Colt Single Action Army made in 1883. The Colt Archive letter confirms this Colt SAA, serial number 79128, left the factory in its current configuration of .44/40, blue finish with barrel length and stocks not listed, shipped to Hartley & Graham, 1883. The 7 1/2" barrel and wood stocks were standard for the period and therefore not listed in the Colt shipping records. This is a nice, all original old Colt with matching visible serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the last four digits properly stamped on the cylinder. The action is strong and tight. The bore is better than expected with very strong rifling and only minor roughness. The caliber is properly marked .44 CF on the left front trigger guard bow, however the etched panel has been lost to time and wear. The barrel address, patent dates and serial numbers are well stamped and easily readable. There are faint traces of blue in protected areas. A good old "Cowboy" gun and nice collectible old Colt.

U.S. marked Colt Cavalry, issued in 1874. This is a Colt Single Action Army in the standard Cavalry configuration of .45 caliber with 7 1/2" barrel, blue finish, and wood stocks. The serial number 12482 matches in all visible areas including the frame, trigger guard, back strap and with the last four digits on the cylinder. The tiny "C" inspector marks visible on the trigger guard, back strap and cylinder indicated inspection by A.P. Casey. All markings are strong and clear with the barrel showing a later style address and caliber marking intended for civilian use. The action is strong and tight, the bore is very good. The gun retains nearly all of its old professionally restored finish. The grips fit very well, however, no cartouche is present.

Texas shipped Colt Single Action Army. Confirmed by the Colt Archive letter, this Colt #204411 is a .45 caliber, 4 3/4" barrel, blue gun with stocks not listed which is an indication that it left the factory with standard rubber stocks. The hard rubber stocks fit it well and may be original to the gun. It was shipped in 1901 to the Bering Cortes Hardware Company in Houston, Texas. The action is tight and functions correctly. The bore is frosted with strong lands and grooves. There is a generous amount of original blue on the barrel, cylinder and ejector housing. The frame has turned to a gray patina. Texas shipped guns are highly sought after by Colt collectors across the nation. (MOD)

U.S. marked Colt Single Action Army Artillery Model. Originally an early DFC inspected Cavalry mode

U.S. marked Colt Single Action Army Artillery Model. Originally an early DFC inspected Cavalry model issued in 1882, this Colt was returned to the factory where it was disassembled along with many other original Cavalry Colts. All parts were inspected for suitability of reuse. Barrels were shortened to 5 1/2" and then parts were reassembled to form complete guns without regard to matching of serial numbers. These newly assembled guns were issued to artillery units in 1901. The serial number on the frame is 84291 and was inspected by David F. Clark. The trigger guard is #5944 with a tiny "A" marked below it indicating inspection by Orville W. Ainsworth who also inspected and marked the backstrap which is #311. Also featuring an Ainsworth inspectors mark is the cylinder which bears a four digit number 3274. This scarcely seen early cylinder does not have the approaches cut before the bolt notches and is the earliest style cylinder from the first few thousand production. The one piece wood grips are under sized and are likely later replacements. They do bear the proper inspector cartouches from 1901 when the revolver was reissued to the troops. The action is tight and functions properly. The bore is excellent as are the barrel address and patent dates. The barrel and cylinder retain most of their restored bluing with the balance of the gun being a mixture of blue and patina. Slight traces of case colors are found on the frame with the rest a dark patina

Colt Single Action Army made in 1906. Very nice Colt SAA in caliber .32 WCF which is a favorite with many people that like shooting these fine old revolvers. This Colt is serial number 287809 that matches in all visible locations of frame, trigger guard and back strap. The action is flawless and the bore is very nice. The barrel, cylinder and ejector tube retain a high percentage of thinning blue. The straps have generous traces of blue mixed with a pleasing patina. The frame has mostly silvered with some faded case colors visible. A call to the Colt Archive Department might reveal additional beneficial information. (MOD)

Original Bronze Sculpture by noted Texas artist Covelle Jones, (1936- Bremond, Texas). Sculpture is titled "The Point Maker", #12 of 25, dated 1983, 22" long x 15" tall, incredible detail. The subject is of older Indian brave teaching the art of making arrowheads. Covelle has many honors, including from 1984/1985 the State of Texas Legislature named him the Official Texas State Artist of the Year. Colt U.S. Cavalry, Ainsworth inspected. Colt serial number 12622 is a 7 1/2" barrel, .45 caliber, blue gun with case color frame and wood grips. The serial number matches in all visible areas including the frame, trigger guard, back strap and with the last four digits on the cylinder. The tiny "A" inspector marks visible on the trigger guard, back strap and cylinder indicated inspection by Orville W. Ainsworth. All markings are strong and clear with the barrel showing an early style italics address. The action is strong and tight and the bore is very good. The gun retains nearly all of its old professionally restored finish. The grips are slightly undersized.

