Bronco Buster, by Larry Pirnie. Signed fine art print.

Lot #28 (Sale Order 29 of 72)

11 out of 20; "Bronco Buster" by Larry Pirnie (1940 -). Was created in late 1992. "Every print in the addition of 20 is unique in the acrylic line I sketched on top layer of each print. This is considered a fine art print and not a reproduction print for that reason. This image was silkscreened in flat layers of color first and then hand painted. We sold these to galleries for $500 unframed and the price they asked was double that and even more if the client asked them to frame it." At the early age of six in his home state of Iowa, Pirnie was drawing pictures inspired by western comics, western movies, and art of the 1930s -1950s. In 1963 this culminated into a fine art degree from the Pratt Institute in New York City. Pirnie now resides and paints in Montana. (Authenticated by artist Larry Pirnie by email).

Gaucho Argentino Production paper print, by F. Molino Campos

Lot #39 (Sale Order 44 of 72)

Gaucho Argentino Production paper print. Framed and matted. 32" x 38". Florencio Molina Campos was born in Buenos Aires on August 21, 1891. His primary subject matter was the traditional gaucho culture of the Pampas - the cowboy and cattle country of Argentina. Often humorous and frequently poignant, Campos's iconic images were first exhibited in 1926 to great critical and popular acclaim. In 1930, Campos contracted with the firm Fabrica Argentina de Alpargatas to produce paintings for their annual calendars. The relationship with Alpargatas extended through 1945, making the artist a household name throughout his native country. Campos made his initial visit to the United States in 1937. Favorable coverage of Campos appeared in “Life,” “Esquire,” “Time,” and other important publications, introducing his work to U.S. audiences. His work enjoyed great success in this country and was collected by such notables as Dwight D. Eisenhower, Nelson Rockefeller, Will Rogers, Yehudi Menuhin, and Walt Disney.

Glass Mask, by Ted Lee Emrick Glass Mask, by Ted Lee Emrick

Glass Mask, by Ted Lee Emrick

Lot #60 (Sale Order 69 of 72)

Glass mask with iron base. Numbered 3 of 3. Signature is enscribed on the inside of the mask lower left hand corner. Mask measures 28 1/2" x 18". The iron base measures 12" x 12". Ted Lee Emerick Emrick’s appreciation and respect of nature, particularly the ocean, stems from growing up a water baby in Southern California. Mindful of light, motion, time, and life, he creates a powerful artistic style that captivates the viewer. One of his projects drew inspiration and insight from a cave paintings expedition that resulted in a series of sculptures depicting how we may be seen thousands of years from now. Emrick finessed a fine balance between current and primitive visual storytelling. Staying true to his beachside upbringing, Emrick resides in Los Osos, California, where he runs a large art studio that occasionally hosts other famous artists. His multi-media background has opened the doors—including his own handmade glass doors—to many contemporary projects and numerous challenges. Since graduating from San Francisco Art Institute, Emrick’s work has been highly sought after not only by famous collectors, but also galleries throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, including Third Dimension Gallery (Kona, HI), Phillips Gallery (San Jose, CA), Cody Gallery (Los Olivos, CA), The Gallery at Ventana (Big Sur and Carmel, CA), and Cambria Glassworks (Cambria, CA).
