German Nazi Ahnenpass (Ancestor Passport) Lot #190 (Sale Order 201 of 249) German Nazi Ahnenpass (Ancestor Passport). This documents the Aryanlineage of citizens of Nazi Germany. It was one of the forms of the Aryan certificate (Ariernachweis) and issued by the "Reich Association of Marriage Registrars in Germany". The de facto primary objective was to create extensive profiling based on racial data. In 1933 Germany required all public servants to be of Aryan descent. The Third Reich further defined this as who was and who was not a Jew. You even had to prove your Aryan lineage (usually by 2 generations back) to attend high school or to get married. The Ahnenpass was not public record; it was shows where required and returned to the bearer. Opposition clergy helped many racially persecuted individuals by providing them with fake passports as a personal document necessary for survival.
