1966 VW Beetle 1966 VW Beetle

1966 VW Beetle

Lot #102 (Sale Order 2 of 43)

  • Pearl white with Pigalle red leatherette interior
  • Cosmetic as well as mechanical restoration
  • Vintage 60s style radio
  • Roof rack
  • Exterior side view mirror
  • Runs and drives beautifully drive it anywhere!

Who cant recall owning or at least riding in an early Volkswagen Beetle? Even though it is one of Ferdinand Porsches best designs and is of course German made, the Bug is a part of Americana.

If you have ever owned a 1966 Beetle, you probably have a feel for the things that made it special. There were some unique changes in the 1966 model year. The emergency flasher on the dash in 1966 was a one-year-only change, while other improvements, like the suspension, were more long-term changes that were incorporated into the Beetle. The 1966 model was also the only year for the 1300 engine and the last year of the 6-volt electrical system. At 50 horsepower you would think it would barely get out of its own way, but remember it only weighed 1,672 lbs!

Offered here is a wonderful, fun to drive 66 finished in Pearl White (paint code 687 13) over Pigalle red leatherette (code 75) interior. No better combination for an early Bug. Recently completed rebuild of the 1300cc motor makes this the perfect weekend car to drive anywhere. Oh yes, if you take it on a long trip, it comes with the optional roof rack for those extra bags!!

As one of the most recognizable cars in the world, the Porsche 911 remains a quest of many Porsche aficionados. Introduced in 1995, the 993 series were the last of the rear-mounted, air-cooled engine 911s. The new 911 resembled the limited production 959. Mechanically the 993 carried over the 270 hp 3.6-litre engine from the 964, incorporated a revised rear suspension, new braking system and other refinements that brought a meaningful increase in overall styling, performance, ride-ability and handling. The 993 Cabriolet offered here is presented in Grand Prix white over grey leather with a grey cloth convertible top and boot sporting standard 17-inch Porsche Carrera Cup-design wheels. This color combination gives this 993 a nice classy fashionable look. The cabin of the new 993 features a redesigned more ergonomic leather-trimmed interior, electric seats and six-speed manual transmission. The speedometer is showing that this car was driven just little over 8100 miles. For the true Porsche enthusiast, this 1995 Carrera 993-series Cabriolet will certainly provide an abundance of thrilling, open-air driving pleasure2 presents a prime opportunity to acquire one of the finest examples of the final air-cooled 911s.

1973 Porsche 914 1973 Porsche 914

1973 Porsche 914

Lot #104 (Sale Order 4 of 43)

  • Fabulous original car
  • Meticulously maintained
  • Never modified
  • Rare 5 speed transmission

Since the demise of the 356 in 1965, Porsche relied on the 912 essentially a 4-cylinder 911 as its entry level model but they needed an all-new car to attract young buyers to their showrooms. Concurrently, VWs flagship Karmann-Ghia was proving very expensive to build and due for replacement. Porsches Ferdinand Piech had the idea of a joint venture between the two companies; one sports car could be built and offered with the choice of flat-four or flat-six engines. VW would market and sell the 4-cylinder cars while the 6-cylinder cars would be sold as entry level Porsches. Porsche lacked the money to develop the car, so an old verbal agreement was brought into play that would see VW financing the tooling and manufacturing. As the 914 project was well into its development, the chairman of VW died, paving the way for a new chairman who had no such loyalty to an old handshake agreement. VW pulled the financial plug on the 914 and Porsche was stuck with the bill to develop and build the new sports car, causing the price to rise dangerously close to that of the 911.

While the 914 had a difficult gestation, it did prove to be a brilliant little car: Light, fuel efficient and even practical with two trunks and a removable roof panel. The mid-engine design contributed to perfectly balanced handling. The 914-6 found success in motorsports, and could have done more had it not come dangerously close to outperforming the 911. In spite of high prices and the stigma of being considered a rebadged VW when new, the 914 sold well between 1969 and 1976. Todays enthusiasts have finally recognized the 914 as a true Porsche and an all-time great drivers car.

