***Rattler Highlight*** PCGS 'Rattler' 1883-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms63, Select Unc MS BU (fc) Lot #112 (Sale Order 119 of 364) ***Rattler Highlight*** PCGS 'Rattler' 1883-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms63. This coin is part of a huge 40 coin Rattler collection consigned to us. The collection was all submitted years ago by the collector themselves and have remained in storage since that time. The PCGS Rattler holders are so desireable because they were all graded in PCGS's innaugural year and in that year, even PCGS themselves today admit, were largely undergraded, by 1-2 points and PL & DMPL, held back where it would be assigned today. You rarely find rattlers anymore, because many have been sent in for regrading, and the ones you do come across have been in the market for years and are many times examples that cannot get an upgrade. This grouping is not like those. Never before sold into the secondary market, they are fresh and all well undergaded. Most of the coins in this group would get a 2 point upgrade. We will be offering these 40 over the next few weels. Tonight we have 9 of the 40 up. This coin is graded ms63, but clearly looks like a gem ms65 coin. Incredibly clean, brilliant flashy luster, superior eye appeal. Here are the trends for regular, non rattler examples: ms63=$70; ms64=$90, ms65=$195. Estimated Value $125.

1918 Illinois Centennial Commemorative Grades Unc details Lot #116 (Sale Order 123 of 364) 1918 Illinois Centennial Commemorative Grades Unc details. Great Eye appeal, pretty original toning and great luster, to the naked eye, but under magnification it has been brushed. It is interesting to note that the portrait of Lincoln on the Obverse shows him without a beard as he appeared when he was in Illinois. The Obverse was designed by George Morgan and the reverse one of John Sinniock's first designs. George Morgan was the Chief Engraver at the time of the US mint and Sinnock would be his successor, so two US Mint Directors designed this beautiful Commemorative. Points to check for wear include Lincoln’s cheekbone, jaw, eyebrow and the hair above his ear. On the reverse, examine the eagle’s breast feathers and the grass beneath its left claw.

***Rattler Highlight*** PCGS 'Rattler' 1881-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms63 DMPL, Select Unc (fc) Lot #148 (Sale Order 158 of 364) ***Rattler Highlight*** PCGS 'Rattler' 1881-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms63 DMPL. We will be offering these 40 over the next few weeks. Tonight we have 9 of the 40 up. This coin is graded ms63 DMPL, but clearly looks like a gem ms65 DMPL coin. A great looking example. All white. Deep mirrored fields and frosted devices. Here are the trends for a non rattler examples: ms63 DMPL=$195; ms64 DMPL=$400, ms65 DMPL=$900. Estimated Value $600.

***Auction Highlight 1916-d Mercury Dime 10c Key Date (fc) Lot #149 (Sale Order 160 of 364) ***Auction Highlight 1916-d Mercury Dime 10c. Key Date. Incredibly Scarce Date. According to David Hall from PCGS, ‘The 1916-D Mercury dime is one of the most heralded key dates of 20th century numismatics. If you collected coins in the 1950s or 1960s, you dreamed of finding a 1916-D dime...or a 1909-S VDB or 1914-D Lincoln cent, or 1932-D or 1932-S quarter...in circualtion. And I certainly did have that dream as a young pre-teen coin collector. The 1916-D is rare in all grades. Walter Breen has written that mint production of dimes in Denver in 1916 was stopped so that personnel could devote full time to making quarters. The original mintage of 264,000 for the 1916-D is by far the lowest of the Mercury dime series. For comparision, the mintage of the 1916 was 22,180,080 and the mintage for the 1916-S was 10,450,000. The 1916-D is an extremely high demand coin in all grades and even very low grade examples sell for in excess of $1,000.'

