Early SA Dagger For EM/NCO W/Scabbard-E. P. & S.-Full Rohm Inscription Lot #61 (Sale Order 62 of 203) Early E. Pack & Sohn SA dagger. Anodized scabbard with nickel fittings. The wood grip is the type wood usually only associated to E.Pack. Straighter form nickel cross guards which is also a trait of these EP&S daggers. Lower cross guard is district stamped "Nrh". Just above the grip emblem and centered above the eagle's head is what appears to be a clear faceted "jewel". Upon having it tested, it does not test positive as being a diamond. The 'Alles Fur Deutschland" motto is crisply etched. The reverse of the blade has a full Rohm inscription that is also crisply etched. The E.P. & S maker motto is also etched. The motto is slightly different than other examples by this same maker and according to research we have done it has been indicated there were variations. We have found examples of full, partial and ground Rohm inscription daggers by this maker with some having the inscription close to the maker motto as this one has and others with more space between the end of the inscription and top of the motto and showing the inscription starting closer to the blade tip. This example is out of a 50+ year old collection that we have been contracted to consign to auction, a few items at a time. We have already offered many original period pieces over the last few years. We have taken many photos with flash and without to try and show the details as accurately as possible. Please bid based on the findings of your own research or based on your own knowledge/expertise.

There are 2 heavy gauge "nail" pins on the reverse that are bent over for attachment to a train car...? ...building..?...plaque...? ....front of a podium..? The detail is nearly exactly as the Waffen SS Skull cap devices is. This period WWII Totenkopf was acquired directly from the WW2 vet's family several years ago and is now offered for the first time to the collector market!