This 1973 914 1.7 has been kept in remarkably original condition, believed to have been carefully stored for 35 years by a previous owner. It just takes one look to see this is a truly superb 914. The Zambezi Green paint is excellent and the bodywork is straight and absolutely solid. Rubber trim and seals are all intact and supple. Even the typical trouble spots in the trim around the rear window and tail lamps show zero evidence of decay. Opening the rear trunk reveals a correct trunk mat, original jack, and even the insulation pad which is nearly impossible to find in one piece. Even the vulnerable original fog lamps and grilles are in perfect order. The interior trim in fine original condition with no rips tears or cracks. The 1.7L engine runs strong and maintains the original fuel injection system. Correct Michelin tires on original steel wheels give this 914 a pleasing look and accentuate the light and direct handling. This is easily one of the finest original 914s available today.

1967 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible

Lot #108 (Sale Order 8 of 43)

  • Velour Red with Khaki top & Khaki Leatherette interior
  • Complete pan off restoration
  • New Top
  • New Interior
  • New chrome factory style wheels & tires
  • Runs & drives excellent
A little known fact about the Karmann Ghia is that it actually started out as a design exercise by Ghia for Chrysler. In the early 50s, Volkswagen wanted Karmann to build them a sports car based on the VW platform and running gear. Volkswagen was unhappy with the original drawings, so Karmann, who happen to have a good relationship with Ghia, borrowed a design concept from one of their drawings and the Karmann Ghia was born The 1967 Karmann is probably one of the most desirable of the Ghias for the simple fact that is the 1st year for a 12V electrical system and still retains the early style small bumpers and taillights. This lovable little Ghia has been restored to a show finish. The exterior is finished in red with a new tan interior, faux wood grain dash, and tan cloth top. The Ghia rides on new white wall tires and chrome rims. The car has been completely gone through, the engine is fresh and the car presents itself as a nice stock looking car. This particular example is in immaculate condition and truly needs nothing.

1965 Porsche 356 1965 Porsche 356

1965 Porsche 356

Lot #110 (Sale Order 10 of 43)

  • Porsche Certificate Of Authenticity
  • Optional Green Tinted Windshield
  • Optional Conti Tires
  • 8,567 Produced
Following WWII Ferdinand Porsche focused on creating sports cars instead of tanks and conceived the 356 in 1948. By 1950, an improved version of the Porsche 356 being built in Zuffenhausen, Germany had made its way to America. The A series (356A) was the first iteration of the line introducing numerous refinements including a curved windshield rather than a split or bent screen. In latter half of 1959, the B-series (356B) came with the first substantial styling changes in terms of headlight treatment and bumpers and a short-lived notchback coupe body style.

The last revision of the 356 was the 356 C introduced for the 1964 model year. It featured disc brakes all round, as well as an option for the most powerful pushrod engine Porsche had ever produced, the 95 hp (71 kW) SC. 356 total production peaked at 14,151 cars in 1964, the year that its successor, the new 911, was introduced to the US market (it was introduced slightly earlier in Europe). The company continued to sell the 356 C in North America through 1965 as demand for the model remained quite strong in the early days of the heavier and more civilized 911. The last ten 356s (cabriolets) were assembled for the Dutch police force in March 1966 as 1965 models.

  • Amber Metallic with Palisander leatherette interior
  • Automatic
  • 15,000 Original miles
  • All original sheet metal
  • 1 professional repaint
  • Original owner manual with warranty card

The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was first introduced in 1955 as a stylish sports car in the VW line-up. Sharing the Beetles reliable running gear, it was economical to produce and resembled its famous race winning brethren the Porsche 356. VW contracted Ghia of Turin, Italy to design the car while the coachwork was hand built by the renowned German firm of Karmann. In 18 years, nearly half a million were manufactured including convertible models. Over the years, as with most long lived production models, subtle changes were made to update the outward and interior looks and appeal of the little Ghias, as well as running gear improvements. 1973 was the first year for the redesigned bumpers, marker lights and rear taillights. Sadly, the Karmann Ghias last year of production was 1974. This Ghia benefits from a fresh metallic paintjob, new leatherette upholstery and new wide whitewall tires. The car is in excellent condition with books and records; It has been driven only 15000 mile since new and has the optional sportamatic transmission. The Karmann Ghia is easily recognizable in virtually every town in America, and there is a strong appreciation amongst collectors alike.

