Connecticut Valley Arms Replica 1851 Navy Revolver

Lot # 107 (Sale Order: 26 of 167)      

This is a Connecticut Valley Arms Replica 1851 Revolver, it is made to replicate the 1851 Colt Revolver. The cylinder has a a engraved ship scene with the words "engaged ...more16 May, 1843." The frame is made of brass and has CVA in a circle stamped on the side along with the underside containing the serial #84832. The barrel has Conneticut Valley Arms stamped on the topside with A.S.M.- Black Powder Only Made in Italy. The blackpowder pistol is in OK condition, has some slight rust and patina on the barrel. Civil War Bullet Mold & Musket Worms

The bullet mold is believed to be a .31 caliber Colt't bullet mold that was for the 1849 pocket revolver. The mold has two different style molds being a round or conical ...moreball. The musket worms are for the .69 caliber smoothbore musket rifle that were used to exract a bullet. They were screwed onto the end of the ramrod and without these the bullet could become lodged and the rifle would be useless.

The sword measures 27 1/2" overall length, with the handle being 9 1/2" by itself.The handle is a...more triple band design to keep the blade secured. The scabbard is 23 1/4" long that features a 6 band design to keep the scabbard very sturdy over time. The condition of this item is good considering it's age and there are no visible cracks or repair marks.

19th Century Tanto w/ Sheath

This tanto and sheath have detailed carvings of Japanese nobles. The tanto messures 12 1/2" long with the handle being 4 7/8" long itself. The sheath has detailed carving...mores on both sides. The sheath looks to have been cracked in two separate spots but was repaired at sometime. The sheath measures approx 10 3/4" long. This crewman received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained when USS Waller was crippled by a Ja...morepanese mine on the Yangtze River in Shanghai, China in October 1945. Includes navy blue jumper & neckerchief. The jumper had finished cuffs with white piping as well as a back flap that had the same white piping along its border with 2 stars at either point. There is also a Quartermaster 2nd Class (QM2c) patch on the right sleeve. These features set it apart from the blue undress jumper.