The serial number 18832 matches in all visible areas including the frame, trigger guard, back strap and with the last four digits on the cylinder. The tiny "C" inspector marks are visible on the trigger guard, back strap and cylinder indicated inspection by A.P. Casey. All markings are strong and clear with the barrel showing an early style italics address. The action is strong and tight and the bore is very good. The gun retains nearly all of its old, professionally restored finish. The grips fit very well, however no cartouche is present.

Colt Single Action Army with ivory grips. This Colt is a .44 caliber, 7 1/2" gun with nicely figured ivory stocks. The serial number 54912 matches in all visible locations including frame, trigger guard, back strap and has the last four digits on the cylinder. The barrel address is light but mostly visible. The patent dates are clear as is the .44 CF on the left front trigger guard bow. The action is loose and will not hold on the safety notch or half cock. The cylinder does not advance fully at full cock position of the hammer. These mechanical issues are easily repaired. The bore has strong rifling with some roughness. There is no finish present on the metal surfaces although the metal is smooth and clean. It appears that a lanyard ring was removed and the hole repaired sometime in the past. The ivory grips show the mellow color of 100+ years with some nice age checking in the butt.

Colorado shipped, antique Colt Single Action Army Revolver. Very high condition Colt that was shipped in 1892 to H.M. Bostwick Sporting Goods in Denver, Colorado. The Colt Archive letter confirms serial number 143234 as a .45 caliber, 5 1/2" barrel, with blue finish and stocks not listed. The hard rubber grips fit perfectly and are most likely original to the gun. The action functions flawlessly and the bore is excellent. The gun shows a very high percentage of original factory blue finish. There are strong case colors showing on the frame and hammer. The frame screws still retain most of the original fire blue. This is a very collectable, high condition, western shipped Colt SAA that would be welcome in any collection.

Historical 8-point star Badge that once belonged to early Austin, TX. Sheriff Robert Emmitt White who was Sheriff, Travis County 1888-1900, Mayor, City of Austin 1901-1905, Travis County Judge 1909-1913. R.E. "Emmitt" White was born in Tennessee in 1852 and came to Austin in 1871. He was involved with the survey of Travis County before running for elected office. Mr. White fathered six children, four of which also became lawmen. Tom, Dudley, and James C. "Doc" White became Texas Rangers. James was killed in 1981 while attempting to arrest two army deserters. Tom was an FBI agent and later became warden of Leavenworth Prison, and was stabbed and critically wounded during an inmate riot. "Doc" White served as a Ranger and also an FBI agent. He was involved in the shootout with the "MA" Barker Gang and the capture of "Machine Gun Kelly". Coley White was a long time Austin PD Officer and the Deputy of Travis County. This badge is unusual for a Texas lawman, not only for its shape, an 8 point star, (most are either a circled star or a five point star), but also its wording, "Sheriff Austin, Texas." the significance of the number "30" is unknown. Badge will be accompanied by two documented early large photographs. One photo shows Sheriff White mounted on horseback far right, with four other lawmen. The other photo shows him far left accompanied by 12 other lawmen. According to note on back, circa 1899. Extremely rare to find documented badges and photographs of early Texas Lawmen. ATTENTION COLLECTORS OF COLT SINGLE ACTION REVOLVERS! Desirable Territory of Arizona shipped Colt Single Action Army. Shipped to Copper Queen Consolidated Mining Co., Bisbee, Territory of Arizona. The Colt Archive letter verifies this Colt, #240531 as a .38/40, 5 1/2" barrel with blue finish and stocks not listed which is an indication that it left the factory with standard rubber stocks. The existing rubber stocks fit it very well and are likely original to the gun. This Colt was shipped in 1903 to the Territory before Arizona joined the Union and became a state. The .38 WCF caliber designation is marked on the side of the barrel. It is in good condition with all markings clear and readable. The barrel address is partly obscured by minor pitting. The action functions flawlessly and the bore is in very good condition. Overall this is a nice, all original Colt with a great shipping destination. (MOD)