  • Southwest rust free car
  • Factory Condor Yellow
  • 1600 SC Carbs and Air cleaners
  • 6000 RPM Tachometer
  • Chrome Wheels
1961 was the second year for the cute little Porsche 356 T5 B. They remained identical to the 1960 model with its round front hood and single grill deck lid. This Porsche was previously owned by a Porsche club member and spent much of it life in the southwest. For the most part this is a fairly original car. The exterior has been refinished in its factory Condor Yellow and still retains its original Parchment leather seats. The interior is stock with factory radio and the addition of a 6 grand tach. The engine has been upgraded to Solex carburetors, correct air cleaners and sport exhaust. The front headlight lenses are fluted Euro style and the original spare is still in the trunk. This is a factory stock looking 356 B and runs and drives very well. It is often said by oncoming drivers that the T5 356 Porsche looks like it is smiling when it is driving down the road. 1959 Porsche 356 Convertible D

Lot #113 (Sale Order 13 of 43)

  • Rare Convertible D
  • Outlaw Look
  • Derrington Wood Wheel
  • Runs Excellent
  • Sport muffler

The Porsche Speedster is the most iconic Porsche of all times. Popularized in movies and owned by celebrities like James Dean and Clark Gable. By 1958 speedster sales were slowing down, so the powers to be at Porsche decided to revamp the little car. By changing to a full windscreen, redesigning the convertible top assembly, adding roll-up windows and conventional seats, the character of the little car was transformed to a more practical daily driver. Only 1,330 or so Convertible Ds were made for the 1959 model year, and therefore holds the distinction as being one of the rarer production Porsche 356 models built. This 356 Convertible D has quite an austere stance, sort of Outlaw style. Outlaw referring to a non-factory, non-conforming look or appearance; its an attitude among 356ers. The car has been repainted blue and the deco strips, side spears and bumper guards deleted. Other noticeable modifications include an aftermarket sport exhaust, Talbot style side racing mirror and a Derrington style aftermarket steering wheel. All factory parts included. According to the Kardex, the car was ordered originally in Ruby Red, reclining seats and a short ratio speedster transaxle. The engine may not be original to the car but it runs out fine. There are three versions of the pyramid 3-gauge dash cars, Speedsters, Convertible Ds and Roadsters. Convertible Ds are highly sought after and have tremendous upside.

  • Original Engine
  • Manual 5- Speed Upgraded Transmission
  • 52730 Actual Miles
  • Factory Air Conditioning
  • Electric SunRoof
  • Matching Number Engine

1977 was the 2nd year that the Porsche 930 was available in the USA. Regarded as a Genuine German Super-Auto, only 2,873 left the factory. For the most part the 1977 930 remained unchanged from the previous year and still had the fast and menacing wide body look with the original style Whale Tail and 240 hp 3.0 litre Turbo charged flat 6cyl. However for 1977, Porsche did change the wheels from 15 inch to 16 inch wheels and Pirelli P7 tires. The Silver 930 presented here has had some modest upgrades. Since the original 3 litre was somewhat anemic by todays standards, the original engine was beefed up by adding a large inner cooler and a super tune-up. The interior is nice and stock and has the optional sport seats. This 930 has only been driven 52 thousand miles in its lifetime. Other distinguishing features and upgrades are after-market wider Fuchs style wheels, 84-up style front bumper and lower valance, Euro rear bumper strips, tail lights and headlights, radial ac compressor and finally a 78-up style Coffee Table whale tail making the total package pretty exciting. This 1977 930 Porsche has had all the necessary mods perform to make the Turbo either a great daily driver or a fun track car.

  • Special ordered Pastel Blue with original Black leatherette interior
  • US Spec car
  • 2.0L with 5 speed manual transmission
  • 1 of 742 produced in 1968
  • Upgraded to Fuch alloys

