Original bevo-weave German WWII SS "Reinhard Heydrich" cuff title. Elite German SS regiments received ceremonial titles to commemorate various Nazi military celebrities. Reinhard Heydrich, Nazi henchman and would be future Fuhrer of Germany had an SS regiment named in his honor after he died from wounds received from Czech assassins. This cuff title is one of the rarest and most sought after among collectors.

Serial no. 300-37000. 9mm x 19 caliber. 4 1/2-inch barrel. Matt blue finish. Composition grips. With gray plastic Ruger safety box, extra magazine and instruction manual. Top of slide behind front sight engraved: "Presented to P.X. Kelley/General, United States Marine Corps/Commandant of the Marine Corps/By William B. Ruger." Accompanied by Sturm, Ruger & Co. factory letter documenting presentation. Sold without magazine.
Condition: Excellent. Minor storage marks.
Notes: As documented in Ruger & His Guns, A History of the Man, the Company and Their Firearms, very few firearms were presented by the founder, or the company. The serial number was likely specially selected, not at random. Factory ledgers indicate shipment January 18, 1989, and documents its presentation to General Kelley. In the mid-1990s Kelley was appointed to the Board of Directors of Sturm, Ruger & Co. and was a longtime friend of Wm. B. Ruger, Sr. and Jr.This lot is restricted from sale to residents of the State of California or requires buyers to have special Federal licenses to purchase.
