Custom framed.This is in excellent condition. Claude Oscar Monet was a French impressionist painter who brought the study of the transient effects of natural light to its most refined expression. Monet was born on 1840, in Paris, but he spent most of his childhood in Le Havre. There, in his teens, he studied drawing; he also painted seascapes outside with the French painter Eugene Louis Boudin. By 1859 Monet had committed himself to a career as an artist and began to spend as much time in Paris as possible. During the 1860s he was associated with the preimpressionist painter Edouard Manet, and with other aspiring French painters destined to form the impressionist school Camille Pissarro, Pierre Auguste Renoir, and Alfred Sisley. Working outside, Monet painted simple landscapes and scenes of contemporary middle-class society, and he began to have some success at official exhibitions. As his style developed, however, Monet violated one traditional artistic convention after another in the interest of direct artistic expression. His experiments in rendering outdoor sunlight with a direct, sketchlike application of bright color became more and more daring.

Each still life painting is visually arresting and compelling and reveals a wonderful technical skill at constructing compositions. Melendez conveyed the precise texture of objects in artful compositions of great sophistication. Despite his talent he lived in poverty for most of his life. and in 1772 in a letter to the king he declared that he only owned his pencils. He died in Madrid in 1780.

Louis Icart was born in Toulouse, France. He began drawing at an early age. He was particularly interested in fashion, and became famous for his sketches immediately. He worked for major design studios at a time when fashion was undergoing a radical change-from the fussiness of the late nineteenth century to the simple, clingy lines of the early twentieth century. He was first son of Jean and Elisabeth Icart and was officially named Louis Justin Laurent Icart.Icart fought in World War I. Icart was a successful banker to please the family. It was not until his move to Paris in 1907 that Icart would concentrate on painting, drawing and the production of countless beautiful etchings, which have served to indelibly preserve his name in twentieth century art history. When he returned from the front he made prints from those drawings. The prints, most of which were aquatints and drypoints, showed great skill. Because they were much in demand,These prints are considered rare today, and when they are in mint condition they fetch high prices at auction.Icart has created for us a picture of Paris and New York life in the 1920s and 1930s.

Gustav Klimt Limited edition hand embellished giclee on archival canvas. The signature is in the plate. Size is approx 26 x 36 inches. Klimt was a lightning rod for harsh criticism throughout his career. He either worked in the wrong style, was too vague for popular tastes or was far, far too explicit, for Viennese sensibilities. After repeated skirmishes with both the State and the Artists Association, Klimt and ten other like-minded artists formed the Vienna Secession in 1897. Though the group was wildly successful, inevitable personality and style clashes arose and Klimt resigned from the Secession in 1905. He is best known today for his sensual portraits of women (clothed or otherwise), enhancing his jewel-like palette with gold and silver paints, mother of pearl and bits of real jewelry, and his immense talent as a draftsman. Gustav Klimt who died in Vienna in 1918 is regarded as one of the main representatives of the Vienna Art Nouveau.

He had an older brother who died at birth who was also named Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh suffered from depression and shot himself but did not die for two days at the age of 37.
