Commonwealth of Pennsylvania John Miles 1797 contract musket, approximately .69 caliber, the lock stamped Miles CP for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the barrel also stamped CP just forward of the tang, liberty cap over P on left side of barrel, the walnut stock is stamped on the belly SP 24th REGT, 43 1/2" barrel.

Condition: Overall good condition, converted from flintlock to percussion, some pitting to barrel mainly around the lock, two vertical slashes on either side of butt stock, appears to be a period initials {AM} in left butt stock, tight 5" crack forward of the side lock, incorrect ramrod, small chip forward of the lock. | Estimate: $500=$800...more
