Charles William Lortz March 8, 1941 - August 2, 2018.. Video of the Man Behind the Collection

Lot # 3 (Sale Order: 1 of 250)

Charles "Charley" Lortz passed from this world into Heaven on August 2, 2018, after a brave fight with cancer. Charley was the first of three children born to Chuck and Helen Lortz. He spent nearly his entire life in and around Bakersfield, California. Many of his days were spent working at the family business, Lortz and Son Manufacturing, eventually taking over the business upon his father's retirement. Charley rarely sat idle and stayed busy in his own retirement. He cherished adventures with family and friends, especially those found amongst the camaraderie of the Los Flojos Camp, Rancheros Visitadores and the Charlie Russell Riders. As a young man, Charley proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve, remaining an active supporter of our armed forces throughout his life.

Charley is preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Helen Lortz, his sister Evelyn Snider and daughter, Amy Lortz. Charley is survived by the immediate family members of his wife Joan Bison-Lortz, sister Julie Loustalot and son Nathan Lortz, as well as, many other family and dear friends.

In honor of Charley's wish, there will be no services. The family requests that Charley is remembered through love, laughter, and memories of shared adventures in all the good times. Charley will be placed at the family grave site with his parents and sister in Council, Idaho. Charley was a good man and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
