Online-Only Info

Lot # 0

This is an Online Only "Timed Auction" with a "soft closing" and the only way to bid is through ProxiBid. When lot #1 goes "Live" at 10:00am CST there will be a 60 second...more time clock that will reset every time a new bid is placed, once there has been no bids for a full 60 seconds that lot will close. TWO NEW LOTS WILL GO "LIVE" EVERY 60 SECONDS, the software WILL NOT WAIT until one lot has closed before starting the 60 second time clock on the next lots. THERE WILL BE MULTIPLE LOTS SELLING AT THE SAME TIME throughout the day. The best way to participate is to leave "Max Bids" and let the software do the bidding for you. ProxiBid software executes the max bids, NOT THE AUCTION COMPANY, and will only bid for you up to your Max Bid price, if needed. For Example, if you leave a Max Bid on an item for $800 and that item only gets bid up to $400, you only pay $400. If you want to raise your "Max Bid", the software will not let you raise your current bid. This software is designed to work for you, not against you. It simply executes your bids competitively, just as if you were bidding yourself. Also note that "Live Bidding" problems can happen. For example, a slow internet connection or multiple people trying to bid at once can effect the speed at which you are viewing the auction and an item may sell before you are able to bid. So, once again, if you have not left Max Bids as a backup, you could miss out.

1890 W.H. Davenport, Wells Fargo Agent - Ft. Worth, 12 Ga., Single-Shot, SN - 11894

Lot # 1

This early W.H. Davenport Arms single-shot short-barrel (21.25") "stagecoach gun" features a "Wells Fargo 55 Express 1890" tin badge tacked into stock along with several ...moreWells Fargo stock stamps to include "FT. WORTH AGENT", "WELLS FARGO PROPERTY", "55", "WF & CO EX", "S.F. CAL" and the agents initials "DWB". In the 19th century, customers who wanted to transport their money and valuables securely turned to Wells Fargo. The company had built a reputation for taking safety seriously, and its stagecoaches carried gold, silver, and other valuables from one location to the next. To safeguard such shipments, Wells Fargo shipped gold and other treasure in sturdy wooden boxes carried in the front boot of a stagecoach or secured inside the stagecoach in an iron safe. Despite these precautions, criminals found Wells Fargo’s treasure boxes too tempting to resist, and robbery attempts were common. To reduce crime, the company hired armed messengers to “ride shotgun” and sit upfront with drivers to guard valuable shipments. To pursue criminals after a robbery occurred, the company hired a small force of special agent investigators. These agents helped build the reputation for security that Wells Fargo is still known for today. Although Wells Fargo "Stagecoach Guns" have been heavily reproduced in the 20th Century, this gun has every attribute needed to be considered an authentic "Agent Gun" and is believed to be a genuine/ original piece of 19th Century Wells Fargo history. This gun appears to be in good working order. George Sheets Collection

Remington, Model 870 Express Field/ Deer Combo, 12 Ga., Pump (New-In-Box), SN - CC39850A

Lot # 22

The Remington Model 870 Pump-Action Shotgun is one of the most proven firearm's designs in history. The 870 Express is a rugged, workhorse, making it one of the most usef...moreul tools that an outdoorsman can own. The versatility of the 870 Express Combo comes from an interchangeable 2 barrel system: (1) 26" vent-ribbed barrel with a bead sight that uses standard Rem Choke screw-in choke tubes (comes with 1 modified tube); and a 20'' fully rifled barrel with rifle sights. Having 2 barrels, the 870 Combo can be used for virtually any shooting situation, including hunting waterfowl, upland game, turkey, and deer, as well as a home defense shotgun, and informal clay pigeon shooting. At the heart of the ultra reliable 870 Remington is a receiver milled from a solid billet of steel for maximum strength, and twin action bars that prevent binding and twisting while cycling the action. 870 pump shotguns have great pointing characteristics. They come to the shooter's shoulder and acquire targets instinctively, and swing fluidly on fast flying birds. The Remington Model 870 Express Combo Pump-Action Shotgun comes with a durable checkered wood stock and fore-end, and a matte blue/black, bead-blasted finish on the receiver and barrels. A durable, rubber recoil pad dampens recoil and helps shooter to stay on target for faster follow up shots. All 870 Express shotguns function with either 2-3/4" or 3" shotgun shells interchangeably. This gun is unfired in original box with paperwork.

1964 Ithaca, Model 37 Featherlight, 20 Ga., Pump, SN - 870766

Lot # 24
