This is a signed Navajo Native American Indian Kingman Spiderweb turquoise squash blossom. The rare piece shows a beautifully tooled design showing braided rope silver and silver feathers. The piece has rare Kignman Spider Web Turquoise stones and is on double strand of silver round beads. This rare necklace is an early to mid 1900's piece. There are ten blossoms measuring 1" x 1 ¾”. Each blossom also features a gorgeous Kingman Spiderweb turquoise stone complimenting the naja. The naja features a large Kingman Spiderweb turquoise gemstone accented by three smaller Kingman Spiderweb turquoise gemstones. The necklace measures 25 ½” when unclasped.

Included in this lot is a heavy Navajo Native American Old Pawn Lone Mountain turquoise and sterling silver bracelet. This bracelet is made of three bands of sterling silver. The center of this bracelet displays a large Lone Mountain turquoise stone with an incredibly detailed matrix. Silver braided rope and floral accents surround the large turquoise stone. The interior circumference of the bracelet measures 6 ½”.

Navajo 3rd Phase Lone Mountain Concho Belt

This is an original Navajo Native American Indian Third Phase Lone Mountain turquoise concho belt dating to circa 1930’s. In the early 1900s, the third phase of the concha belt began when artists learned how to set turquoise into their pieces. The piece shows a large oval buckle that is set with two polished gem quality turquoise stones from the Lone Mountain turquoise Mine. The belt also shows five butterfly conchos and seven oval conchos set with a single polished Lone Mountain turquoise stone. The belt is strung on a black tan leather. Each concho shows a period correct soldered copper loop on the back. Each concho has an outstanding hand tooled and etched intricate design with a fine scalloped edge. Overall the piece shows an outstanding large size. The buckle measures 3 3/8” by 2 3/4”, the butterfly conchas are each 1 3/4” by 3/4”, and each oval conchas are 2 3/4” by 2 1/4”. The belt overall measures 52 inches overall in length.

Maori New Zealand Carved Wood Model Canoe (WAKA)

This is a rare Maori New Zealand carved wood totem canoe model (WAKA). The canoe shows a deep carved totem like design with Abalone Mother of Pearl inlays. The canoe shows four oars and a wood matte lining. Overall the piece shows a nice condition and is signed on the bottom, "BCL. DAE. New Zealand Kauri." The canoe measures 30" long by 2 3/4" wide and 2" tall.

Sioux Beaded Moccasins circa 1890

The lot features a nice set of 19th Century beaded moccasins from the Sioux Native American Indians. The set shows parfleche rawhide soles which are sinew sewn to the Indian tanned hide tops which shows a medium ankle. The tops of the moccasins show a beaded geometric pattern with all 19th Century period correct glass trade seed beads of chalk white, black, greasy yellow, Cheyenne pink, red white heart, and medium blue. The set has a cross like central symobol with a pattern which acts as a border across the entire piece. The set shows sinew sewn beadwork in very good condition with little to no bead loss. Overall the set is well preserved and of a nice early rare age. Each shows a 10"L soles and 3.5"H ankles.

Northern Plains Beaded Pheasant Breech Clout 1900

Lot # 8 (Sale Order: 8 of 497)      

The lot features a beaded and pheasant feather adorned breech clout from the Northern Plains Native American Indians dating to circa 1900. The piece shows a U.S. Tent or tipi trade canvas and Indian tanned hide construction with excellent early 1900 trade beads and has a plume of pheasant feathers being secured with a large abalone shell gorget. The feather plume also shows an early KC Baking Powder tin top, gilt tin pocket frame and a tobacco snuff tin advertising top tied on with Indian tanned hide beneath the large gorget. A large gorget banner of abalone of this size is truly a fantastic and rare addition. The belt shows an early saddle harness leather construction with trade clothe ties. The beadwork is displayed in an inverted “v” pattern and shows fantastic faceted Czechoslovakian glass in black, green red and blue. The pheasant feathers are all covered in Indian tanned hide and is adorned in red and blue feathers. The piece was originally adorned with plumes of American Bald Eagle feathers, a true attribute to the authenticity and age of the piece (the Eagle feathers have been removed and destroyed to abide by all laws). The piece would have been worn as a breech clout front skirt panel on a warrior as a ceremonial dance outfit. Provenance: From a large American Indian collection in Great Falls, Montana. The piece has an original museum collection tag that reads, “AES SS” and “B-15.67”. The piece is in well preserved condition. Measures overall 35.5”l X 28”w at the widest feather points.

