Description
Purchasing market animals through the Price County Market Animal Sale (MAS) program can be an easy way to get a freezer full of meat for a family, provide a main course for a customer or employee appreciation event, make a donation to a food pantry or another group, or many other options.
- Price County MAS participants first select high quality animals for their projects, then assure continued quality by providing select feed, continuous training and thoughtful attentiveness until the animal is finished to market standards.
- Participants also annually complete the quality assurance training program, Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA), and are required to attend at least two training or educational classes.
- Both business and individual bidders/buyers show pride in and support of our community's youth by participating, and receive publicity if desired.
- You have the opportunity to know the person/youth who raised the animal, where it was specifically grown, what it was fed, and the assurance that the animal was taken care of... Show more

My name is Oli Johnson. I am 10 years old and starting 5 th grade this year. My parents are Jeni and Adam Cook and Bill Johnson. I have been in 4H since kindergarten. I am a member of the Restless Rascals right here in Phillips. Some of my favorite things about 4H are the horse project, market animal sale, and the fun field trips. This year I've desired to do 2 market animals. The first is my hog Wilbur. Wilbur is a pure bred Hereford Hog. When I brought him home April 7 th he was only 8 weeks old and adorable. The second animal I am selling this year is my pure bred cinnamon rabbit. Her name is Trixie. This is my second year in market animal but first year doing a rabbit. My goal is to earn enough money to go to gymnastics Nationals for 20/21. I am a competitive gymnast and would love to see how I compare to other girls my age.

My hobbies are working with my pigs and goats, taking pictures, cross county, swimming, track and hunting. I also work as a lifeguard at the Phillips Community Pool. In my free time I enjoy playing Volleyball and hanging out with friends. I've been in 4H as long as I can remember and love the horse project! I am an active member of the Restless Rascals as well as a youth leader and member of the market animal project, horse project, poultry and lamb projects. This is my 4 th year selling. I've always done lambs and this year decided to try my hand at raising meat ducks. My lamb Spanky is a Hamp/Suffolk cross. I've worked very hard this year for a long and lean animal. My ducks name is Cupcake. She is a jumbo pekin. I really enjoyed getting to know ducks this summer! I plan to go to college in Missoula MT for Equine Science and my doctorate in Vetrinary Medicine.
