Welcome to the auction! The catalog is in its final order and is all set to go. Starting bids are always low, and do not reflect the true value of any item.

YOUR BID shall be conclusive proof that you have made yourself acquainted with these conditions and those stated in "Information & Special Terms" and you have agreed to be bound by them. We encourage and welcome any and all questions BEFORE placing a bid because All Sales Are Final and all items are sold as-is, where-is.

We do not and cannot guarantee nor warranty the authenticity of any item. For each item we bring to auction, it is the bidder's responsibility to determine condition, age, genuineness, value, or any other determinative factor; we make no representations to any aforementioned criteria, and all titles and descriptions are statements of opinion. In no event shall we be responsible for having made or implied any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Bidder shall be the sole judge of value.

Each item has multiple detailed photographs; please use your own expertise when bidding. We do not and cannot appraise nor obtain a third party opinion on the thousands of items we auction each year. Please bid knowing this.

Payment: Invoices are sent via email immediately following the sale. Your credit card on file with Proxibid will be processed for payment within 48 hours of the end of sale. Please ensure the account number and expiration date is accurate and the card can bear the weight of your purchases. Issues with payment may result in a suspended account with us and with Proxibid. After 48 hours and two processing attempts, declined credit card holders will be additionally charged a collection fee of $75 or 20% of the outstanding balance, whichever is greater, unless alternate payment arrangements have already been made. USPS money orders or checks are also accepted, and envelope must be postmarked by the day after the sale; mail to PO Box 224, Effort PA 18330.

Shipping: Pickup in person for any item is welcomed; just contact us to make arrangements. Otherwise, all non-firearm/ammo items are shipped through The UPS Store (Mt. Pocono, PA) at buyer's expense. UPS packages, insures, and ships your valuables and will contact winning bidders directly in the days after the sale for delivery timing and payment. Shipping estimates using the dimensions listed in the description may be helpful to you. Quality packaging and shipping is not cheap, and we have no control over prices charged for such services. FIREARMS and ammo will only be shipped to the 50 states of USA. Our office location is moving to Pocono Lake, PA this month, and the FFL with it, so shipping may be slightly delayed dependent on the timing of licensure. Emailed FFLs are preferred over faxes: email to yourlegacy@verizon.net, or fax to 570-688-9555 beginning Aug 20th. Shipping charges for all firearms includes new long gun box, tracking, insurance up to $500, and signature confirmation of delivery. Buyer pays at-cost insurance above $500 and for unusual/special packaging (i.e. extra-long barrels). Handgun $30 East or $35 West of Mississippi River; Long gun $40 East or $45 West of Mississippi River. Any firearms unclaimed for shipping 90 days after the sale will be charged a storage fee of $2 per day beginning on Day 90; this fee will be added to the shipping fee once claimed.

Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Brass Lacquered Microscope with Wooden Case, University of Pennsylvania

What a great estate find! Just as found in the home of an alum of the U of Penn comes this very collectible scientific microscope. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar microscope with dovetailed wooden case with lock and key still together. Ready to collect and display. Serial No. 49364 places it at 1898...amazing. Coarse focus is by rack & pinion and fine focus is by knob mount on top of the limb. Microscope has a draw tube marked 15-20 as shown, a triple-nose piece, square stage with pair of slide clips. The reflective mirror looks to be damage free with no cracks or quick silver missing. Marked on base "PATH. LAB. UNIV. PENNA 34". Comes with three eyepiece empty screw-top case/tubes in wood rack that inserts into the case. Brass shows very well with missing surface color missing in areas as shown. As shown in one photo the eye piece has a "line" in it. Not sure what it is but now you know. Do your homework on this, these are sought after. Great for optics or medical collector, or U of Penn Alum. Do not miss out on this one!

Ladies MOVADO SPORTS EDITION Stainless Steel MUSEUM Watch 86-A3-836K

Vintage ladies steel Museum Movado Watch in previously used condition. Watch shows very well with light use marks with surface scratches and slight blemishes as shown. Crystal has no cracks, steel links are attached with three extras included which are not shown. Battery needs to be replaced. As with all of our auction timepieces we do not guarantee that they work although we expect once the battery is replaced that this will run just fine. Also included is the black leather case marked MOVADO as shown in the photos. As you can see the leather case has surface cracks inside and out. These Museum watches still retain their timeless look and draw attention. This is a nice used sports model that is ready to wear and enjoy.

