It is believed that these medals were awarded for high achievement in efforts to organize the rally and were awarded in bronze, silver (plated) and gold (plated). In a decree of 1936 a badge of similar design was allowed to be worn as an honor badge of any NSDAP member that attended this rally. The medal measures 35 mm wide by 80 mm high and features a central design of a helmet with eagle on top of helmet and wreathed swastika on front of helmet. Upper portion of medal features city skyline and text "Nurnberg" . Surrounding helmet is text "1914 1919 NSDAP" and below "Partei-tag 1929". At bottom on reverse of medal is medal makers mark "F. Hoffstatter Bonn". Medal is housed in fitted maroon leather case with impressed design of eagle and swastika on front and text "Reichsparteitag Nurnberg 1929". Case exhibits some rubs and some slight water damage to bottom of case. Medal in excellent condition.

Birthday Portfolio for Franz von Epp-German Colonial Society Lot #105 (Sale Order 105 of 302) Birthday proclamation for the 70th birthday of Franz Ritter von Epp (1868-1947), leader of the Reichskolonialbund (RKB) from 1933 and 1943. Epp was a German general and politician who during WWI served in Africa. After World War I, Epp founded a Freikorps unit, was elected to the Reichstag for the Nazi Party after leaving the Bavarian People's Party in 1928, holding this position until 1945. He served as the Nazi Party's head of its Military-Political Office from 1928 to 1945, and later as well as the leader of the German Colonial Society, an organization devoted to regaining Germany's lost colonies. Epp died as a prisoner awaiting trial at Nuremburg in 1947. This hand calligraphed 3 page vellum document was presented to Epp on his 70th birthday in commemoration of his service to the German Colonial Society and is dated 1938 with all three pages featuring pen and ink artwork. Document is housed in blue dyed leather portfolio measuring 13.5" x 9.5" featuring applied silver coats of arms on front cover. Cover of folio exhibits some minor scraps/scuffs.

Winter hid many items from the apartment at the end of World War II to prevent Hitler's items falling into the hands of looters. As commander if the submarine USS Kingfish in 1943 he was awarded the Navy Cross for actions on January 3 and 7th with the official citation reading "The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Cross to Commander Herbert Lollis Jukes, United States Navy, for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession as Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. KINGFISH (SS-234), in action on 3 and 7 January, during the SIXTH War Patrol of that submarine in enemy Japanese-controlled waters of the Southwest Pacific Area. In a series of tenacious, daring attacks, often in hazardous shoal waters, Commander Jukes skillfully launched his devastating torpedoes against the enemy's vital life lines of supply and succeeded in sinking or extensively damaging five valuable ships, for a total of nearly 37,000 tons. Constantly aggressive and fearless in the face of severe countermeasures, Commander Jukes accomplished the destruction of critical enemy shipping and supplies, thus contributing directly to our successful prosecution of the war. His inspiring conduct and the courageous performance of duty of his officers and men were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service" Jukes is buried in Arlington National Cemetary.

Document and Photograph Grouping of Luftwaffe Pilot Anton Horwick-Ace and Knight's Cross Winner Lot #220 (Sale Order 220 of 302) Large and extensive document and photograph grouping related to Anton Horwick of the Luftwaffe. Horwick, born in 1912 served with the Condor Legion in Spain and then as a pilot in a nightfighter unit piloting Ju88 G6 aircraft claiming 27 aerial victories and earning the Knight's Cross on August 8, 1944 and was reported missing in early 1945 while conducting a mission against Russian forces. Grouping includes; 1.) Large binder containing 60 letters, documents and booklets related to Anton Horwick's military career including flight books, ID books, award book and document including his Knight's Cross award document, and other training documents. Included in the binder are also 26 letters, documents and ID booklets related to Eva-Luise Promoli ( Horwick's girlfriend and eventual wife) regarding her organizations, family members and service. This is an extensive archive. 2.) Horwick's photograph album measuring 7.5" x 10.75" with embossed silver Luftwaffe eagle and word "Erinnerungen" on cover. Album contains 118 original photographs (measuring 7" x 8" to 2.25" x 1.5") documenting Horwick's flying career including several great portrait images of Horwick in full military uniform wearing his Knight's Cross. Also mounted in album are 7 photographs that are later post war copies of images related to Horwick from original negatives. 3.) Luftwaffe marksman's lanyard (seen being worn by Horwick in photographs from photo album. Lanyard measures 16" in length. 4.) Cigarette case featuring photograph of Horwick, his wife and two small girls. Case measures 3.5" x 3.25" and exhibits some corrosion. 5.) Deutsches Einheits Familien=Stammbuch for the Horwick family with3 pages of manuscript fill-ins. 6.)