Indian Trading Post Sign - Tony's Blackfoot 1906-

This is an excellent original Indian Trading Post sign from Tony’s Blackfoot dating to circa 1906-1940’s. The sign is hand painted with all period correct pre-WWII paints on a tin Red Goose Shoes (for BOYS and GIRLS). Red Goose Shoes, originally Gieseke-D’Oench-Hayes, began branding as Red Goose Shoes in 1906 and was eventually merged and the brand was dropped in the 1940’s. This sign was likely from circa 1906-1920 and then repurposed for the Indian Trading Post in the 1920’s-1940. The sign reads, “genuine INDIAN MOCS Tony’s BLACKFOOT”. Likely a store from outside Glacier National Park in Montana, near the Blackfeet Reservation, where tribal items were sold to Glacier tourists. The sign has some paint loss, but overall displays very well and would make an extraordinary accent to your American Indian Moccasin collection. Measures overall 19”x13”.

The piece shows an smoked Indian brain tanned hide construction which has been sinew sewn and shows excellent porcupine quilled accents. The quillwork is along the shoulders of the long fringed yoke, around the waist as the belt, down the sides of the leggings and along the tops of the moccasins. The early Pre-1890's doll shows exceptional long hand cut fringe running down the skirt, leggings, yoke and more. The top shows Buffalo hair at the top and the hide has a nice yellow ocher mineral finish. The piece dates to circa 1860-1880's and is truly a wonderful doll in well preserved condition. Provenance: From a large American Indian collection in Billings, Montana. Measures overall 10"L by 7"W.

Bob Scriver "Tail Stander" Bronze Sculpture

This is an original Bob Scriver bronze sculpture titled "Tail Stander". The sculpture shows a cowboy holding tight on a bucking bronco. Robert Scriver (1914-1999) was born in Browning, Montana (in the heart of the Blackfoot Indian Reservation) in 1914. 1847 John Audubon Large Squirrel Etching ORIGINAL

Featured in this lot we have a John Woodhouse Audubon framed "Collies Squirrel" natural sized lithograph originating from 1847. John Woodhouse Audubon is the second son of the famous ornithologist and wild life painter John James Audubon. Following in his fathers footsteps, He painted primarily North American wildlife, but also did some portraits and landscapes. He is best known for his life size renditions of animals, his work in "The Viviparous Quadrupeds of America", and his completion of the second volume of The Birds of America. This piece shows a pair of collie squirrels and are painted in their natural size. The lithograph shows excellent attention to detail and shows almost life like appearance to the piece. The bottom of the piece is marked "Drawn From Nature By J.W. Audubon- Sciurus Colliaei, Rich Collies Squirrel Natural Size - Lith, Printed & Col by J.T. Bowen, Philad 1847" with the top marked "No. 21 Plate CIV". The piece is set into a golden frame with a grey border around the art and shows art gallery tags in the back. The gallery tags read "John James Audubon Collies Squirrel, Sciurus Colliaei, Rich Bowen Lithograph 1847" and is priced at $6,500. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. Teec Nos Pos is in the northeast corner of Arizona and rose to prominence in 1905, from the J.B. Moore’s Crystal weaving style with more detail. The Teec Nos Pos pattern is widely considered to be the most intricate and detailed of all Navajo rug design offering a truly exceptional distinct look with extraordinary skill. The rug shows a high quality 100% wool tightly hand-woven construction with nice large size showing all-natural vegetable dyed colors of black, white/cream, grey, brown and yellow. The rug has incredibly detail with a wonderful symmetrical whimsical design, a truly artist piece. The piece is in very well-preserved condition with little to no wear. Provenance: From a 90-year collection out of Central Arizona in the Coconino National Forest.