Vintage Animal Trap Company of Mississippi Mallard Decoy Duck with Glass Eyes

Wooden duck decoy manufactured by the Animal Trap Company of Mississippi, Inc. in Pascagoula Miss. Pintail Drake decoy, from the late 1940's to mid 1950's time frame. Original paint with expected surface wear, but as you can see this still shows great. Marked on the bottom as shown with crude metal washer weights that just add to its folksy look. Nice hunting duck decoy ready to retire and add to your collection. Great looking bird. Measures 16.5" long.

Canvasback Mallard Wooden Duck Decoy, Unsigned

Good looking hunting duck decoy in very good condition, shows great as you can see. Unsigned as best we can tell, as we do not see any markings. Unknown maker but as you can see this is well done. Only paint issue we see is on the bottom as shown. Although it does show overall paint wear, this piece has some age to it for sure. Neck has a crack in the wood surface, but does not feel loose at all. Ready to collect and enjoy. Measures 15" long

Canvasback Wooden Duck Carved and Signed by Bryon Bodt

Carved wooden duck by famed decoy carver Bryon Bodt of Churchville, MD done in the Havre de Grace Style of gunning decoys. Signed by Bryon on the bottom in 1990. This decoy shows super, no issues, clean and likely never used for hunting. Stamped "BODT" on the bottom as well. Well done and ready to display. Large Cattaraugus Bone Handle Folding Pocket Knife, Little Valley NY, Circa 1920

Lot # 10 (Sale Order: 10 of 340)      

A great example of an early American crafted knife, originally involved with Case knives. Blade is in very good condition with finish between white and gray with black markings. Thumbnail pull. Beautiful blade, no issues. Blade tip is pointy with no damage.  Most importantly, it is stamped as shown, "CATTARAUGUS CUTLERY Co, LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y." When opened, locks in place tightly with slight side-to-side wobble. Closes, but not a great snap, however, stays securely in place. Coke bottle design peach pit bone handles are both in very good condition with no cracks, and no issues around rivets. As shown, previous owner carved "Albert Miller" into the one handle. Possibly nickel silver bolsters and brass liners finish out the body of this beautiful older folding knife. Blade measures 4" long. Measures, closed, nearly 5-1/2 inches long.

Great looking WWI-era U.S. military bayonet and scabbard. Blade is marked, "1917 Remington" and flaming bomb logo as shown. Blade is in very good condition throughout including long blood groove, runs most of blade. Both edge and point have no issues. Blade is 17" long. Wood grips are damage free. Spring release mechanism works as it should. Bayonet fits snugly into scabbard. Scabbard itself is in very good condition, with no issues to leather. Marked, "GF" on top and bottom of scabbard. A great American-made military bayonet knife ready to add to your collection.

Japanese WWII Type 99 Rifle Bayonet with Metal Scabbard

Japanese bayonet for Type 99 rifle. Arsenal marks on blade, as shown, include the four ball and hour glass marks. Unknown company name but under Kokura supervision. Wood grips are in good condition, right side grip has a crack as shown. Blade is in good condition; edge has some minor nicks throughout half of blade. Point appears to be damage-free. Thick blood groove runs most of blade. Finish has some black spots throughout. Blade measures 15-1/2" long. Bayonet fits tightly into metal scabbard with no wobble. Metal scabbard has no dents to speak of, and has aged to a rust finish. WWII collectible ready for your collection.

Early U.S. Navy Officer's Sword with Leather Scabbard, Nippon

A great military estate find. Nicely detailed blade marked Nippon as shown. All original and in fantastic condition as shown. Hand guard is well detailed with eagle on pommel. Ray skin handle is in very good condition, however it is missing its wire wrap. Amazingly, still retains its original leather sheath. In good condition considering age, and with expected wear. Scabbard has two pommel rings with rope knot adornments. Hand guard, pommel, and metal on scabbard appear to have gold wash finish. A great example of a USN officer's sword, nicely preserved. RARE Krag Bowie Knife Bayonet with Metal Sheath, Marked "US 1900"

Second-rarest ever made, dated 1900. Look at this amazing find. This knife has never been sharpened, and you almost never find an unsharpened example 113 years later. Gorgeous to view, and even nicer to hold. Marked, "US" and "1900" on the ricasso. Original factory wooden grips are damage-free and incredible. Spring release mechanism works exactly as it should. Includes black metal belt sheath with ball tip end, in fantastic condition, with no dents or even a scratch to speak of. Knife locks in securely with a nice sound. U.S. AMES 1833 Model Heavy Dragoon Sword with Metal Scabbard

Lot # 15 (Sale Order: 15 of 340)      

