Montell Point

This well shaped Montell was recovered in Kerr County, Texas. It was made from Edwards Plateau Chert during the latter portion of the Archaic Period 3,000 to 4,500 years ago. It is in excellent condition and measures 2 in long and 1 2/16 in wide. This Point grades a solid 8 grade.

Dovetail Point

This nice Dovetail is 1 9/16 inches long. This well shaped point was recovered from Webster County, Kentucky back in the late 1950s. It appears to have been formed from Carter Cave Chert during the early Archaic Period. This point is very thin and is an excellent example of the type.
Brewerton Corner Notched Point

This shiny beauty was recovered from Northwest Kentucky. It was made from Coshocton Flint during the mid-Archaic Period and this one has a very smooth and slick patina. The edges are beveled nicely and this Point is 1 12/16 inches long and 1 4/16 inches wide.
Motley Point

This pretty Motley Point was recovered from Meigs County, Tennessee. It would grade a 7.5 to an 8. It was made from a high-quality Dover Chert during the Late Archaic to early Woodland Periods 2500 to 4500 years ago. The Point measures 2 10/16 in long and is 1 1/16 in wide. This was another fairly common point from the Southeastern U.S.

Decatur Point

This tan Chert Decatur was recovered from Logan County, Illinois. Caddo graded it a solid 8. It is 1 7/8 in long and is 1 4/16 in wide. These Points are usually 2,000 to 8,000 years old from the Archaic Period.
Polished Ammonite

This is a highly polished Ammonite from the cretaceous period. Scientist say these Prehistoric Shellfish are 65 to 68 million years old. The creature living in this Shell we believe was much like a squid. This Ammonite measures 2 inches x 1 ... inches.
Dickson Spearpoint

This was a very large Dickson used as a Spearpoint. The tip was fractured when discovered and has been expertly restored. Baker graded it a solid 8 after the repair. The Spearpoint was discovered in Union County, Ohio. It measures 4 8/16 in long and the width is 2 4/16 in. The Dickson was neatly made using Mercer Chert and is estimated to be 1,500 to 2,500 years old.
Northern Side Notch Point

This is the only other Point in the Auction that had some restoration done. When found about 2/16 in of the tip was missing and the past owner had it professionally restored. The Black Obsidian Side Notch was recovered in Oregon. It?s an Ex-Jim Bennett Collection and from there it went to the D.W. Brooks Collection. Now its here ready for the next lucky owner. I say lucky because it is a beautiful well-made Point. It measures 3 in long and is 1 4/16 in wide. Baker graded it a very conservative 8. The winning bidder will be well pleased with this Gem of an Artifact from the Northwest. The Point was made and used in the early Archaic Period. Note: Has two COAs.
Carcharocles Megalodon Polished Tooth

The Megalodon was a Giant Prehistoric Shark from the Miocene Epoch. Scientist from the British Museum have said that for every inch of tooth there was 10 feet of Shark so this tooth measuring 3 3/4 inches long would have been from a 37 1/2 foot Megalodon.
Coral Newnan Point Grade 10

This perfect G-10 Newnan was recovered from Florida. It was made from a beautiful white Coral during the Mid-Archaic Period, about 6500 years ago. It measures 3 1/16 inches long and 1 3/16 inches wide. This is a no brainer Point for a center piece investors collection.
Frio Point

The Frio is a mid Archaic to early Woodland Point. They have been found all over Texas and parts of Oklahoma. This one was recovered from Bell County, Texas and measures 1 13/16 in long and is 1 6/16 in wide. It was knapped from Edwards Plateau Chert and Baker has graded it a solid 8.
Neuberger Point

This pretty Neuberger was recovered from Ross County, Ohio. It was made from Mercer Chert in the early Archaic Period. It grades 8.5 and measures 3 in long and 1 9/16 in wide. This is another type of point that can be hard for a collector to find a good representative of.
Ohio Dovetail Point

This beautiful Dovetail was recovered from Licking County, Ohio. It measures 2 1/4 inches long. This Corner Notched type was made during the early portion of the Archaic Period. The Point has a very smooth patina with great flaking patterns.
Stilwell Point

The Stilwell is a medium size corner notched point usually with serrated edges. This one is about an 8.5 to 9 grade made from Boyles Chert during the Early Archaic Period. This Stilwell measures 2 4/16 inches long and is 1 3/16 inches wide.
Newnan Point

This is a beautiful golden colored Newnan that was made from Quartzite. It was found in Alachua County, Florida. It measures 2 7/16 in long and is 1 8/16 in inches wide. It grades an 8.5 and the Newnan is a Mid-Archaic Period type that is 3,000 to 7,000 years old. They are very popular to collectors and this one is unusual that it was made from Quartzite.

This beautiful Crystal is a stunning greenish blue with violet inclusions. The piece is fully translucent and displays best with a light under or next to it. It measures 3 9/16 inches long and some say it has healing effects but we just like it because of its beauty.

These are excellent quality Bird Points mostly recovered along the Columbia River in Oregon. These were made from Chalcedony, Jasper, Agate, and other fine Flints. This type was used for hunting Birds and small Game. These were all found in the 1950s.
Colorado Chalcedony Corner Notch

This Point was recovered in Northeastern Colorado. Its shaped much like the Pelican Lake type but many people where this was found just call it a Corner Notch so we will leave it at that. Its made from beautiful Chalcedony and its completely translucent. Its measures 1 2/16 inches long and would grade about a 9.5.
Castroville Point

This Castroville Point found in Coryell County, Texas is very unusual and somewhat rare in that its made from beautiful black shinny Obsidian like Points from the Northwest portion of the country. Most of Texas Points are made from Edwards Plateau Chert. This is 2 1/16 in long and 1 9/16 in wide. Its in excellent condition and grades an 8.5.
