Driving Directions: From Interstate 64, take Interstate 264 toward Virginia Beach, VA. Once in Virginia Beach, take the South First Colonial Rd exit. First Colonial becomes Oceana Blvd after a 1/4 mile, stay on Oceana for 3 miles till you pass NAS Oceana's main gate (Tomcat Blvd). At the next stop light, turn right onto Harpers Rd, go 100 fet and then turn left into the Harpers Road Commerce Park - the auction house is located on the back left.

"The Mighty Eigth - Outward Bound" by Robert Taylor Framed Print

A Golden Anniversary edition commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Fighter Groups of the U.S. Eighth Air Force. 78th FG Thunderbolts preparing to depart Duxford - with two visiting 361st FG Mustangs in the background while overhead other 361st FG Mustangs climb away from Bottisham. An open edition print from the Imperial War Museum in Duxford England. It measures 32.5" x 25" and is framed.

Civil War era Navy Veteran Service Document

Lot # 26 (Sale Order: 27 of 78)

An unusually large (30"x 38")personalized Civil War era Navy Veteran Service Document in good shape with a few water stains. It documents the service Harry Keakans, a sailor in 1861 and on the USS Colorado first at the Portsmouth Naval Yard and then the Gulf Squadron. He was discharged after two years and re-enlisted for two more. Still serving on the Colorado, he participated in the bombardments at Ft Fisher in Wilmington, NC. Damaged, the Colorado was at Brooklyn Navy Yard when Lincoln was shot. Keakans was ordered with the Colorado on a "round the world cruise" to search for the assassins. Honorably discharged in 1867, this print was given to him by his wife in 1893. The image was designed by J.W. Carnahan, 1891, for Monumental Bronze Company, Bridgeport, Connecticut, This large print was sold to finance the Easel Monument Project, which was an 1890s effort to create a memorial to the "Brave Boys in Blue" to be placed in the center of the Union Soldiers and Sailors National Park in 1898. This image is an artifact from an unsuccessful effort to create "a National Monument, dedicated to the Grand Army of the Republic and Kindred Societies." Comes with a patriotic frame, but no glass.

This custom personalized "Operation Fittles" Berlin Airlift by RG Smith (with his signature). Framed Print named to Capt Harry D. Immel - Last Flight. Besides the print, it has a Humanitarian Service Medal, Berlin Brigade Patch and 50th Anniversary Patch. Double matte and frame, but no glass. Print has slipped, really needs to be redone. Dimensions are 21"x 27".

"WILL YOU GIVE US OUR WHISKY NOW?" by Don Stivers Framed Print

It was a warrior's dangerous bargain: denied their whisky ration for misconduct on the march and ordered to take the lower bridge across Antietam Creek after other units had been stalled by heavy enemy fire, one of the 5 Pennsylvania piped up, "Will you give us our whisky, Colonel, if we take it?" Assured by their colonel that they would, the regiment stormed the bridge and established a Union foothold on that end of the battlefield of Antietam, September 17,1862. This limited edition signed print is one of 1000, has a 18"x 24" image size and is matted in very good condition. It came out in 1995 and sold for $260.

"...Cross over the River" Stonewall Jackson by Mort Kunstler Framed Print

Let us cross over the river and rest under the shade of the trees. Those were the last words spoken by General Stonewall Jackson - and became the inspiration for this painting. In ...Cross Over the River, Jackson is standing at the riverside with his arms folded as he communed with God in a silent, respectful ritual. Nearby we see Little Sorrel grazing, as he patiently waits for his master. This is a framed and matted printing of a painting originally titled "Cross Over the River" by Mort Kunstler. This limited edition is 24"x 18" and was one of 1750. There is one on sale by Prints.com for $1199 down from $2700!

"Reynolds" by Dale Gallon Framed Print

The Commanders Series by Dale Gallon - Chambersburg Pike just west of Gettysburg On the morning of July 1, 1863, Major General John F. Reynolds instructs Captain James Hall of the 2nd Maine Light Artillery Regiment where to position his guns. This 1996 dated limited edition signed print is one of 950 with an image size of 16" x 26". This triple matted print retails for $300 unframed.