Blade has some sharpening marks, spotting and light pits. File work across top of blade and spine. Two piece marine ivory grip scales secured by 3 German silver pins. German silver cross guard, 2 7/8" long. Grip has some age cracks but appears stable. Very rare and interesting form fitted nickel silver sheath that fits knife perfectly. Historical Remington, Model 1858, Single Action Revolver that once was the property of J.B. Omohundro, "TEXAS JACK". 44 cal., SN 625564. Revolver has notarized documentation signed by family member Bland B. Omohundro and a copy of the family's lineage. Letter explains how the revolver had been handed down through family & why the trigger was removed. J.B. Omohundro also known as "Texas Jack", was a plainsman. He served in the Civil War as Cavalry Commander under Jeb Stuart in the Confederate Army. Jack drifted westward and was one of the original Texas Cowboys. Texas Jack befriended many of the Wild West characters including Buffalo Bill, Bill Hickok, Ned Buntline & many others. A monument as a tribute to Texas Jack was erected by William F. Cody at the cemetery in Leadville, Colorado 28 years after Jack's death. Revolver is also accompanied by a framed, double page front cover of the Antique Week (August 2010) where it features this exact revolver.

Engraved Colt Single Action Revolver shipped to Fort Worth. This is a very nice example of a Wolf & Klar engraved Colt SAA. It comes with a Colt Archive letter confirming the features of #343301 as a .38/40, 5 1/2" barrel gun with nickel finish and stocks not listed which is an indication that it left the factory with standard rubber stocks. This nice old Colt retains most of its original factory applied nickel finish and the easily recognized Wolf & Klar style engraving. The .38 WCF caliber marking on the side of the barrel, barrel address and patent dates are all clear, well stamped and easily readable. The serial numbers match on the frame , back strap and trigger guard. The action functions perfectly and the bore is near mint. Many of these Wolf & Klar engraved guns were bought by cowboys that just got paid for driving cattle into the Fort Worth Stockyards. Wolf & Klar shipped and engraved Colts are highly prized by collectors. (MOD)

Historical Colt Single Action Army Revolver made in 1883. This nice old Colt is all original and pure with a great patina and original one piece wood grips that retain a high percentage of their original varnish. The .44 CF marking appears weak on the left front trigger guard bow and the acid etched panel is partially visible on the left side of the barrel. The patent dates and barrel address are clear and fully readable. The visible serial number 87323 match on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the last two digits readable on cylinder. The 8 is lightly stamped. The trigger spring is light although the action functions well. The bore is clean with strong rifling and minor roughness. The gun comes with its period correct original slim Jim style, carved Holster. The Holster is tattered and missing the stitching. It has a wonderful old original look. The gun is accompanied by a three-ring binder of historical documents that show this Colt belonged to John Middleton who was a member of the Belle Starr gang. Included in the binder are documents showing the chain of custody from the original owner, his brother and others up to 2001, including old Middleton family photos. Rare Dance & Brothers., Navy Revolver, SN 20 and triple diamond markings, Serial Number can be found in the following places, grips, frame, hammer and trigger guard, .36 caliber, six shot with octagon barrel, one piece grips, brass trigger guard and iron back strap. Revolver has dark aged finish, mechanically sound with weak trigger spring as expected. J.H. Dance and Brothers Firm commenced the manufacturing in 1862. The need of small arms being so great, the Governor of Texas granted exemption for the company's work force from military service. The factory was in Columbia, Texas. The Dance Brothers made Revolvers in .36 & .44 caliber. Overall fair condition. This historic revolver will be accompanied by two signed letters by Gary Wiggins, author of the book "Dance & Brothers Texas Gunmakers of the Confederacy", stating he has examined this exact revolver and in his opinion "this revolver is a Dance/Erichson type, .36 caliber Navy Revolver and represents one of the rarest types of Texas made pistols." Also accompanying this Revolver is a letter from Mrs. L.J. McNeill concerning this revolver.

These relics include: Back Strap with serial number 6 or 9 for a .36 caliber; Barrel for a .36 caliber; Five unfinished Base Pins for a .44 caliber; One unfinished Cylinder for a .44 caliber; Unfinished Main Spring for a .44 caliber; Unfinished Hammer for a .44 caliber; and a Trigger Guard for a Rigdon & Ansley .36 Navy caliber, serial number 1943; A few left over Musket parts from the repair and conversion of Muskets at the plant; A few pieces of bar stock used to manufacture both . 44 & .36 caliber revolvers; Iron rings & buckles. All these parts were dug in Texas with the exception of the trigger guard which was dug at Spring Hill, Tenn., from the Battle of Franklin. Documented and rare Fighting Knife known as "THE TEXAS TOOTHPICK", once belonging to Cpl. John Brown, Company C, 3rd Regiment, Arizona Brigade also known as Phillips Regiment. 24.5" overall length with 19 7/8" double edged blade. Sheath has approximately 5/8" portion missing at tip. Scabbard Frog is embossed with "J Brown/2/Tex". The number 2 may represent a prewar militia unit. The regiment was organized in early spring of 1862 to join Sibley in New Mexico and Arizona but appears to have been organized too late to be of any service there. John Brown enlisted on June 15, 1862 in Houston, Texas. The regiment served west of the Mississippi River throughout its career. They participated in more than 20 engagements including the Red River Campaign, Sabine Crossroads, Pleasant Hills, etc. A copied list of engagements and map showing the location of each is included. The regiment officially surrendered on June 2, 1865. Like most Confederate Trans-Mississippi units however, it is apparent that the regiment disbanded prior to that date. Archive records of enlistment and John Brown's original Amnesty Oath of Allegiance to the United States, dated July 5, 1865 are also included.

