & sights. Colt Type 6 bbl. as used by Remington Rand & Ithaca through mid 1943. MAGS: 1 good MS Little 7 rd. mag. CONDITION: overall good to very good appearance except for electro engraving. Very good to excellent bbl. finish plus near excellent bore & grips. S." & crossed cannons proofed. Top of bbl. marked "PROPERTY OF U.S.A.". Serrated Patridge style front sight on 4 1/2" medium weight bbl. plus square notch windage adj. rear. Thumb safety on left side of frame in 1911 style plus exposed hammer. Right side of frame has hold open latch & takedown lever. MAGS: 2 good to very good unmarked 2 tone 10 rd. mags. CONDITION: some slight thinning at high points such as corners of slide, edges of muzzle & rear sight. Overall appearance very good to excellent w/ near excellent bore. Frame has "C611540" appli...moreed in normal position along w/ ATF assigned number under dust cover. Inspector marks & proof marks including those on trigger guard match period characteristics. Later coarse checkered Type 3 mainspring housing instead of Type 2. Keyes Fibre Type 10 checkered plastic grips w/ screw rings instead of Type 7 Coltwood. Type 14 field replacement bbl. marked "SP" on left leg w/ heat treatment "B1" above. Gold plated items are port section of bbl., bbl. bushing, trigger, mag. latch, slide stop, hammer plus thumb & grip safeties; balanced chrome. MAGS: 1 chrome plated over pitting w/ bright base 7 rd. General Shaver. CONDITION: poor bore; dark & pitted. Good plus overall appearance as slightly over polished w/ light wear & fading on gold items. Very good chrome. (14-51/NW). MODERN. $450-600.
