1996 Honda CBR900RR
Registration no. N899 XAW
Frame no. JH2SC33A5TM005205
Engine no. SC33E-2014558
Odometer reading: 11,503 Miles
MoT expiry date: 15 May 2007

* Purchased new by the late owner
* Good cosmetic condition
* Requiring recommissioning

Launched in 1992, Honda's Fireblade rewrote the rulebook and blew away the opposition and went on to change the face of sportsbikes. The brainchild of Honda designer Tadao Baba, he was obsessed with weight saving and the 'Blade' used the latest technology together with a 122bhp 893cc engine, gradually enlarged throughout production. 1996 saw major changes to the CBR900RR including revised suspension and chassis. This 918cc third generation CBR900RR was purchased new by its late owner in May 1996 from Wylie & Holland Motor Cycles of Market Drayton. Used regularly until c.2006 alongside his stable of other sportsbikes, the machine was maintained by his personal mechanic. Last run and worked on in May/June 2017 (with the assistance of a slave battery), the machine is believed to have carburettor issues and is therefore sold strictly as viewed, requiring a replacement battery and recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent. Offered with V5C, old V5, original purchase receipt, Datatag correspondence, sundry invoices and a handwritten service bulletin.

1998 Honda VFR800 Frame no. JH2RC46A7WM002617 (see text) Engine no. RC46E2002895

Lot # 4 (Sale Order: 4 of 117)

1998 Honda VFR800
Registration no. R303 CNT
Frame no. JH2RC46A7WM002617 (see text)
Engine no. RC46E2002895
Odometer reading: Unknown – 19,922 miles to last 2015 MOT
MoT expiry date: 6 April 2016

* Purchased new by the late owner
* Good cosmetic condition
* Requiring recommissioning

With a formidable reputation for reliability and good build quality, the VFR800 paid homage to many of its predecessors, inheriting much of its engine design from the legendary RC45 of 1994, but with a detuned and longer-stroke powerplant. The VFR800 used its engine as a stressed member, initially seen in the VTR Firestorm and retained the trademark single sided swingarm we have all come to love. Purchased new by the late owner January 1998 from Wylie & Holland Motor Cycles of Market Drayton, the machine was used regularly up until April 2016 (last MOT date, displaying 19,922 miles). Last started April 2018 by the late owner's mechanic (with the assistance of a slave battery), the machine has been standing unused since, and requires a replacement battery (hence the absence of a current odometer reading). Accordingly, the machine will require recommissioning or restoration to a greater or lesser extent and is therefore sold strictly as viewed. Offered with V5C, old V5, expired MOT's, original purchase receipt and Datatag correspondence. It should be noted the VIN number/prefix has been incorrectly recorded on the V5/C documents from new (VFR800F1WE0002617) despite featuring correctly on the upper chassis.

1990 Honda VFR750F-L Frame no. RC36-2003200 Engine no. RC36E2003066

Lot # 6 (Sale Order: 6 of 117)

1990 Honda VFR750F-L
Registration no. G96 KNT
Frame no. RC36-2003200
Engine no. RC36E2003066
Odometer reading: 16,389 miles
MoT expiry date: 6 August 2018

* Two owners from new
* Good cosmetic condition
* Requiring recommissioning

Introduced in 1986, Honda's VFR750F had a lot to live up to. A capable sports bike, introduced to compete with the likes of Suzuki's GSX-R750 and Yamaha's FZ750, it performed incredibly well as an all-round 'sports tourer'. Purchased new by the vendor's late employer, the machine is presented in very good cosmetic condition, an honest and genuine example. The only obvious deviation from factory specification being an older Honda-type vented rectifier to combat the age-old problems with the later item. The machine is offered with two keys, an owner's manual, toolkit and V5C. The machine has been turned over regularly with a slave battery but has seen little use in recent years. Accordingly, the machine will require a replacement battery together with recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent and is therefore sold strictly as viewed. A fantastic opportunity to purchase a rapidly appreciating classic.

MoT expiry date: 6 August 2018

* Purchased new by the late owner
* Good cosmetic condition

When launched in 2008, the Special Edition Triumph Bonneville (SE) was said to have taken many of its cues from the late '70's T140D Special Edition including mag wheels and electronic ignition, but delivered so much more in addition; polished black alloy engine covers, chrome tank badges, shortened 'guards, upswept exhaust-silencers and a lower/narrower saddle. The Bonneville is as much of an icon today as it has ever been. Purchased new by the late owner June 2012, this SE A2 model is presented in phantom black. Maintained by the late owners mechanics January 2017 through July 2019, the machine hasn't been run since and will require recommissioning to a greater or lesser extent and is therefore sold strictly as viewed. Offered with V5C, original purchase order and handwritten service bulletin. It should be noted, the battery is flat, (requiring replacement) hence the odometer reading is presently unknown.