Fayetteville, N.C. altered many captured Flintlock U.S. Pistols and Long Arms, made Model 1855, type rifles from parts captured at U.S. Arsenals at Harpers Ferry and Fayetteville, 1862-1865. .58 caliber muzzle loader, 33" barrel secured by two barrel bands with tang of butt plate marked "CSA". Very good condition with folk art style carved initials in stock, typical of civil war use. Lock is marked "Fayetteville 1863". Last production, no bayonet lug. Rear sight not original, replaced nipple. Another rare Confederate long arm.

Texas marked Remington, New Model, SAA Revolver, SN 80513, 44 cal., 8" barrel with 5-point star carved around screw escutcheon on left grip scale, and the word "TEXAS" carved below star. The right grip scale has a skull and crossbones faintly carved below the escutcheon and four "kill" notches accompanied by four X's carved into a banner to the left of these notches. The Springfield Research Data Base has not located SN 80513 in the National Archives. The closest Remington New Model Army serial number they could locate is SN 80444, which was issued to Company C, 2nd Texas Volunteer Cavalry.

Marked Rogers & Spencer, Utica, N.Y. on top strap above the cylinder with government inspector markings on left grip "RPB". Many of these were on contract to the U.S. Government and bear the inspector marks as this one does on the grips and other various parts. Retains much of the original blue with most finish loss on cylinder and left side of frame. Revolver will be sold in vintage walnut box with bullet mold and large brass fluted Powder Flask.

Very rare Officers Model, Cap & Ball Percussion Revolver made by The Imperial Machine Works at Innsbruck, Austria. 44 cal., 5 1/2" half round/half octagon barrel, six shot cylinder, SN 473, one piece walnut grips, sold in original wooden, leather covered fitted case that has small portions of leather remaining. Case contains a nipple wrench, with spare nipples, brass cleaning rod, unique brass powder flask, brass bullet box full of bullets, cap box complete with caps and unique bullet mold. This Revolver retains near all its original fire blue finish on case hardened frame and cylinder, grips are excellent in their original finish. According to american-firearms.com, two of these revolvers have been found. One is in the Czech National Museum, Prague bearing the SN 760. The second one can be found in the Slovakian National Museum, Bratislava with SN 505. Very unique find from the Hardesty Museum.

Historical inscribed Colt, First Model Richards Conversion. This Colt was converted from 1860 Army to use .44 center fire cartridges by Colt in 1871-1872. The serial number 198430 matches on the 8" barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap with the last four digits of the number on the cylinder. The action is tight and functions properly, the one piece walnut grips fit properly and are likely original to the gun. The barrel address is strong and clear. The left rear flat of the trigger guard is marked ".44 CAL". Much of the cylinder scene is still visible. There is an inscription on the back strap that reads "John L. Bullis" and an inscription on the butt that reads "Fort Clark". Lieutenant John Lapham Bullis, a Quaker from New York State, was granted command of the Seminole Negro Indian Scouts out of Fort Clark, Brackettville, Texas in 1873. A career military man, he had first enlisted with the 126th New York Voluntary Infantry in 1862 just as the Civil War was ramping up. Accompanying this gun is a document printed from the National Park Service that provides more information about Lt. John L. Bullis and the Seminole Scouts.

Untitled, subject matter is old abandoned stage coach. Young was born in the 20s in Dallas, Texas, graduated from North Texas State University. At one time he taught art at Colorado State Prison. Cecil R. Young has won many, many awards such as Nominee to National Benedictine Show, Honorable Mention on the Brice Award, 10 times invited and taken part in the National Show at Salida, National Show at Colorado Springs, open invitation (limited to invitation only), and selected as Judge in over 100 shows. Mr. Young has his paintings in some of the finest collections such as; The DuPont's, Johnny Carson, Dr. Gangle, Edward G. Robinson, Lee Marvin, James Garner, Vincent Price, Col. and Mrs. Faulkner, Army, Col. Robertson, U.S. Army, Smithsonian Institute and many others.
