This well shaped Montell was recovered in Kerr County, Texas. It was made from Edwards Plateau Chert during the latter portion of the Archaic Period 3,000 to 4,500 years ago. It is in excellent condition and measures 2 in long and 1 2/16 in wide. This Point grades a solid 8 grade.

Big Sandy

This is a nicely formed Big Sandy that was found in Clark County, Kentucky several years ago. It was made from Boyles Chert during the Archaic Period. This one would grade an 8 to 8.5 and measures 2 2/16 in long and 1 in wide. This small to medium size side notch Point was made and used for almost 7,000 years of the Archaic times in the Southeastern United States.
Pair OF Kays Points

Both of these Kays points are about the same size and received a Grade 8. The gray one was recovered in Tulsa County, Oklahoma and the black one was found in Kentucky and was made from Fort Payne Chert. It measures 1 13/16 in long and is 1 4/16 in wide. The gray one was made from Boone Chert and is 1 15/16 in long and is 1 3/16 in wide. These types of Points were made and used from the Mid-Archaic to the early Woodland Periods 2,000 to 5,000 years ago.
Motley Point

This pretty Motley Point was recovered from Meigs County, Tennessee. It would grade a 7.5 to an 8. It was made from a high-quality Dover Chert during the Late Archaic to early Woodland Periods 2500 to 4500 years ago. The Point measures 2 10/16 in long and is 1 1/16 in wide. This was another fairly common point from the Southeastern U.S.
Kramer Point

This Kramer Point was recovered from Miller County, Missouri. It was made and used 2500 to 3000 years ago during the Woodland Period. It was made from Burlington Chert and measures 3 2/16 in long and is 1 2/16 in wide. Prouix has graded it a 7 but many Authenticators might have given it a 8.
Decatur Point

This tan Chert Decatur was recovered from Logan County, Illinois. Caddo graded it a solid 8. It is 1 7/8 in long and is 1 4/16 in wide. These Points are usually 2,000 to 8,000 years old from the Archaic Period.
Ledbetter

Ledbetters were used as Knives from the Mid to Late Archaic times; 6,000 to 3,500 years ago by Indians from Southeastern U.S. This one was found in the 1960s in Logan County, Kentucky. Its made of Hornstone and measures 2 14/16 in long and is 1 in wide.
Dickson Spearpoint

This was a very large Dickson used as a Spearpoint. The tip was fractured when discovered and has been expertly restored. Baker graded it a solid 8 after the repair. The Spearpoint was discovered in Union County, Ohio. It measures 4 8/16 in long and the width is 2 4/16 in. The Dickson was neatly made using Mercer Chert and is estimated to be 1,500 to 2,500 years old.
Northern Side Notch Point

This is the only other Point in the Auction that had some restoration done. When found about 2/16 in of the tip was missing and the past owner had it professionally restored. The Black Obsidian Side Notch was recovered in Oregon. It?s an Ex-Jim Bennett Collection and from there it went to the D.W. Brooks Collection. Now its here ready for the next lucky owner. I say lucky because it is a beautiful well-made Point. It measures 3 in long and is 1 4/16 in wide. Baker graded it a very conservative 8. The winning bidder will be well pleased with this Gem of an Artifact from the Northwest. The Point was made and used in the early Archaic Period. Note: Has two COAs.
Ashtabula Point

The Ashtabula is a really funny shaped Point that is just one of many in the world of Artifacts. This one was recovered from Caroll County, Ohio several years ago. It was made from Flintridge Flint during the Archaic Period and measures 3 5/16 in long and 1 6/16 in wide. Jeff Baker graded this one an 8 and this type can be very hard for some Collectors to find.
Frio Point

The Frio is a mid Archaic to early Woodland Point. They have been found all over Texas and parts of Oklahoma. This one was recovered from Bell County, Texas and measures 1 13/16 in long and is 1 6/16 in wide. It was knapped from Edwards Plateau Chert and Baker has graded it a solid 8.
Marshall Point

Mulberry Creek Point

Found in Logan County, Kentucky this medium size point displays good color. It was made from Fort Payne Chert and measures 3 1/16 in long and 1 3/16 in wide. This type was in use from the mid- Archaic to Woodland Periods.
Newnan Point

This is a beautiful golden colored Newnan that was made from Quartzite. It was found in Alachua County, Florida. It measures 2 7/16 in long and is 1 8/16 in inches wide. It grades an 8.5 and the Newnan is a Mid-Archaic Period type that is 3,000 to 7,000 years old. They are very popular to collectors and this one is unusual that it was made from Quartzite.
Etley Knife

The Etley Spear points and Knifes were made and used towards the end of the Archaic Period 2,500 to 4,000 years ago. Obviously, this long Blade was attached to some kind of handle and used as a Knife. The sharpening signs on one side reveals this. This Knife was recovered from St. Louis County, Missouri. The maker used a high- quality Burlington Chert and did a fine job. The Blade measures 5 2/16 in long and is 1 4/16 in inches wide. It grades a strong 8.5 and has a fantastic patina and appearance.
Marion Point

This Archaic Marion Point has quite unusual markings and is thin and translucent. It was made from Coral of the highly desired type. It was recovered from Hillsborough County, Florida a few years back and would make a really super addition to anyone?s collection. It measures 2 in long and 11/2 in wide and was graded an 8.5. It has the classic shape and is in excellent condition.
Kirk Corner Notch Point

Castroville Point

This Castroville Point found in Coryell County, Texas is very unusual and somewhat rare in that its made from beautiful black shinny Obsidian like Points from the Northwest portion of the country. Most of Texas Points are made from Edwards Plateau Chert. This is 2 1/16 in long and 1 9/16 in wide. Its in excellent condition and grades an 8.5.

In this case we have a dark reddish-brown Chert 1 1/2 in Folsom Point from El Paso County. Also, a nice Midland Point from Wise County. On the far right there is an Angostura from Comanche County. Also, a small drill above it. Bottom right is Black Flint Paleo Palm Knife from Calhoun County and far left is an Early Stemmed Lanceolate from Parker County. The 4 5/8 in Snap Base Knife was recovered from Bexar County as well as the Shaft Straightener. The Folsom Point is fluted all the way to the tip on one side and about 30 to 35% on the other side. All eight Artifacts are in excellent condition.