*Believed one owner from new
*Groundbreaking model launched at the Milan Show in late 1987
*Requiring recommissioning or restoration

The Ducati 851 is arguably one of the most influential motorcycles of recent times, and one of the most beautiful motorcycles, the Ducati 916 owes much to its predecessor. The 851 paved the way for so many of the Italian manufacture's superbikes. Believed to have been purchased new by the late owner in September 1992 from Woods Motorcycles of Abergele, Clwyd (the 1992 purchase receipt failing to record a km reading), the machine is believed to have been maintained by his mechanic however, there is no service history on file and it is unknown whether the cam timing belts have ever been changed. Similarly, the machine's battery is flat. Accordingly, the machine is offered strictly as viewed, requiring recommissioning and or restoration to a greater or lesser extent. Offered with V5C, old V5, 1992 purchase receipt and a selection of expired MOT's.

1986 Ducati 1,000cc Mike Hailwood Replica 'Mille' Frame no. ZDM1000R100700 Engine no. ZDM1000100905

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 9 of 117)

1986 Ducati 1,000cc Mike Hailwood Replica 'Mille'
Registration no. C479 JGL
Frame no. ZDM1000R100700
Engine no. ZDM1000100905
Odometer reading: 14,783 km (Not Warranted)
MoT expiry date: 6 March 2021

*135mph state of the art road going motorcycle
*An icon of the 1970s and 80s
*Ray Petty Meccanica dating letter

A landmark model, the Mike Hailwood Replica owes its existence to Mike The Bike's legendary Isle of Man TT comeback victory in the 1978 Production Race riding an ex-works NCR bike entered by Sports Motor Cycles. Based on the production 900SS, the MHR's most obvious difference was the full fairing finished in red, green and white. Mechanical changes were confined to lighter wheels, usually by Campagnolo, and improved Brembo brakes, while the MHR's performance was pretty much the same as that of the 900SS: around 135mph flat-out.

The MHR presented here is usually nicknamed the 'Hailwood Mille', getting a 1,000cc engine, a factory electric starter and a large fairing. The vendor purchased the machine from Yoshi Kosaka of The Garage Company in California and imported it direct from Japan 4 years ago. Recently MoT'd with no advisories, the machine is reported by the private seller to be running well. The machine was recently checked over by leading Ducati specialist Ray Petty Meccanica and had one of the carburettors floats unstuck and then synced. Offered with a V5C, Ray Petty Meccanica dating letter stating that the machine is a genuine example, and Ducati Owners Club Motorcycle Age Certificate stating that this example is from the final production run of this model.

1933 Riley 9 Monaco Saloon Chassis no. 6021470

1933 Riley 9 Monaco Saloon
Registration no. AGP 393
Chassis no. 6021470
Odometer Reading: 84,903
MoT Expiry: N/A

*Older restoration presenting well
*Running well
*First owner kept it for 55 years

Offering small-sized saloon sophistication, the Riley 9 Monaco saloon remains a highly usable pre-war model and this 1933 example, whose first owner kept it until 1988, is said to start and run very well, while the running gear and electrical system are in good order. Despite being restored between 1988 and 1991 the black bodywork still presents well, other than some shrinking to the roof material: the engine bay remains supremely tidy. The interior imparts an air of cars way more expensive and remains in good order throughout although there are some small holes in the front passenger seat. The headlining has been replaced. In all a highly desirable Monaco, of which few examples come to market.

1934 Austin APD Seven (Military Tourer)
Registration no. YXG 775
Chassis no. 276655
Odometer Reading: TBA
MoT Expiry: Exempt

*A rare Seven derivative
*VSCC dated
*New tyres

One of the rarer Seven versions, this APD tourer is a 1933/1934 model that wasn't road-registered until 1937, the trade vendor reports. It is said to have patinated (but charm-inducing) two-tone blue and black paint, the engine bay clean and tidy. The interior is a mix of original and later, the seat backs described as original and the bases recovered while the soft top (coming with side screens) is said to be good. Described as in running condition, the engine is 'willing' and said to start instantly.

Interesting Seven model that is described as being in running condition, the engine starting instantly and pulling well, while the two-tone paint adds to the charm. Ideal entry level VSCC motoring. Trade vendor.

*Rebuilt from stripped chassis and with new floor pan
*Engine said to be in good condition
*Bodywork said to be in good order

This 1934 Seven Box saloon is an ideal starter car for VSCC events, or those wanting a fun smaller pre-war car you can maintain at home. While it presents well, it is ripe for some further improvement, either from an old hand or from someone new to the idea of a pre-war car's refurbishment. Our vendor tells us the car's bodywork is in good condition, as is the glass and wheel/tyre combination, but the paint is average. However, a new floorpan, made by a sheet-metal craftsman, has been fitted. The interior in its entirety is presentable, but could be improved. The engine reportedly starts and runs well while the running gear, including gearbox (noisy on idle), clutch, suspension and brakes are in average order. There is some history.