This 1968 911 is a beautiful example of Porsches grand touring sports car. Now in its fourth year of production and racking up checkered wins on the race courses across the globe. For 1968, Porsche 911s lineup remained pretty much unchanged. Although in the US, due to emissions compliance the 911S was substituted with the nearly as powerful 911L, a luxury replacement for the 911S. The engine displacement for 1968 also remained unchanged, still at 2.0 litres and 130 hp on the 911L (Luxury) US only models. This standard 911 Zuffenhausen screamer is presented in Pastel Blue, reminiscent of the famous Gulf Blue race livery colors that dominated the racing circuits across Europe for nearly a decade. It is showroom stock looking; the original chrome steel wheels and caps were replaced with a rare set of factory deep 15×6 Fuchs wheels. The body is straight and the paintwork has a good finish suitable for a daily driver or any local car show activities. The interior is factory stock black leatherette upholstery and has tinted windows. Some other accessories featured on this sporty 911 are, side marker lights and factory optional Hella 128 fog lights. The 2.0 litre horizontally opposed six motor starts and runs fine, this car has that great traditional Flat six Weber carbureted sound that is uniquely Porsche. • Euro Headlights
  • Modified engine
  • Dual tip exhaust

Porsche was not the first company to use a turbocharger on their car, but certainly the most notable. Beginning in the early 1970s the company was quick to adapt turbocharging to its 934 and 935 racing coupes and then apply the technology to the ferocious production 930. This particular example 930 is finished in Guards Red with a nice contrasting black leather interior. This Turbo has most of the factory options including optional sport seats, sunroof, alarm system, limited slip and a Fitipaldi sport leather wrapped steering wheel. The original stock 282 hp 3.3 litre turbo charged flat six has been modified with internal upgrades, larger turbo and twin tipped exhaust. This Turbo was owned by former race car driver and Daytona 24 Hr winner Jochen Rohr. Throughout the later 1970s and into the 1980s, the 930 evolved into an ever-more sophisticated, luxurious, and powerful road car that would be very suitable for club track events or weekend cruising.

The Centro 911 is created by re-engineering the 997-platforms floor to reposition the gauge cluster and steering wheel, shifter, pedals, center stack, center console and parking brake to place the driver front and center in the cockpit, in a carefully executed process that involves over 300 man hours of labor. The conversion includes a mechanism allowing the front seat to slide left to the drivers door for ingress and egress. The interior may be different, but the looks and performance of this 911S remain purely Porsche. Driven 30,450 actual miles, the car is finished in White with a Black interior fitted with a Cobra racing seat, safety harnesses and specially fabricated carbon fiber inserts. Built at an approximate cost of $75,000, not including the donor car, it is loaded with Porsche options and powered by the highly capable water-cooled 3.8L flat-6 engine, which feeds 355 HP through a 6-speed manual gearbox. This one-of-a-kind center-drive 911S coupe, inspired by the center-seated McLaren F1, delivers a driving experience like no other.</p><br />

As always, Porsches focus is on racing. Enter the 911 GT3, the street version of Porsches production-based racing GT3 and RSR cup cars. The GT3 is a real driver enthusiasts car. Designed to be sparse and therefore devoid of comfort items that added unnecessary weight to the car, only adding stiff and aggressive leg and shoulder bolstering, it is perfect for track duty. Tiptronic transmission, air conditioning and a CD radio could be No-Cost options and add-ons as well. What sets this GT3 from other GT3s is that this Porsche was used as the promotional car by Porsche and put on the auto show circuit. This Cobalt blue GT3 is highly optioned and comes with two window stickers, one factory stock window sticker and the other showing the auto show sticker. It also comes with two sets of black leather seats covered in stylish Alcantara trim accented with red stitching. One set are the sport racing seats and the other are the factory luxury power seats. From and appearance and mechanical standpoint, the GT3 sits 1.5 inches lower than a stock 997, and with impressive performance, its 3.6 litre flat 6 nets an easy 415 hp. Just as fast as the GT3 scorches the pavement, huge ceramic brakes stop the car on a dime, while all along melodious exhaust notes emit through the center dual exhaust ports. This GT3 define versatility, it could be used as a daily driver, a collector car or as a competitive track car, you decide!

It seems that Porsche and Volkswagen have always had a close but fraught relationship. While it was Dr. Porsches vision that gave rise to Volkswagen, history has shown the two companies often clashed. Going back to the late 1960s, Porsche and VW were both in need of a sportscar to fill out their lineup. VWs Karmann Ghia was cripplingly expensive to build and was showing its age. In Stuttgart, Porsches 356 was killed off in 1965 but there was no distinct model to take over where it left off. The 912 was a very good car in its own right, but buyers saw it as little more than a poor-mans 911 and sales were weak. Porsche needed a new and distinct car to offer below the 911, but did not have the money to design one from scratch, but VW did.