This 1833 model was so popular, it was used until 1840. Hand engraved inscription as shown, "NP Ames Cutlery Springfield 1837," and stamped "WS" on ricasso as shown; cutlery "y" is missing. Be sure to view all the photos. This is a heavy, well-made American edged weapon is another fine example in this sale. Blade is damage-free with no nicks to speak of and a very sharp point. Black marks throughout are to be expected, and of no major issue. Still retains now hardened leather throat guard. Ornate hand guard. Leather covering is no longer present on wooden handle. A crack runs about 80% of length of wooden handle. Blade measures 34" long. Includes metal scabbard with two hanging rings. Only issues seen are three creases/dents on scabbard. Amazingly enough, the drag toe is present and in very good condition. We almost never find it like that because most were rusted-out due to lack of drain holes. We know these are hard to come by. Do not miss out on this one.

U.S. Deluxe 1840 Mexican War Sword with Matching Scabbard and Two Gold-wash Hangers, Horstman & Sons

For the most discerning sword collector, this Mexican War sword with its original metal scabbard with two hangers. You would be hard-pressed to find another like it anywhere. Ornate eagle pommel and hand guards with great detail and look, as shown. Handle is hand carved bone in Mexican War period style and looks fantastic. Blade is ornate with floral and oak leaf pattern throughout length. Blade is in very good condition with no issues at all, and still retains sharp point. Included is the gold wash metal scabbard, and still retains the amazingly-crafted two hangers. Much detail on the scabbard and hangars. Marked in scabbard as shown in scroll outline, HORSTMAN & SONS PHILADA. Marked 122 at the top of scabbard. An exceptional find, and thrilled to offer it. Blade measures 32" long.

1876 American Centennial Presentation Sword to Captain Cleary, for Civil War Service

Lot # 17 (Sale Order: 17 of 340)      

As awarded to Captain R.E. Cleary by his men after the conclusion of the U.S. Civil War, and at the centennial anniversary of the declaration of the United States of America. Includes both sword and metal scabbard, engraved, "Capt. R.E. Cleary from NON COM'S AND PRIVATES of CO E. 5th Regiment T-M-N-G Oct 18th 76." Given to Capt. Cleary who served the Maryland National Guard during the Civil War and was active in the GAR at the time of this presentation. Blade still retains high amount of sheen and is damage-free, with a sharp point. Horn handle is in very good condition, and beautiful, with no issues seen. Detailed hand guard and pommel complete this ceremonial edged weapon. Included is the metal scabbard with three hangar rings, in fine condition with no issues. Together, this great combination presented 137 years ago.

18th Century British Sword by Sargant & Son, with Leather Scabbard

Unique with such an inscription and simply not made of this age have survived. Inscribed on the blade as partially shown, "Manufacturers to the Honorable East India Co." Sword is in good condition, considering its age (1700s). Includes hand guard, handle, pommel made of brass. As shown, blade is in good condition, with as-expected;rust spots throughout. Blade edge and point are damage-free. Slight wobble to blade. Blade measures 26" long. Leather scabbard is in fair to poor condition, as it is fragile, and missing some leather at sword point, so about last 3" of blade protrudes.

Pennsylvania Early 19th Century, Large Hand Carved Double Wedding Band Powder Storage Horn

Just a great example of an early American larger storage / Sergeant powder horn. Incredibly crafted of bull horn with rich color, double wedding band design, and large domed wooden end cap, which is held in place with four nails. A professional example, as the horn has been thinned masterfully. Domed head measures 1-1/4" thick and 3-3/4" in diameter, with fantastic finish and wear. Includes, we believe, original period wooden stopper. A super military and folk art collectible. Large and curved, measures over 17-1/2" long end-to-end straight measure.

RARE! Wooden Canteen of Abel Scull, Great Egg Harbor, New Jersey, Revolutionary War, 1779

Lot # 23 (Sale Order: 23 of 340)      

Wow, were we thrilled to receive this straight from a lifelong collector, and we may never see one again. We've not had a similar example of such an historical artifact. This is a classic American folk art design wooden canteen, created during the American Revolutionary War (17751783). Intricately crafted and hand inscribed "ABEL SCULL, GR. EGG HARBOR N.J., 1779" carved into one side and "LIBERTY" on the other. This canteen has a fantastic look with incredible craftsmanship. Now missing most of its original leather strapping as shown, with a newer wire twist at the leather ends. Primitive handmade wooden stopper fits well and showcases this patriotic relic. Includes papers on Abel Scull's family genealogy, printed from an Internet family tree search. Canteen measures 5-3/4" diameter and 2-3/4" deep.
