M1 fixed bail helmet having the 508th winged boot painted insignia. Rigger applied 10 row weave Khaki paratrooper chin straps. Stitching on chin straps is very dense as is typical of WWII chin strap stitching. White painted Westinghouse jump liner with hand painted 82nd and Allied Airborne insignia. Hand painted MP on front. A-frame khaki straps on liner appear to be Inland style. Probably from Westinghouse and acquired from Inland. Also included are 508th history books and 4 copies of the "Devil's Digest". The family had tried to sell this grouping several years ago and it had been offered with other items that would have not pertained to this paratrooper. The 508th did honor guard/MP duty for Eisenhower in Frankfurt. This grouping in our opinion is 100% WWII/Early post war original. That being said please bid on your own expertise and knowledge.