As such, a Gentlemans agreement was made between the two companies bosses to jointly develop and market a new sports car. The 914, as it would become known, was to be a joint project where expenses and marketing were shared. The plan was for four-cylinder cars to be badged as VWs and sold by their dealers, while six-cylinder cars would be badged and sold by Porsche. Unfortunately, this did not work out as planned as the sudden passing of VWs chief meant a new CEO, Kurt Lotz, was ushered in who had no desire to continue the project or pay for any of Porsches cars. As far as Lotz was concerned, the 914 was a VW and Porsche had to pay if they wanted to be a part of the project. As a result, the price of the car skyrocketed and it hit the market costing nearly as much as a base 911T. But the 914s brilliance saved it from obscurity. In four and six cylinder form, it was a balanced, sublime handling machine. The mid-engine chassis was light weight and returned incredible handling. The 914 was truly a sports car boiled down to its essence.

Long seen as not a real Porsche by some, the 914 has finally begun to receive the recognition it has deserved all along for being a brilliant drivers car. Particularly in rare, 2.0 liter six-cylinder specification, the 914-6 delivers performance that can give a contemporary 911 a proper run for its money. Porsches competitions department developed the 914-6 into a rally and GT-class winner, and if it werent for it showing signs of surpassing the flagship 911, it could have gone on to be an all-time great in motorsport.

1978 Porsche 930 1978 Porsche 930

1978 Porsche 930

Lot #131 (Sale Order 30 of 43)

  • Ground up nut & bolt restoration $80k in receipts
  • Driven only 10 miles since restoration completed
  • Matching numbers
  • One of the best examples anywhere!

The Porsche 911 Turbo, known internally as the 930, was the first totally successful and ultimately the most enduring application of turbocharging to a road-going automobile. The ingenious and always methodical engineers at Porsche had learned about turbocharging through their development of the 917/10 and 917/30 racing cars that dominated the Can-Am series during 1972 and 1973. They then set about applying what they had gleaned from racing to the 911 road car. After a $2 million development cost, the production version of the 930 debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 1974. The 3-liter engine made 260 horsepower, and visually the Turbo could be distinguished by the whale tail rear spoiler, wider wheels and flared wheel arches. Export of the car to the United States didnt start until 1976, but when it did the 930 became one of the most desirable cars on the road. Now fondly remembered and recognized as one of the most important road-going Porsches of all, it is highly collectible.

This 1978 Porsche 930 Coupe is the recipient of a fresh, total nut and bolt restoration that started with an already clean, straight 57,000-mile original example. During the exhaustive restoration, which is documented in receipts totaling $80,000, the engine was completely rebuilt and bored out to 3.3-liters, and the seats were updated to electric ones from a 1979 Porsche. It is finished in a bright yellow that complements the aggressive Turbo bodywork, and has a black leather interior that looks better than new.

With just test miles since it was completed, the restoration is not only exquisite but also very fresh. It could be shown or thoroughly enjoyed, and leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Vintage 930s range widely in quality but this car, totally restored with an incredible attention to detail and without consideration of expense, is one of the very best.

In 1989 Porsche commemorated its heritage by paying tribute to the original and now iconic 356 Speedster with similar versions of its modern day sports car, the 911 series. The common denominator between these models is the chopped down windscreen and sparse interior and trim. However in typical Porsche fashion, the option list became long. Worldwide production of the 964 Speedster was 936 units, of which only 427 of which were allocated to the United States. What make this 15,000 mile speedster so rare is that this was special ordered in Ferrari Fly yellow. Other noted options include Recaro factory optioned hardback sport seats and factory air conditioning, all books, records, keys, limited slip and original window sticker.

