Period two color Mediterranean finish camo. Extremely rare to see double decal on M40 helmet as you can still make out both decals under the camo finish! Original leather is present and supple. Rear flange appears to be unit marked or named. It is maker/size stamped SE66 with a lot number of 2248*?. The US Vet who brought the helmet back has scratched his initials and service number on the flange. Rare camo finish double decal M40.

Original blue gray exterior finish. Shows period wear. Both decals have been rubbed down and there is a small dent and stress crack just above the eagle decal. Helmet is maker/sized stamped E. F. 66 and the lot number 3783. 8 tongue leather liner with original draw string, shows wear with one tongue missing. Partial chin straps. Good collectible example in solid condition.

Blade shows typical in and out scabbard runner marks. RZM M7/49 maker code for the firm of Friedrich Herder. In original untouched condition.

Shell with original cork finish. Front seam swivel bale with liner snap chin straps. Early jump liner by Westinghouse with OD 7 A-frame straps having the wide cast buckles with OD finish. Cloth chin cup with four hole adjustments. Liner has red Sgt stripes on front and soldier's partial serial number of G-9586. There is approximate 1 1/4 inch crack at rear of liner. In extremely fine untouched collectible condition.

Jacket is in excellent collectible condition with no number markings however, the wool pants that came with this grouping are marked CK-31086 and are size 33-33 with 1943 dated belt. Enlisted man's wool shirt with khaki tie. Soft wool sweater with American Red Cross tag.

Hand written citation from the Belgium Minister of Defense awarding the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment the Order of the Day of the Belgian Army and citing the regiment twice and authorizing the wearing of the Fourragere. With the original signature Leon Mundeleer who was the National Defense Minster for Belgium from Feb. 12, 1945 to Jan. 9, 1946. The document has faded and has been archive framed with matte. A very rare award document to a highly decorated US parachute regiment. Measures outside frame to outside frame 22 1/2 inches by 24 inches.

Bell has 800 silver content stamping. Moving clapper. Engraved on one side is San Michele Bell and on the other Capri 1944. "The Lucky Little Bell of San Michele" were made by monks of the Isle of Capri during 1943-44 and military servicemen purchased these while visiting Capri for much needed R&R. Pilots and crewmen wore these bells as their favorite good luck charm on their lapel or as a zipper pull. It is probable that this charm flew over WW2 combat and came back with the crew member safe and sound. Fantastic piece of history!

Named to SSgt Giles Bissel. On Sept 4 1945 B-29 #44-61786 assigned to the 462nd Bomb Group. Pilot Major Bernays K. Thurston flew into the ocean after taking off at night and possibly blinded by the lights at the end of the runway. As a result of this accident no more B-29s were permitted to take off at night. The plane was in route the Mather Field CA for approximately 5 day TDY and for the purpose of transporting organizational supplies. Also on board were 8 AAF crewmen who were "going home". Among these was SSGT Giles Bissel.

WW2 US Colonel's Theater Make Ike Jacket 629th Tank Destroyer Bn. - Bullion Insignia

Eight wheel tank destroyer patch on left shoulder. Third Army patch on right shoulder. Bullion embroidered rank and collar insignia. Matching pin back DI's for the 629th TD Bn. Each are Sterling hallmarked by A.H. Dondero. 4 place ribbon bar - Purple Heart, Bronze Star, ETO with silver battle star. Outer shell is in excellent condition. Sateen lining with Frankfurt - Maine tailor tag. The 629th landed on Omaha Beach on July 2, 1944. Fought in the Falaise Pocket also participated in Hurtgen Forest and Siegfried Line. Crossed the Remagen bridgehead and participated in operations against the Ruhr Pocket. At one time this Bn. was attached to the 82nd AB division.

DI's with NS Mayer maker mark. US and TD collar disks. Two place English made ribbon bar. ETO ribbon with one silver and three bronze battle stars. Sterling Marksman badge with carbine and TD 3-inch qualification bars. Size tag has faded. Jacket in excellent condition. The 893rd TD Bn. landed on Omaha Beach and fought in the battle of Hurtgen Forest and also participated in the offensive and capture of the Roer River dams. Crossed the Rhine at Remagen and fought against the Ruhr Pocket.
