26"l. Fabulous Victorian Musical Handwind Scene "Children at Play in the Nursery". $4500/6500

Arranged upon a lavishly decorated platform with mirrored and curtain back, cutwork wooden side, brass butterfly appliques, are scenes from a Victorian children's nursery including children at the tea table, playing with dolls, riding a rocking horse, and dog playing with white fur dog. When wound, the dolls perform various activities: rocking horse moves back and forth, dog's ball spins about when prompted, tea is served, and the baby is rocked. Music plays. Generally excellent, some light surface dusting, two mirrors have cracks, mechanism and music function well. Germany, attributed to Zinner and Sohne, circa 1890, rare grand luxury model.

Generally excellent. Kestner, circa 1900, the doll is presented in antique canvas-covered doll trunk with two lift-out trays with lace-edged muslin lining, along with costumes and undergarments. Hidden at the bottom of the trunk is a music box (key included) which plays a dainty tune when wound.