Incredibly scarce coin. To Quote from PCGS "The 1942-D over Horizontal D Jefferson Nickel is a result of a Mint employee punching the mint mark in the wrong position on the working die. Up until late in 1989 the Mint employee would hand punch the mint mark on to the working die and many times the mint mark would accidentally be struck the wrong way. This variety is relatively strong and visible with the naked eye. It is also somewhat popular with Jefferson Nickel collectors. It is considered quite scarce with possibly less than a few hundred examples known. RARE***

***Rattler Highlight*** PCGS 'Rattler' 1885-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms63 DMPL, Select Unc (fc) Lot #210 (Sale Order 227 of 364) ***Rattler Highlight*** PCGS 'Rattler' 1885-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms63 DMPL. We will be offering these 40 over the next few weeks. Tonight we have 9 of the 40 up. This coin is graded ms63 DMPL, but looks like a ms64 DMPL coin. Super eye appeal. All white. Deep mirrored fields and frosted devices. Here are the trends for a non rattler example: ms63 DMPL=$260; ms64 DMPL=$520. Estimated Value $400.

***Auction Highlight*** 1922 plain Lincoln 1c strong reverse Graded XF Extra Fine Much better date Lot #218 (Sale Order 237 of 364) ***Auction Highlight*** 1922 plain Lincoln Cent 1c strong reverse. Graded XF Extra Fine. Much better date. Often called the 1922 no 'D'. Superior Eye Appeal. To Quote PCGS, ‘The 1922 No D Lincoln cent is the only circulation strike coin, in the entire Lincoln cent series which lacks its intended mint mark. In 1922, the Denver Mint was the only Mint which produced cents for that year. Consequently, all 1922 cents should bare the D mint mark. However, since the Denver Mint was under extreme pressure to produce cents for that year, there was a lot of sloppiness in the production process. The 1922 No D is believed to exist due to a pair of dies clashing with one another without a coin being in between the two dies. As a result, it is believed that a mint employee obtained an old obverse die and filed it down in order to improve its appearance. But instead, the mint employee ended up filing the D mint mark too much, and in return, created the 1922 No D Lincoln cents. The 1922 No D Lincoln cent has always been recognized as a major variety within the Lincoln cent series. Due to its popularity this coin has always commanded a hefty premium. The 1922 No D Strong Reverse Lincoln cent is very challenging to aquire due to its high value in any grade.’ A fabulous example of this very rare variety. As a benchmark in F12 it trends $850. A Corey's pick, bid to win, don't let it get away coin.

A dynamite example of the 1926-s. Out of an original mintage of over 4.5 million coins struck, PCGS estimates only 425 remain in all grades. A lustrous example with superior eye appeal. A Corey's pick, bid to win, don't let it get away coin.

***Auction Highlight*** PCGS 'Rattler' 1882-s Morgan $1 Graded ms64, Choice Unc, Nicest of All (fc) Lot #250 (Sale Order 271 of 364) ***Rattler Highlight*** PCGS 'Rattler' 1882-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms64, Choice Unc. We will be offering these 40 over the next few weeks. Tonight we have 9 of the 40 up. This coin is graded ms64, but looks Gem++ ms67!. The Nicest of All. Incredibly Clean Fields and cheek, Wonderful Eye Appeal, Superior Luster. Also, there is significant doubling in the date. Here are the trends for regular, non rattler examples: ms64=$90; ms65=$185; ms66=$330, ms67=$1000. A corey's pick, bid to win coin. Estimated Value $700.

1872 Indian Cent 1c grades VF/XF very tough early indian (fc) Lot #259 (Sale Order 281 of 364) 1872 Indian Cent 1c grades VF/XF. Very tough early indian. 90% Liberty, Full top band, partial lower band, 1 diamond. Per PCGS "The 1872 Indian Cent has one of the lowest mintages in the series. It is very similar to the 1871, even though the 1871 has a lower mintage the 1872 seems to carry a higher premium in most grades. A semi key date to the indian Cent series with approximately 5,000 coins in existence, in all grades combined. Making a very tough issue."
