Rare Open Panel Shrunken Core Onionskin with Mica.

Rare form of an onionskin especially in this small size. The core is a shrunken onionskin mainly orange with some yellow. Outer decoration is one panel of green and yellow opposing one panel of blue, red, orange, white and green. The two opposing clear panels have floating mica. Under a 20x loop surface shows two micro fleabites. Faceted pontil. Condition (9.0). Size 21/32" Dia.

Shrunken 4 - panel core with two opposing panels of green and yellow and two opposing panels of red and yellow. There is the perfect amount of evenly dispersed mica in suspension to still see onionskin core clearly. Surface is great with small micro as made hot spots. Faceted pontil. Condition (9.6). Rare Open Panel Onionskin with Mica Core.

Very rare form of an onionskin marble. Two opposing panels of yellow with red spotting with mica on both panels and two opposing clear panels. Core is loaded with mica. Surface shows an as made shallow blowout (3/8"L x 15/54"W) A small chip is on edge of blowout. Rest of the surface shows some micro pitting and light scratches. Pontil is well faceted. Condition (8.7). Size 2-1/16" Dia.

Lot includes one end of cane and one caned banded opaque. The end of cane is apple green base with one side having spotting colors of yellow, brown, red, blue and orange. Rare Large Two Color Banded Lutz Marble.

This is the first we have seen with two colors. Clear base with one side having two bands of mint green and the other side with two bands of blue. Nice twist of color band and Lutz bands. Marble looks wet, mint with one small clean half circle chip, possibly as made. Condition (9.1). Size 1-5/8" Dia.

Both are unglazed. The smaller has two sets of three blue bands which intercept to form four equal quadrants. Two opposing quadrants have green leaves and two opposing quadrants have red leaves. The larger china has blue bullseyes on each end and red and green leaf pattern around the equator. Condition (9.3). Size 1 - 3/16" to 1 - 13/64" Dia.

First of this style we have seen. Unglazed China with two opposing red and black bullseyes and two opposing all blue bullseyes. Also included are two opposing green unusual leaf sprays. Condition (9.3). Size 45/64" Dia.

Both Chinas are unglazed early period. The first one has a wide band of green around equator and brown pinwheels on each pole. The second China has five bands of green around equator (some fading of paint) and red fan style pinwheels at each pole. Condition (9.3). Size 3/4" Dia.

Very hard to find stoneware marbles. The smallest has a brown bullseye circled by blue on one pole and a blue bullseye circled by brown on opposite pole. A brown band circles the equator. The second marble has a brown coil on one pole and a wide light brown band circling the equator. The largest has a blue coil on one pole while three dark brown bands circle the opposite pole. Three very nice examples. Condition (9.5). Size 13/16" - 1-1/16" Dia.

The larger has two sets of parallel red bands going around the marble that intersects to form four quadrants. Two opposing quadrants are painted green. Surface shows as made rest spots. Yellowware marbles are known to have been made by several potteries in Ohio. Condition (8.6-9.3). Size 5/8" - 1-5/16" Dia.

The smallest is a mint, amber and white horizontal swirl with as made embedded brass hook. Factory made novelty possibly used for a necklace. The second is a very tight lined amber and white horizontal swirl marble. The surface shows several blowouts and chips. The largest is a mint, dark purple and white horizontal swirl marble.