1967 Porsche 911 S 1967 Porsche 911 S

1967 Porsche 911 S

Lot #139 (Sale Order 38 of 43)

  • Early 911S
  • Kardex
  • Race prepared
  • Polo Red
  • Rare Marchal Rally lights
This is no car for a novice, warns a Porsche brochure when the new Porsche 911 advertisement was publicized in print. 1966 was the 1st year for a 911S in Europe and 1967 for the USA market. Porsches were notorious for high revs and oversteer and not for the inexperienced driver, yet the Porsche 911 was busy winning races all over Europe and here in the US. As the story goes, this car was an original Euro model that was found years ago in a warehouse in England. The previous owner was a race enthusiast who spent a lot of time and money converting these early 911s to 911 R specifications. The 911 R modifications include: plexiglass ¼ windows, R taillights, minor ¼ panel flares and 15×8 Fuchs windmill rims on the rear. This 911 is in surprisingly original condition with the exception of the necessary racing conversions. According to the Kardex, the car was and is an original Polo red car with black leather interior. This 911 also has the correct early green gauges, 911 S 7 grand tach, aftermarket sport steering, racing seat and roll bar. The engine has Weber carburetors, plexiglass velocity stacks, and red S engine shroud. The front wheels have 15×6 in Fuchs alloys. This car has a menacing stance, runs strong and would be a lethal instrument at the next Porsche club racing event.

1958 was the third year for Porsches production of the successful 356 A series cars. The T2 models as they are referred to internally and by aficionados, were built from 1958 to 1959 and ushered in some subtle changes. The dashboard was slightly redesigned and the ashtray was now and option and located under the dash making room for the optional in dash VDO clock, the Bee Hive taillights were replaced with teardrop style and the front turn signal light escutcheons were changed to a protruding style for safety and US DOT reasons. The 1958 Porsche Cabriolet featured here is finished in gleaming ruby red with a well fitted black canvass soft top. This US spec car has overriders and aftermarket stone guard headlight covers. The most unique and rare option on this cabriolet are the rare Rudge wheels. The interior boasts black leather seats (Beige original as per COA) and dash top, correctly fitting German square weave carpets and an optional factory VDM wood steering wheel, Becker radio. These extras compliment the cockpit with a classy sporty look and ad to the cars value. The engine bay and trunk area are clean and tidy. This car runs and drives as good as it looks and has recently been displayed at the prestigious Festivals of Speed event at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando, Florida. This stunning classic is also accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Porsche Cars of North America.

1964 Porsche 356 C 1964 Porsche 356 C

1964 Porsche 356 C

Lot #118 (Sale Order 43 of 43)

Meet GraCie,

An early matching numbers unrestored 1964 Porsche 356 C which retains its original pans, longitudinals, battery box, and much of its interior. This car remained in the original owners family for 51 years. GraCie or 216464 as she is also known has lived an exciting life while being loved and used as Porsche intended; all the while being meticulously maintained and repaired as needed to preserve this beautiful automobile for over a half century. She started her life in Dec 11, 1963 (per the Certificate of Authenticity) and was delivered to her first owner on March 27, 1964 at Bill Spreen Porsche In Atlanta, GA. Total price including tax, tag, and title was $4,312.66 (per the original invoice which will be included with the car). This price included $312.70 worth of dealer installed options including a Bursch exhaust, which the car wears to this very day. The first owner used 216464 as a daily driver and was a fastidious record keeper (Want to know how much gas was pumped into the tank on July 31, 1964? 9.4 gallons, thats how much). Of course these books will remain with the car. Circa 1970, the original owners son took possession of the car. The son continued to take loving care of the car while enjoying it thoroughly. During the mid-80s the son made minor (and mostly reversible) modifications (as was required during that more lenient era) and started campaigning 216464 in vintage racing events such as the Walter Mitty at Road Atlanta, races at Sebring, and the St. Petersburg Grand Prix all the while it remained street legal. As time passed, GraCie traversed through several stages of life from a brand new pride and joy, daily driver, toy, racer, garage queen, family heirloom, and finally significant asset and investment opportunity, which has now brought her here to you today. Amazingly, 216464 with her rich history remains a very original car looking much as she did in March 1964 in her elegant Slate Gray Paint and Black Leatherette interior. And driving the way a preserved Porsche 356 C should.

The car comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity verifying that all numbers and colors are correct. Original dated coded chrome wheels. Original non-crested hub caps. Original factory owners manual & factory service book. The actual dealer invoice from the original purchase. The original tool bag & jack. Numerous log books and receipts.

Rarely will you find a sports car that has lived such an active and interesting life, yet remains as well preserved as GraCie. This is not your average 356C!
