"Colts Patent" is sta...moremped on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. The letter "H" is stamped behind the hammer and trigger guard. Mechanics are good. Operational. Year of Manufacture: 1863. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Nickel finish. Wood grips. FEATURES: "C.F. Smith" has been stamped into the left wood grip. CONDITION: Poor/Fair. Revolver has been heavily buffed and refinished. The buffing removed much of the original markings and all of the engraved naval battle scene on the cylinder. Left wood grip has a corner chipped. Stamped Ortgies' Patent on slide (right side). ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Designed in Belgium, this pistol was first made in 1920 by Heinrich Ortgies & Co. of Erfurt, Germany. The firm sold all tooling and parts to Deutsche Werke AG, who continued to make the pistols until the mid 1940s. MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Blued steel. CONDITION: Good.