1927 Morris Oxford Flatnose
Registration no. FH 4674
Chassis no. 173833

*Rare coachbuilt model built for a London judge
*Many special features
*Reportedly body removed for chassis restoration – photographic restoration record

Offered by a trade vendor this 'flatnose' was built specifically for a judge on the London circuit in 1927 and that the purpose-built bodywork was designed to allow the occupant to wear his full robes to the courts. The bodywork has been raised for increased headroom, the axle widened and rear wings feature indents so the doors afforded easier access, our vendor says. Reportedly the bodywork was removed to allow the chassis to be restored and the body was re-painted in blue and black while the interior was restored to a very high standard and features a sliding roof. Interior woodwork was re-furbished and the glass upgraded to laminate type. Offered with a good history file, this highly unusual Morris is ready to enjoy.

A very special offering with an interesting past that, the vendor says, includes many special features including high and opening roof line. The engine is said to have been refurbished. Trade vendor.

*Described as 'on the button'
*Room for four people
*Newly fitted Blockley Tyres

The 'bullnose' Morris was one of the earliest cars in the British old car movement, generating a loyal following just after the war when many were still being used regularly. The trade vendor says this doctor's coupé is in 'very good running' order and is said to have been serviced recently, while the radiator has been re-cored and a new shell fitted. Paintwork is reportedly 'very good' maroon over black and the interior is olive-coloured leather. A highly usable vintage Morris, benefitting from a Dickey seat.

This Oxford 'bullnose' has just been serviced and tuned, the trade vendor says, and that it is in 'very good running order'. The maroon and black bodywork with olive leather interior adds to its appeal. Trade vendor.

*Attractive example of the marque
*Smartly presented but requires finishing
*A rewarding project

Bonhams are delighted to offer this attractive just post vintage Sunbeam 16hp doctors coupé, a stalled restoration project with much work completed. Photos on file show an unrestored rolling chassis less body. The chassis has now been restored, and the bodywork appears to be of professional quality work with ash frame clad in aluminum. It is well presented in two-tone turquoise and black with a cream leather interior which requires some completion. The engine turns over by hand with compression, offered with many spares and copy technical paperwork.

Sunbeam models excelled in performance and build quality, not to mention often attractive bodywork and this much-completed project would be a highly worthwhile opportunity for any enthusiast of the marque.

1927 Frazer Nash Boulogne Super Sport Chassis no. 1118

*Period competition history including 1929 TT
*No expense-spared maintenance
*In-period competition history

Re-bodied as a saloon whose coachwork was scrapped following a wartime raid, this Boulogne was intended for restoration and after a long time those intentions became reality when it was re-bodied as a Super Sport. An ultra-lightweight body was built by Frazer Nash Car Club captain Bill Roberts and it saw many racing outings before being campaigned by Roberts' son, Steve Stanton: in 1999 it was part of the FNCC's Raid to Bolzano. One year later it was bought by the vendor. The engine was re-built and other mechanicals overhauled, without replacing any original parts. Since then it has taken part in numerous mainland European events including the 2010 Alpenfahrt and Vernasca in 2011 and 2012. Today it is described by the vendor as being in 'top condition', with a 'marvellous patina'.

With much competition history and much expenditure over the years this Boulogne Super Sport is an important part of 'Nash history and should delight any lover of 'true' British sporting cars.

*Much work completed
*Built in the style of a Barker design
*A rewarding project

With much of the hard work completed this 1929 Phantom I, built in a Barker style still needs some finishing off but with much of the bodywork and paint completed the amount of further work required is lessened. The paintwork appears to be of a good quality but the interior requires completion. Much of the internal cosmetic woodwork has been completed but trimming is needed: the dashboard appears complete. The engine bay presents well and the engine appears complete. A good history file accompanies the car detailing the chassis works, body frame construction etc. The engine turns over by hand with compression, the gearbox selects all gears and the steering and brakes work well.

An ideal project for someone wanting a Phantom I saloon they can complete to their specification, with much of the bodywork already carried out.

*£20,000 spent in last six years
*Holden bodywork
*Thought to be one of three such 20/60s

Powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, this 20/60 is said to run effortlessly at 50mph but has more in reserve if needed. Our trade vendor says much of this car's life was spent in Australia, before coming to the UK in 2007. There is some early history and it was eventually found in a Brisbane workshop, needing restoration. That work is said to have been completed before leaving Australia and in the last six years it is reported that £20,000 has been spent. Prior to that it is said the Holden bodywork was fully stripped and re-painted and the engine overhauled. The engine is described as having had an extensive re-build and is 'smooth and silent'.

With £20,000 reportedly spent on this 20/60 in the last six years it is said to run effortlessly at 50mph. It is believed to be one of just three such 20/60s and would make an ideal addition to any serious pre-war car collection. Offered by a Trade vendor.
