Rug # 1, AT1909 1.6 x 1.6 Atia Kerman China. Hand spun wool is hand knotted on an all cotton foundation. Chemical dyes are employed to achieve the ox blood red, which is the main color of this little power house. The design is of the Atia Kerman originally woven in Iran but due to political reasons this rug needed to be from China. Appraised Value $190.00.

Dosemealti Turkey
Rug # 5, 50011, 2.4 x 4, Dosemealti Turkish circa 1970. Hand spun wool warp and weft supports the all hand-spun wool symmetrically knotted with slight warp offset pile. Dyes employed are vegetal and display an earthy color pallet that has a deep red field with Deep blue and off white highlights. The design is typical and has two medallions with the scorpion motif in their middles. It is hoped that this scorpion motif will protect them from their bits as they tend to run into them in this region. The translation for Dosemealti is “under the floor” in Turkish. Appraised Value $250.00.

Rug # 6, 50012, 2.11 x 5, Dosemealti Turkish circa 1970. Hand spun wool warp and weft supports the all hand spun wool symmetrically knotted with slight warp offset pile. Dyes employed are vegetal and display an earthy color pallet that has red and off white field with deep blue red and off white highlights. The design is typical and a central medallion with the scorpion motif utilized. It is hoped that this scorpion motif will protect them from their bits as they tend to run into them in this region. The translation for Dosemealti is “under the floor” in Turkish. Appraised Value $395.00.
Romanian Bagshaish
Rug # 7, 50013, 2.11 x 5 Romanian Bagshaish, circ 1980. Woven in Romania with an all cotton warp and weft foundation and an all wool pile a-symmetrically knotted. Chemical dyes are evident with a pastel color pallet. The design is one of an old Heriz pattern that the Romanian weaver has copied. Appraised Value $395.00.
Afghan Beluch
Rug # 8, 140077, 2.7 x 4.7, Afghanistan Belouch circa 1970. An all hand spun wool warp, weft and pile is knotted with an a-symmetrical knot. Vegetal dyes render a pleasant color pallet with the earth tone’s dominating. This carpet is commonly referred to as a Hajji rug as those whom travel to worship in Mecca will weave these small carpets in exchange for room and board while on their Hajj. Appraised Value $337.00.

Rug # 9, 920054, 3.6 x 3.11, Kilim Turkey Santa design circa 1990. All hand spun wool with a weft face web or flat weave aka Kilim Gelim etc. Appraised Value $136.00.
Afghan Beluch
Rug # 10, BRC 35, bag, Afghanistan Balouch circa 1960. This bag is woven with an all hand spun wool warp, weft and an a-symmetrical knotted pile with tapestry and brocade work. A combination of vegetal dyed wool used for the wool pile with goat’s hair (naturally coloration) wrapped on the selvage. This design with bands of brocade work in geometrical shapes that represent flowers and luck symbols is utilized to carry personal objects of these nomadic people. Appraised Value $362.00.
Afghan Krojin Beluch
Rug # 11, 80009, bag Afghanistan Krojin Balouch circa 1980. This bag is woven with an all hand spun wool warp, weft and has the a-symmetrical knotted pile with tapestry and brocade work. A combination of vegetal dyed wool used for the wool pile with goat’s hair (naturally coloration) wrapped on the selvage. This design a single gul medallion is protected by the evil eye border with mysterious symbols within is utilized to carry personal objects of these nomadic people. The red dye indicates that these people trade in Iran for dyes and what ever needed. Appraised Value $362.00.
